    Exactly what you pay for: uneven finish, ragged edges, cheap qualityI ordered these teaspoons as spares at work so they don't need to be fancy. They aren't "heavy-weight" but they ARE medium weight. (I have much lighter stainless at home.) However, I did not expect these spoons to have rough edges or an uneven (almost grainy) finish. One spoon actually had five different areas of the "bowl" where there was no finish at all--almost like rust spots! The edges all the way around are unpolished/not smooth. You can see the striations where they were formed (looks like they were pressed out). They wouldn't cut your mouth, but they don't feel smooth and pleasant to the hand. For the price, they're worth it for us in the office, but I definitely wouldn't want clients to use them. 2YOU REALLY THOUGHT YOU WOULD GET 6 GRAPEFRUIT SPOONS!!!!!Stainless Steel Grapefruit Dessert Spoon, Set of 6So for Valentine's day, I decided to splurge and buy my girlfriend some grapefruit spoons. She has been wanting them for a while and I thought it would be a great present to surprise her with. I placed an order for 6 grapefruit spoons which should come with a serrated rim. I paid for one-day shipping as I'm not one to wait. When I want something I want it as fast as possible! Thankfully Amazon graciously delivered my item on time even with Valentines Day approaching rapidly, as I am sure there were multiple grapefruit spoon orders rolling in for the holiday as it is truly a marvelous gift. I left everything in the box as I wanted her to open it by herself. But the issue here is when she opened the box that was supposed to be holding the 6 grapefruit spoons, it had 12 regular spoons in it! Like what? I know you, the prospective buyer, is just as shocked as I am! So, unfortunately, I am very disappointed with this product as the product that arrived did not match the picture whatsoever. And unfortunately, my girlfriend was unable to eat her grapefruit with ease. Be careful before you buy! If you want 6 grapefruit spoons this is not the right place to buy them! But if you happen to be looking for 12 stainless steel REGULAR SPOONS, go right ahead as the price sure is a steal! 1Very poor qualityThese are like school cafeteria quality spoons. They will bend in half the first time you try to eat with them. You can buy these same spoons other places for half this price, so I was thinking these were better quality. But these are the thinnest cheapest spoons I've ever seen. Do not buy these, you will throw them away after the first time you use them. I suppose if your idea of nice flatware is a plastic KFC spork, or the free spoon that comes with your frozen microwave TV dinner, or you are a college student and you have to sell your plasma to buy groceries, then these would be just fine for you. But if you like semi decent nice stuff, and you have a job that pays you more than $18,000 per year, then you will be disappointed with these, and you deserve better. 1Totally satisfied. Good purchaseGreat spoons, just the size we were looking for (teaspoon) with a simple, modern design that went well enough w/ our other flatware that we could just add these to the drawer. (Not sure how we lose all our teaspoons over the years. Garbage disposal?) These have held up well & should be good for many years. 5Would be better as a cereal spoon -- dull at the ends and ineffective!These might be the worst grapefruit spoons I've ever used. I've now used them three times -- three different spoons from the 6-count just to make sure I didn't happen to try the one dud. I've decided it's time to throw them out and cut my losses. It's not even that they only work somewhat well at scooping out the sections, I think they might actually make it harder to eat a grapefruit than if you were using a regular spoon. I also cut my grapefruit sections with a grapefruit knife prior to using a spoon, so it should be a breeze to get the pieces out. But, the reason I'm throwing them away is not because the serrated part of the spoon is dull (though it is), it's because the edges of the handle of the spoon somehow hurt your fingers to use. Until I got these, I didn't know that was possible with a spoon and a piece of pre-sliced fruit. I know they're a great price, but spend an extra few dollars to buy the somewhat nicer ones! 1Avoid these spoons!These arrived today and I must say this is a perfectly useless item as manufactured and also the picture is very very misleading.First of all these "spoons" you will discover are made from a very low grade super thin and almost pliant stainless steel that bend easily, when is use. Not use-able! Secondly these spoons are very wide in the "bowl" making them useless to dig out any sections of grapefruit which are much thinner than the these wide bowled spoons. Save your money. Don't be fooled! Product is worthless and not really useable for the advertised purpose. 1Item delivered not as pictured and very poor quality.The grapefruit spoons I received were not as pictured. They have a rounded end, instead of pointed. They are flimsy and bend easily. Do not buy. 1Buyer Beware!After using a grapefruit spoon at my in-laws house I thought it would be nice to own one for myself. Their spoons were nice and smooth and skinny so you can plunge them into the individual sections of the fruit. These spoons unfortunately are just horrible! First off the one's I received look nothing like the picture! Secondly, no way they're stainless Steel. These are round, flimsy and have no identifying markings. They're too round and fat to be useful as a grapefruit spoon and they're super sharp and scratchy. I tried to return them but they cannot be returned or exchanged for any reason! I have never seen that before on Amazon and we place orders almost daily. 1Extremely DisappointingI don't know if I simply received a poor set but am shocked to see the positive reviews, also,listed as Best Seller, and then receive such a poor product. Just opening the packaging, the spoons bent easily. The broad shape of the spoon, which I didn't notice before ordering, doesn't fit easily into any grapefruit sections I've come across. Vey disappointed. Sad to see Amazon selling mediocre merchandise. 1Great spoons, hard to find locally - so buy these!I have looked EVERYWHERE in my area for a set of grapefruit spoons and could not find them locally. I was so glad I was able to find these on Amazon and order them. When I was younger, my mother had a set of grapefruit spoons and I loved how easy they made it to eat grapefruit in the morning for breakfast. This set of 6 was perfect for me. The serrated edge on the eating end of the spoon allows for quick and easy removal of grapefruit sections. I like to cut the grapefruit in half and sprinkle some sugar on each half and then dig in with the grapefruit spoon. I am so happy I found these. They are of good stainless steel construction and work like a charm when it comes to eating grapefruit. If you enjoy eating grapefruit, you'll be very happy with this 6-piece spoon purchase. At least in my area, they were non-existent in stores, so get these today do you won't have to search any more! 5
