Customer Reviews

Write Smoothly on Many SurfacesI have a problem with colored pens and markers. I love to write with all kinds of colored pens and Sharpies. These metallic Sharpies are awesome. They work great on tons of different surfaces. They can be used on any regular paper or plastic surfaces. They can write on many different colors of paper and they will show up nicely. I used these to make some signs. Most of my signs were on white, but I also used it on black paper. These metallic sharpies are somewhat shimmery. They shine nicely. The pens write smoothly. The one issue I have with them is that the ink does not seem to last as long as regular Sharpies. These seem to run out much more quickly or dry up more quickly. The tips are also a slightly different texture and shape than original Sharpies. I have used other brands of metallic pens and markers and Sharpie still my favorite despite not lasting as long as I would like them to.I bought this product at full price for my own personal use.4It's just OK ...The Silver and Bronze pens have that extra glitz & zing. The Gold pens, however, were noticeably drab in comparison ... on paper ink looked brown. At first, thought mine was just a fluke ... so ordered these 3Xs! Well, turns out that it was a trend and not a fluke ... as ALL the Gold pens didn't pop like the Silver & Bronze. I've used the Gold in the past and these Gold pens from the packs, as well as packs by themselves (haven't tried the individual ones, yet), do not look the same as they did once upon a time ... from my recollection.3I love Sharpies! They write on almost anything.I like to order my Sharpies off of Amazon because I find exactly which ones I need for when I need them. Sometimes, a store I go to may not carry the exact color, size, set, etc. that I am looking for. However, online I always find what I need. The Sharpie brand is consistent and works great every single time. I have Sharpies of every size and color because I use them all of the time for just about everything - Thank you notes, journaling, work projects, crafting, art, kids school projects, organization, moving, labeling boxes, etc. I even use them on furniture for scratches and dents. You might get them cheaper elsewhere, but maybe not the set you are looking for. Online, you may find a better set that the store won t carry, and maybe even at a better price!5Dried up and useless. Buy somewhere else!Unfortunately, both bronze pens and one silver pen were mostly dried up when I received them, in an unopened package. As I gradually pulled the different colors out to use them, I realized these ones were only good for a couple pen strokes before they dry up and stop writing. I didn't realize this at the time I received them, as I didn't think I needed to test every single one. Now I'm well outside the 30-day return window with 6 pens I can't use. Very unhappy.1Make it ultra fine, permanent, and non-fading would be a 5-star+The main complaint I have with the markers, is the 'fine' point description. I would need an 'ultra-fine' to achieve what I need. My main reason ffor getting these is that they write on dark surfaces. Tried the 'paint-based' but was not satisfied. Don't know the long term durability yet when used, but it is definitely more suited for non-porous surfaces, because reading other reviewers, it'll bleed over time.My first main purpose was for writing on the many ac/dc power blocks I tend to have collected over the years. The volt and amp is nearly impossible to discern at a moments notice...but writing on the 'product' they go to is where a 'true' fine point is needed. Then, next use is the growing use of 'wireless' products (mouse, keyboards, etc.) and their associated dongles. I really need an ultra ultra fine point there. My only other complaint is there is very little 'eyeball' distinction between the bronze and gold...even with the caps. But that is the same watching the Olympics, can only distinguish of where they stand on the podium...once they get in a crowd of reporters, I am lost unless their I 'know' them.Overall, I am very pleased to have found these. So far, they are better than the paint based ones I've used.3Love Metallic Sharpies!!!Wrote beautifully and gave my wedding the perfect touches it needed! We had a rustic theme and needed the copper and gold touches to make the theme complete. It was a DIY wedding and I used these sharpies for everything from signs, to labels, and for the guest book5What happened to these sharpies?Bought these to get some NASCAR drivers autographs and it turned into a nightmare. I keep the tips down except for when they were going to be used and the ink did not run good... at ALL! Used on Denny Hamlin's 2019 Daytona 500 win car and could barely see it. Almost ruined a $90 die-cast. and for what these cost... i expected WAY better. Never had a plain black sharpie do like this. I bought the sharpie paint pens they are SOOOOOOOOOOOO much better. never going to buy these again. Only takes one bad experience for me and im done. Had a helmet and used the copper on a prior pack (But they dried up after sitting so long) but, it turned out great... that's why i'm surprised these were so bad.1Paint marker quality without the paint-marker troublesI've been a long-time Sharpie fan but where you run into troubles are when trying to write on dark objects (plastic, paper, etc..), they just don't show.I've been using the various paint markers until now (the type you need to shake before use) but they tend to dry up and run out of paint regularly (making you re-shake them before using). The Metallic Sharpies are nice in that they work just like a sharpie (no shaking) but still show up great on dark objects. The 6-pack includes 2 of each color and it's what I'd recommend as once you use them the tip does begin to get fat/blunt and not give that sharpness they have when new. Quality is good and they dry very fast (but do give them a few seconds before touching). The gold and bronze colors are somewhat similar but you can see a difference. I actually prefer the Bronze color as it comes off a bit shinier.5Trust the Sharpie Brand! These markers are amazing! I have ordered other brands of permanent metallic markers only to be disappointed in their performance. I've found that others tend to be streaky when trying to get full coverage and contrary to their claims, not to show up well on dark surfaces. Well, the brand makes all the difference and Sharpie has came through yet again with these excellent markers. They cover wonderfully the first pass and are just as vibrant on the darkest of colored surfaces as they do on pure white ones. I'm very pleased and highly recommend this brand over all others. Save your money and get these first, you won't be sorry.Update: I recently reviewed another brand of metallic markers and uploaded pictures to show what I was trying to explain. I decided to take pictures of these markers as well to help others. So here are some pictures showing these markers on white and on three different black surfaces, two smooth, the cup and the round lid, and a textured one, the mouse. The mouse also has colors from another reviewed product but I went back over the gold, silver, and metallic ones to show the better Sharpie results. I hope these help make up your mind.5Dried out Markers! =(I do like the quality of Sharpie and the Selection of Colors is nice. However about 25% of the markers were dried out! =( I'm assuming the batch I got was sitting in a warehouse for multiple years before they shipped it to me. =( Sad face.I think I'll buy markers from Brick and Mortars from now on.1
