The trim square around the lever really help this door handle stand out, i've already gotten a few compliment on it. It was very easy to re-key to match my other Schlage locks just watch the video online and it takes about 5 mins Prime-Line Products E 2402 Schlage Type C Re-Keying Kit, 5 Pin.This is a Level 1 security deadbolt, making it tough to pick the lock, and very tough to kick the door in. This deadbolt will not be the weakest link in your doors security.Install was a breeze, came with all the hardware including strikeplates, screws, and keys. Install time under 5mins and you only need a Phillips head screwdriver.Pros: Great looking deadbolt, easy to install, and easy to re-key, I have recommended Schlage handles and locks to friends. 5Great Find I've been having trouble finding deadbolts with other than the standard round surround. Many handlesets have oversized surrounds, and the door underneath is either not painted/finished or not faded the same as the regular door.This unit is exactly what I've been looking for. Arrived nicely packaged and undamaged. Uses standard Schlage lock cylinder so I was able to just change that out with the existing deadbolt to keep the keying unchanged. 5Easy to install but be careful and read instructions Read the installation instructions carefully. Particularly the notice to NOT leave a key in the lock when you do the installation. If you have a key in the lock while you install it, at least for me, it seemed to make the lock work funny and jam. Solution - take apart and reinstall with no key in the lock. Then it worked fine,I was concerned when I opened the box that the existing hole in my door wasn't big enough to accommodate the complete lock with mounting ring included. But in the instructions it said how to remove some of the mounting ring so it would fit my inch and a half diameter existing hole.A pro would likely be able to swap an old lock for a new one in 5 minutes. It took me about an hour to do two doors, including removing the old locks. But I've got a great understanding of how it all fits together now. The locks I replaced where Schlage locks that were maybe 30 years old at least. These new ones are so much easier to install then if I had to put the old ones back in. I'm glad I bought new locks instead of just getting the old locks rekeyed. 5Great craftsmanship and easy install. Purchased this in tandem with the August Smart Lock. It was VERY easy to install and worked perfectly with the August Lock. It seems to be made if quality materials and craftsmanship. I highly recommend it. 5Grade 1 is the way to go with exterior doors, but don't forget to upgrade your strike plate's strength too. I picked this based on many reviews by locksmiths and Consumer Reports. I want a Grade 1 lock on all my doors and this one is nice and sleek and took all of 5 minutes to install.It doesn't matter how good your deadbolt is if your strike plate is weak - you can rip the entire door jamb/frame off with a swift kick. I intend to get a full-length strike plate (3 - 4 feet) and use 3" screws that will hold it in place because it's screwed into a stud at multiple points, not just a weak strip of thin wood. For now I used the strike plate it came with and 3" screws there will have to do for now. 5resale or new? got it overnight to replace one in entry door. Fit fine (Camelot deadbolt takes smaller than standard hole size) however there was a slight scratch on the face under the cylinder and the cylinder (what the key goes into) seems loose with in the cylinder housing and there is a slight gap. The keys also had slight irregularities (like when you get a key copied) and the movement was not smooth. I buffed the keys a bit and sprayed some graphite into the lock and now works fine, but makes me wonder if they are really knew or if "refurbished".I also thought was sold by Schlage through Amazon, but a different company is listed as "Seller" under the Q&A section? 3Pretty - but not as good as ugly commercial grades Very beautiful and probably protective. But what you really want is a Shalage, simple looking, COMMERCIAL grade (ANSI 1) bolt I d youre serious about keeping people out. Another thing I would like to point out is that any door is kickable by a strong man with a wood frame, because the frame simply bust off and completely dislodges the deadbolt and allows the door to break in.For people with wooden door frames with an average of 99.9% of people, what you want are steel reinforcers that you can find online here on Amazon. For an a$$wipe to break in, would allow you enough time to figure out how to handle the over confident loser. 4Looks GREAT, feels durable Perfect for my new front door and well worth the extra cost vs a regular schlage deadbolt. I love it. It has only been in for a couple of months but the issues I was worried about were:1-Finish - Will the keyhole start showing scratches - it has NONE yet, with two young guys living here and regular use.2-Screws - Will the screws hold tight so the squares stay straight - yes, it does. I have had some where through regular use the screws come loose along with the deadbolt. I made it sufficiently tight and it seems to be staying.3-Throw - Will the bolt go all the way without stopping against the wood in the door frame so I don't have to drill more - yes. Works perfectly4-Fit - Will everything fit in a brand new prehung door without modification - Sort of... See belowNow, the only issue I have with Schlage deadbolts is that they are intended to be installed with their high security plate behind the decorative plate that goes in your door frame. If you are replacing a Kwikset deadbolt you can use the old plate if you wish, understanding that the grade of security is not as high, but going this route saved me from having to chisel out for the larger plate. If you want to use the supplied stuff and do it as the mfr intends, you will probably need a small chisel to make the hole in your door frame a little larger for the bigger plate.All in all I love the Century collection. Schlage makes nice, durable products that are dependable for as long as you own it. I have never had an issue with a Schlage product. 5It's hard to be excited about a deadbolt, but I really like these I'm not a locksmith or a criminal, so I don't know how these perform on those levels, but I really like these (bought 8 of them). Nice looks. Very nice tactile feel when locking/unlocking. Unlike other styles, each side only installs one way, so you don't have to worry about lining sides up. Put the deadbolt into the the door with the "UP" facing up. How hard is that? Place the outside 1/2 of the lock in place on the outside of the door, with keyway down, slip the inside 1/2 into place, and install with 2 long machine threaded screws. (Other locks are a real challenge to get the screws to line up through the lock and risk cross-threading. Not here. Before tightening the screws 100%, make sure the deadbolt operates smoothly. Tighten.After the first deadbolt installation, it took me all of 3 minutes each, to install the other 7 in pre-drilled doors. 5Keep the good stuff in, and the bad stuff out Great looking lock at a great price, The satin nickel matches the Schlage door handle.
