This is a good warmer and does what it needs toThis is a good warmer and does what it needs to. It can get very warm, and out of the 20 levels it has, I've never had to go above 12. The strange thing I noticed about mine was that it will not warm the areas where I'm not sleeping on. I don't know if that's how it's designed, but in the past I've had warmers where the entire thing warms up to a certain temperature, not just parts of it where someone is sleeping. Having said that, again once you're laying down on this it warms up decently and doesn't have any issues in the areas where you lay down. 4Best Purchase!We live in blustery Vermont; old ski chalet; electric heat. We have had several different brands of heated mattress covers, but the Sunbeam brand has been the best. Best controls with many heat levels, best heat distribution, easy to clean--I recommend washing as directed and hanging to dry on the line in the sunshine. I have purchased for myself, my parents (live in Michigan), my sister (has lupus), my in-laws, and both children (both kids are older teens) On a cold night you can use it just to warm the bed before you get in, or keep it on throughout the night. Love, love, love it! 5Great product -- just have to read directions.I purchased this mattress pad almost a year. I have washed -- in the washer and dried it in the dryer -- quite a few times. It still works great! When I first washed it and put it back on the bed I plugged the cord into the pad and it did not work. HOWEVER I then read the directions. When you reconnect the cord to the pad you have to unplug it from the electric socket THEN plug back into socket. It has worked every time. The cost is good too. 5Sadly disappointingThis died in three weeks. Fortunately Amazon stands behind their products. 1Awesome heating pad, gets nice and hot!These are AMAZING! I read a lot of the reviews and was worried about the electric plug, how warm it would actually get, and if you could feel the wires. My experience:1. The electric plug: The plug is located on the top side of the pad, so it does sit on the top edge of your mattress and creates a small bump. Instead of putting the plug at your feet where you could hit it (as many reviewers are complaining about) simply rotate and put the plug at the top. It sits nicely at the very edge of the mattress between pillows in the center. You'll never even know it's there. Plus then you don't have any wires running from the foot of your bed to the wall.2. How warm? I wanted something that would get really toasty when I wanted it to. I normally sleep hot, but there's just those times when you can't shake off the cold or you get out of bed for something and when you come back your feet are freezing and you can't get them warm. Let me tell you, if you crank this thing up, it gets nice and HOT! Love it. It goes on a scale of 1-20, and then H for High. You can also set it on PH (pre heat) but really not sure what that does other than puts it on a 30 minute timer and then shuts off. I suppose if you hit that, take a shower, and then go to bed but you don't want to get too hot, that is a viable setting. I usually just turn it on setting 10 before my shower at night, then turn it off when I crawl in, and my bed is nice and toasty but not overly hot. We love that it has dual controllers for each side of the bed so my wife can set her however she wants and it's not like being in the car where she's "hot" then "cold" then "hot" then "cold", and the rest of us suffer... :)3. Wires. Nope, can't feel a thing!Cons: I wish you could set a timer on the standard heat settings, so that you could leave it on for 1 hour or whatever you wanted. The things stays on for 10 hours and then shuts off. 5Perfect!I have had it now one week and it has coded and turned itself off twice. Since it was under warranty I called Sunbeam and they were less than helpful!! I have some product codes but they need more to prove the product. I don't know what product they are asking about but there are no more available. SO I am now fighting with Sunbeam on the product I have had for 1 week. Perfect! 1Sleep more soundly and more comfortablyI live in rural alaska and sometimes Durning the night it drops well below zero and I stay comfy warm and sleep more soundly because I am not waking up freezing in early hours of the morning. It is also washable and waterproof..had my doubts but when my niece had an accident and women to a soaked sheets, blankets and mattress pad, when I pulled them off my brand new bed, the mattress remained unharmed!!! Next test was the washer and dryer...again has held up multiple times I recommend to all my clients and friends! 5I absolutely love this productI absolutely love this product! I highly recommend it. It is waterproof, soft, comfortable and wonderful. It has dual controls, for separate temperatures on each side of the bed. The temperature gauges go from 1-19 and then the high setting. I use mine at 9, and it heats up very quickly. It has a preheat setting, although I've never used it. I just turn it up on high for 15 minutes if I'm super cold, and then back down to a reasonable number and fall asleep. It's also very fluffy, so it has sort of a pillow top mattress feel to it. So if you've got an older mattress with grooves in it, this can significantly help by giving you a fluffy layer in between for some added comfort.I am one of those people who can't sleep with clothes on, but I can't sleep if I'm cold either. Cold feet are the worst and it keeps me awake. With the heated mattress pad, I never have to worry about that again. I am falling asleep much faster and staying asleep because I am never cold anymore, and I am much more comfortable with the mattress pad. 5Returning to buy a different brand.I wanted to love this product; but sadly, that just was not in the cards. Bought the first one, and on night #1, it worked for a few hours, and it was great! By the time we woke up, we had F2 flashing on both controllers. I read up on it, and had my husband unplug the cords. Again, they both worked for a few hours, but we woke up to cold beds. I returned the product to Amazon, and had them replace it. Amazon was awesome... they were prompt and easy to deal with - they get 5-stars! We put the replacement on, and same deal. Worked for a few hours, but woke up to a cold bed and flashing F2. Husband unplugged it, and now only one side works all night long (mine!), but his side only works for a few hours, and he wakes up to a flashing F2. This morning, after my side working fine for a couple of days... I wake up to a flashing F2. We re just going to the product and go with a different brand.For what it s worth, when it worked, it was magical. The preheat option is amazing. I m just not OK with spending $150 for a product that doesn t work properly. 1Only works for a short time.Wish I would have listened to the reviews about not working!!!! Do not buy!!! It works like everything else does , until the point you can t return. The pad worked good for a little over a month, until just after Amazon s return period. Then it started working sporadically either heating or not heating at all. We checked every plug connection. Unplugged and plugged back in hoping to reboot the controls. Yes you have to do that if you get an error message.Last night less than 4 months after purchase it quite working completely. I am very disappointed in this purchase considering how much I paid for the heated mattress pad. Read the reviews!!! The low rating reviews are correct. My guess is the higher rated reviews got rated before they had problems and never updated. DO NOT BUY!!!! 1
