Customer Reviews

I No Longer Scare the Neighborhood ChildrenBefore I purchased the Water Right 400 Series Garden Hose, my neighbors were afraid. They used to talk about me. I overheard things like, "Yes, her yard is gorgeous!" "Stay away!" "It's best to just walk on the other side of the street." "There's something seriously wrong with her." and "She scares my kids."Yes, I'm old and easily irritated. Wrestling with and dragging a heavy hose around my yard just - well - pissed me off! Covered in mud from that old, heavy hose; I wrestled, stomped, bent and twisted wildly as I struggled with it, while at the same time, cussing - loudly - to myself and randomly yelping in pain. Regardless of the pain, I love working in my yard so this show could go on for hours.Since the arrival of my Water Right Garden Hose, my neighbors have learned that I really am quite pleasant and approachable. They've even started coming to my house for porch parties! There are many things I love about this garden hose. It is so lightweight, it's a breeze to use and doesn't hurt my hands, arms or back. This is actually the second one I've purchased. Two years ago I purchased a 100', in eggplant. I speak from experience when I tell you that, yes, this hose is expensive but it's extremely durable. My purple hose has not faded. It looks as good and performs as well now, as it did on day one. Some people have complained about the water pressure but I don't find it to be a problem. No, it's not a power washer, but with a good hose end sprayer, the pressure is high enough to clean and sweep away loose debris. This lightweight hose is easy on the hose reels, attached to exterior walls of my house, which I certainly appreciate. It's also made in the U.S.A., so that's a big plus - and to me - worth spending a little extra for.5Perfect hose for dragging around the yard!We live in the Albuquerque area and have planted 50+ native xeric shrubs around our 1 acre property. We did not want to install driplines as these plants should do fine with precipitation once they are established. However, for the first year or two we will need to supplementally water them. Our hose bibs are inside an adobe-walled courtyard and the plants are outside of this courtyard. We tried using our old hoses and it was a nightmare trying to drag them over the walls and around the yard. We hestitated when we saw the price of the Water Right hoses, but decided to splurge as we were afraid we would lose several hundred dollars worth of plants and effort if we did not find any easier way to water them. We were not disappointed. These hoses are amazing. Lightweight and slippery so they just slide over our courtyard walls and can easily be dragged around the obstacle course of vegetation, rocks, etc. in our yard. They don't kink and are easy to store. We are going to buy another one and just leave one on each of our hose bibs. So much better than trying to lug around the heavy rubber hoses we used to have.5One of the worst hoses I've usedI don't understand these positive reviews - this is one of the worst hoses I've ever tried to use. Yes it's light and pretty, but it does nothing but kink. I tried unraveling it - it kinks. I untangled it and used it for 30 seconds, it kinks. I find the kink, pull it loose, use it for 30 seconds, and it kinks. It is impossible to use the host as currently constructed - it catches on itself and constantly kinks to cut off the water display -- maybe they've changed the product recently, but I thought I was being Punk'd. Sending it back and moving to a metal hose.1If there is any kind of pressure coming through the hose it flops around like a whipSkinny little hose. Didn't realize how slender the diameter was until it arrived. If there is any kind of pressure coming through the hose it flops around like a whip.1Mostly good, but severly restricted flow.I took a chance on this hose. It is, by a wide margin, the most expensive hose that I've ever purchased. After patching holes in old hoses that I've had for almost a decade now, I decide it was better to spend a bit more for something that will last longer. Some reviews mentioned the restricted flow while others seemed to indicate that this is not a big issue and hardly noticeable. For me, it is definitely noticeable and is the main drawback with this hose since it limits the applications to garden watering; you may not want to use this with an impact sprinkler or a pressure washer as there is a notable drop off in flow rate. I have a few other minor complaints such as the tendency to "stick" more so than other hoses I've owned. That said, there are many benefits to this hose. For starters, the smaller diameter yields a significant weight savings. This hose is extremely maneuverable (minus the "stickiness") and light, even in 100 foot form. You can easily pull out all 100' and move around with it without issue. The weight also means that it winds with less effort. The savings also apply to the size as well. It will take up less space on a reel.If you are shopping for a general purpose hose, consider getting the bigger version of this hose.If you want ultimate maneuverability for watering in the garden, this is the hose for you.As long as you know this, then you won't be disappointed. Given the premium price tag, I hope it holds up!4Water Right 100 ft 400 series hoseJust received this- so have only a few comments- IS VERY LIGHT which I needed- has lower water pressure as expected but doesn't seem to matter when watering flowers. MOST IMPORTANT HINT: when taking out of box, hose wants to keep in "coiled position" -called Water Right rep- she said to put on nozzle ,fill hose and leave set in full sun for a couple hours - WORKED!! -became "straight" and easy to store- I store my hose in a constant shaded area on mulch in a figure 8 position-- since expensive and small: will store inside garage for the 2-3 freezes we have here in NC each winter--works great so far (one week using) - will update if any other comments.5It never stops kinking.............I read all the reviews and thought I'd finally found a decent hose. Wrong. I never, in my life , ever spent so much time pulling out kinks. I let it sit in the Texas heat for a few hours to get the curls out, and, I must say, with my sprinkler on the end, it worked fine. Fine, that is, after I spent an hour untangling and pulling the kinks out. It was like a comedy act, and seemed like it would kink if you just looked at it. Now, with all the rave reviews, I can only suspect I got a fake hose and it wasn't a WaterRight, because never in my life have I been so frustrated with any product. It's now on the curb, to be picked up with my bulk waste, filling the landfill............terrible. Amazing how you can read millions of reviews and there is yet to be a well-made hose out there. Has a hose become brain surgery to put together? It doesn't matter the price range, they just fizzle out nowadays. My last hose developed pin holes here and there, why, I have no idea. I guess I'm going back to the old fashioned rubber hose, if I can even find one of those that doesn't fall apart after a few months. You know, instead of coming out with ''fashion" colors, let's just make a hose that works. I could care less about the color. Maybe on a shorter hose this might work, but at 75 ft, forget it.2Ups and but mostly downsI had originally rated this ktem as a 3, but am chamging it to a 1. This 100 ft hose is incredibly weightless, so that's super. Adequate flow even though so small in diameter. However, this hose got kinked and knotted repeatedly so many times. I spent 10 minutes using it and 15 minutes getting it put & unkinked and 15 minutes putting away to get all the kinks out. It is coated with not a smooth slideable surface that lets it fall away from it self, but has a gripper-like coating where it constantly grabs itself & won't let go, so there's no tossing it to get a kink out. You will spend your life trying to pull around and unkink this one. The grip coating is the worst for this type of item.1Hike/Crack in Hose after 6 Months!!I bought this hose back in July (2019). I needed a drinking water hose because I use it to fill up my dogs water bowls and didn t want chemicals leaching into their water. In addition, I used the hose one to two times a week to water the backyard and spray down the patio. First off, the hose NEVER lost it s curl. This made stretching it out across the yard a tiresome effort because it would continually kink. Although winding it back up on the rack was actually pretty easy because of this. The hose never leaked from either attachment end and it felt very well made.Fast forward to the second week of December 2019 (6 months / 185 days) and the hose has a crack/hole in it!$70 for a hose and it lasts only 6 months! That s insane. We took care of this hose, kept it on the rack whenever not in use, made sure it was wound correctly (not like it could be wound any other way anyway lol), and the dogs never chewed it or even took notice of it.I DEFINITELY DO NOT RECOMMEND GETTING THIS HOSE! Unless you re into being annoyed and disappointed.2They don't kink! These hoses are wonderful, and they do not kink, especially if you store them in a figure 8 pattern. If you put them in a coil, like all hoses they have a memory, and they will have that spiral memory. Putting them in a figure 8 pattern allows it to be pulled out evenly. Very sturdy, I've had my three hoses for 3 years, and they're in perfect condition. Yes because they're smaller, there is less volume of water, but plenty to run any sprinkler. I injured my shoulder and my large heavy hoses hurt me, these olive green! hoses are easy in every way, don't hurt small plants, and are safe to drink from. Worth every penny.5
