    Worked great for Vitamix 5000 After watching a youtube video on how to replace this, it was simple to replace and worked great to add life to my old Vitamix. Saved money over repair or replacement. 515 Minutes- DONE! Wanted to try this instead of sending in 5yo machine. SUPER easy install. Just take your time to open up vitamix. I cut one zip tie. No biggie, just retie with another. Changed out with this product and my vitamix speed is back up and running! woohoo! Thanks! 5Fits VitaMix 5200 Total time spent including bringing tools into the kitchen, disassembly, reassembly, and test run was 30 minutes max. The toughest part was getting the 2 case halves separated due to the rubber pieces around the edges between the upper and lower. The old switch was faulty to the point that my blender had fallen out of use. Now it works perfectly, and is used several times a week once again! Very satisfied with its performance so far. It's only been a few weeks since I put it in. I'm considering buying another to keep on hand if or when this one fails (assuming I could remember where I store it!) 5Works great, fits well. My 10 year old Vitamix was having trouble staying at the selected speed, so I could tell it was the potentiometer getting tired. The part is sealed so well , that any attempt to open it to clean it, would've likely resulted in it's destruction. So a parts replacement was in order.A quick call to Vitamix verified I was out of warranty and that the minimum repair charge was double the cost of the part.The part is easy enough to replace and appears of good quality. While not being exactly the same, it indexes correctly and fits well. If your comfortable with opening up your machine, then by all means go ahead and attempt this repair.Only time will tell if it matches the original part in durability. 5Direct replacement variable speed controller for Vitmix 5200 #VM0103 Direct replacement for my 2013 Vitamix VM0103. I purchased this switch to fix the variable speed controller that would accelerate the motor speed randomly on its own without input from the switch. The switch I received #15955 is a bit stiffer to turn than the original but does not effect performance. Once I replaced it the acceleration is now smooth and controller using the variable speed dial. Make sure you get the tab on the Potentiometer lined up correctly so the dial indeed starts at 0. It took all of about 5min to replace the switch. Due to the age of my blender I'm not concerned about warranty issues and this was much cheaper option than sending it in for repair if your are a Do-It-Yourselfer. Required only a phillips head screwdriver, needle noise pliers and wire cutters (cut existing zip ties) to replace switch. This Potentiometer "might" solve your issues with the variable speed controller and is worth a try compared to replacing or sending it back to the manufacturer if your out of warranty. 5Not Smooth Power at Lower Speeds This item took 5 minutes to install. It fit my VitaMix 5000 perfectly. The dial itself turns smoothly but my complaint is that once powered at low speeds, as you slowly dial up the speed, the power gets very jumpy until about the halfway point at which the the power becomes smooth and is smooth from there to high speed. I just expected a new part to be smooth from lowest speed to highest as you increased. Only time will tell how long this part will last but I'm not optimistic at this point. 3Works For Me I didn't realize the potentiometer on my VitaMix was faulty when I bought it many years ago. Delighted I found this replacement part and my VitaMix is now working properly. There's an excellent YouTube video on how to replace it, but the wires in the video are different from this particular replacement part. I had to use "common sense" when reassembling. Otherwise, it works perfectly. 4There are some good videos on Youtube to dismantle This pot wore off on my 15955 machine. You can tell when you have erratic speed control. For example, as you move the speed from 0 through 2 it will surge up much higher, even temporarily. That is a symptom of this component being worn out. There are some good videos on Youtube to dismantle. Repair was very easy, but you need a 10cm long (or longer) 2mm allen wrench. 5Exactly what I needed... It was like a ghost was controlling my blender when it was given to me. I looked up on the internet and found out this is exactly what I needed to fix my blender. The shipping was very fast and it was easy to put in. I am very mechanically inclined and if you look up on YouTube. You will see its not that hard. I love this blender because the power and all the different things it is good for. 5Fixed fluctuating speed issue on my Vitamix I was given a Vitamix from a family member who bought a newer one and the one they had was not maintainingspeed and was fluctuating a great amount.I've always wanted a Vita-mix, so I was glad to get it and looked at how to fix the fluctuating speed and found the most common issue is a faulty potentiometer. Found a replacement one on Amazon and bought it. Replacing it was pretty easy and it fixed the fluctuating speed and now runs great.If it ever fails again, I would easily buy another replacement.Pros:Easy to install (look for some youtube videos on it)Keeps speed stead at whatever setting you set it atCons:Nothing comes to mind. 5
