Customer Reviews

Good quality - excellent dealThese are quite nice, actually. The dimensions are a little off in the copy, but not by much.Overall length is 8 1/2", diamond length is 3 1/8", width is 7/16 or 11mm rather than 1/2", and thickness is 3mm or just under 1/8" rather than the 5mm stated.Files are sturdy, straight and flat (the coated area and handle being raised). The diamond coating is on all four sides and the tip, as if it were dipped - I mention this as sometimes it's useful to have one edge smooth on a file, though of course the edges coated are useful as well. The grit consistency appears to be uniform and consistent with the spec'd grade. The grade is not marked on the individual files, but that's easily rectified with a felt tip marker. The included vinyl pouch is workable though a bit chintzy - I almost mistook it for packaging as it was stuck to the cardboard. In very fine print on the package it reminds one to use with water or lubricant as one should not use these dry (as with most diamond files)..5Very handyI'm impressed. So far I have sharpened drill bits, forstner bits, and a variety of other items. Pretty fast removal of material when you don't want to put something on a grinder or belt sander. No wear noted yet. Soft plastic sleeve is pretty thin but keeps them organized. They are not marked but it is pretty easy to tell them apart.5Nice set of filesVery nice set of files - good for filing acrylic and also wood. Nice even pattern of diamond fragments, clean rectangular cross-section, and sufficiently thick so they maintain their shape even when force is applied. No idea how long they will last, but so far they are holding up well. I wish they had the grit marked on them, but other than that, I'm very happy with them.5Best Diamond files I have used.Great diamond files for lapidary work. Diamonds are on all four sides and the tip making these files super useful!! The handle is a good length and the rubber protects your hand from the 90 degree angles. The price is right.5Excellent value for the priceThese diamond files have large abrasive surfaces and long handles, so they are comfortable for someone with average to large hands to use. The set fills a gap I have always had in my tool collection. I expect them to work well for initial sharpening of knives and other tools, for filing welds on steel assemblies, working with glass, ceramics, or stone materials. They provide a very wide range of grit from #40 to #600.The manufacturer paid much more attention to making these files useful rather than beautiful, which is fine for someone like me who plans to actually use them frequently. The plastic dipping on the handles is a little inconsistent, and the included case is flimsy but it should keep the abrasive surfaces from damaging each other. The set can be rolled up for storage.4Great for wet filing! These are good little files! I use these for wet-sanding resin castings, and they're holding up beautifully! As long as you take care of them and keep them dry you can use them for wet filing as well as dry filing. I did have to label each one so I know which file is which grit, so they lost a star for that, but for the price they are very good quality.4Sturdy, useful tools to finish glass or tile edges.Working on a tile or glass tile project? After you cut the tile, dress the edge with these diamond files. In grits from coarse to fine. Rigid, easy to use and effective. Rubberized grips are easy on the hands, and the steel substrate is thick enough not to flex or bend while in use.5Not badI do rock carving, and currently don't have a lapidary setup, and I had a slab of jade I needed to get close to flat, this set of files did the trick.Several of the files had a lip on the long edge, that caused a gouge, so that is why only four stars.I would buy the set again.4Surprisingly nice! Didn't expect that. GREAT files.I'm a bit of a tool snob. Normally, if it doesn't say Starrett, or Nicholson, or Snap-on, or Armstrong, or Craftsmen, or Brown and Sharpe or Milwaukee or Fluke, I don't usually buy it. For me, hell wouldn't be a fiery lake, but spending eternity in Harbor Freight. When I purchased these "no name" files, I had fairly low expectations. But after using these, I was really surprised. The files work great. They clean off well. They don't seem to be getting dull. The quality seems good.I like that all four sides of these are coated with abrasive. I makes getting into some tighter spaces pretty easy.I may just purchase a second set of these for my tool box at work.5Works greatI use these to file my many types of jewelry-making pliers so that they grip more evenly again. I have also used them to file the wire ends when making wire jewelry. The range of grits allows for a lot of control, and they seem quite durable, especially compared to some diamond grit jewelry files I bought - these are much nicer and longer-lasting. Highly recommended for jewelry and home improvement use - probably other uses, too!5
