Makes Food As if it Was Fried! Yummm! My love for fried foods is endless and dangerous.When I was eligible to review this product at a discounted price for my honest review I jumped on the offer.I am astonished I have never heard of this or a product similar before.What does it do?This Baking Mat bakes food in a way that when prepared the food has that same crunch as if you cooked it in a deep fryer.The food I've made so far really tastes great!!As a fried food lover, I am extensively impressed with this mat.I was very skeptical at first because it did not seem logical to me.So I prepared a dish that would be very difficult to "fake" fry, potato latkes.I recorded my experience below.To use the baking mat you want to clean it first, just as you would any new kitchen appliance/dish you buy.Then place it on a rack in your oven that has a rack below it.You will prepare your "fake fried" food just as you would if you were going to fry it.Do NOT add cooking spray to the mat, it advises not to and proved not to need any.After preheating your oven, place your fried morsels on the mat by pulling out the rack on you oven that holds it.Make sure to leave an inch or two between food items.Cook as directed or until a golden "fried color" brown!The differences:Yes, there was of course a slight difference. The potato latkes were a little more dry than usual by "bake frying". I attribute that to less moisture. When you are frying, you are frying in liquid grease "oil", and when you are baking you are removing moisture by heating, so yes it the food will be a little dry than usual, but no less tasty, no less flavor. But alot more healthy!!!I would recommend this baking mat to anyone looking to add some more healthier options of food in their life but LOVE FRIED FOODS! 5Eat pizza cooked or reheated at home? Buy this...Works great - son normally cooks right on the grates/shelves/racks in the oven. He hates stones and pans. If a bunch of stuff drips he just swaps out the 50 cent cookie sheet. But, admittedly it's a pain in the butt. This product allows you to get the effects of no pan/no stone cooking but without all of the hassles that come with it. I didn't even mention the joy of placing a floppy pizza in the over and taking a hot pizza out when there's no pan... With this the pizzas are no longer cooked on the outer edges/areas but under cooked in the center, a problem that is very prevalent when you buy a thick take and bake pizza and cook it on a stone. With this the pizzas are cooked evenly because the heat gets to them evenly. Can't recommend this enough. Also good for more than just pizzas.... 5It works well in the oven with pizza, fries ...It works well in the oven with pizza, fries and vegetables (if they're dry). Make sure to wash well to get all thegrease out of it before using it again. 4Very usefulPerfect to line my toaster oven 5I've never seen anything like this baking matI have this thing for kitchen gadgets. It's a weakness, really. I've never seen anything like this baking mat, so I allowed curiosity to win out and ordered one.This mat is a slightly flexible basket-weave of non-stick coated wire-like strings. It has hundreds of little holes, which are responsible for the baking mat's ability to make things crispy. I have tried this out with a multitude of things so far: chicken tenders, french fries, and both regular and gluten-free frozen pizzas. The product instructs you to place the baking mat on the top oven rack, and to place a cookie sheet (or something similar) on the oven rack underneath. This is to catch any grease or drips that may occur during the cooking process, and is a step I'd recommend that you don't skip unless you really enjoy cleaning up baked-on food from the bottom of your oven.Overall, I was happiest with the result that I got when I used the mat for my chicken tenders. The breading came out evenly crispy, without any soggy parts. French fries had a similar result. Pizzas will require a slightly longer cook time than usual, for some reason, but if you allow them to bake for a few minutes longer, the crust comes out crisp and evenly browned.The one thing that I don't like about this mat is that it becomes discolored after several uses. This does not seem to effect the performance of the product or the taste of the foods cooked on it, so I am chalking it up as a minor cosmetic issue, similar to when muffin tins become discolored over time.I received this product at a discount in exchange for my honest review. All opinions expressed are my own. 5Works great, easy to cleanI bought this as a liner for the Breville toaster. It works great. 4Easy to wash, protects most of the juices from getting baked on the basket. Cut the mesh sheet Baking Mat with scissors so it fit in the basket. The mesh was easy to clean after roasting the pork loin in the Breville Smart Oven Air. A marjority of the juices stick to the mat. The mat is Teflon and very easy to rinse and clean. The mat protects the basket from juices and fat sticking to the basket. Made the basket much easier to rinse off. Also use for turkey breasts, breaded chicken and pork. Wonderful for lemon pepper chicken wings. Cleans easily in dishwasher also. Highly recommend. I paid full price for the Zoie + Chloe Crispy Crunchy Cooker Baking Mat. Recommend. 5Five StarsAmazing 5Surprisingly crispy results and great nonstick surface!So far, I have been pretty impressed with the crispy effects of this baking mat! I have used it for some of our more challenging allergy free baking items (like our gluten free/dairy free/taste free pizza, almond crusted chicken nuggets, rosemary potato wedges, etc.) and it has crisped the crust and items like we don't usually achieve, even with our perforated pizza pan.The mat is very simple and straightforward to use...you simply put the mat on the oven rack (use a cookie sheet on the bottom rack to catch any drips). As it was, we achieved a better crust experience than we have had so far with allergy free pizza. TIP: We line the drip catching pan with foil, so we can remove it and toss it!The positives about this cooking mat are:1) It is dishwasher safe (this is a feature that I LOVE and it is so easy to clean it even by hand)2) Speeds baking time (for us anyway...everything we have baked on it is done faster and crisper)3) No need to turn food...it browns/crisps both sides4) Very non-stick! Easy to remove food and easy to clean5) Actually CRISPS things!! Love this! Especially our stubborn, usually soggy pizza crust turned out amazing!!The negatives about this mat are:1) That it contains PTFE's, which I had not seen listed anywhere on the product description. We do not have a bird, but I generally try to avoid PTFE's as much as possible, so we have only used this at a maximum baking temperature of 350, just to be on the safe side.2) It does mean you are getting your oven rack a bit messy. I tried placing this mat directly on a cookie sheet and using it and it was not quite as effective.3) It does begin to discolor as you use it, but so far that has not made it stick to food or anythingI received this product at a discount in exchange for my honest and unbiased review. God bless you and have a great day! 4Great for making frozen foods crispy!I was really excited to try this product out. One of the problems I have with frozen foods is that you have to try to flip it halfway through cooking and even then you often still end up with soggy and squishy food that is supposed to be crunchy. My first trial with this product was with frozen fish stick, which can be notorious for being soggy. I stuck them on this mat and baked for the time directed without flipping them. They came out PERFECT! Crunchy and crispy with no hint of greasiness or sogginess. Awesome!My next trial was pizza made with a homemade dough. I put the pizza on the mat while the oven was preheating. The dough started to every so slightly ooze through the tiny holes in the mat. Not so bad I had to start over, so I just stuck it in the oven. I baked as I normally would using a pizza stone. The pizza came out okay, but no better (or worse) than using a pizza stone, although a bit trickier due to the oozing of the dough.Overall, I would say this mat is GREAT for cooking frozen foods so they end up nice and crispy as they are intended. It does slightly less well on fresh dough. I'll be keeping this around to use for my frozen foods for sure!I received this product at a discount in exchange for my honest review. 4
