They were made of muslin and washable. I was not able to get to the shopbedding website and amazon offered these as the same as shopbedding. I thought they were the same item as I had previously ordered. They were a gift and after the receivers opened and put them on their bed they mentioned that they were not muslin and felt more like vinyl and made a crinkling noise. Don't know if there are washable since the packaging was throw out. (no slave to fashion here) I had no problem with the zippper; however, the zipper is small light plastic (no-rust). If you have a tight fit, the teeth on the zipper may pull apart. Shipping was prompt. The product says, made in you-know-where. :-) Since it is unbleached cotton, it is an off-white color. I would knock off half a star for the zipper.
