Part fixed the problem for now but the history of this part says it's going to do the same thing over time.5you could easily lose your battery if you don't hear the pump ...This float switch is the same as what you would find at any West Marine, except less expensive. I haven't had any problems with this unit EXCEPT, every once in awhile, a piece of debris will get into it and it will stick in the ON position. Luckily this has happened in the marina and the batteries are hooked to a charger, but if this happened while at sail, you could easily lose your battery if you don't hear the pump running.Otherwise, it does what it is advertised to do and I can't complain about it too much. Perhaps what I really need to do is clean the gunk out of my bilge a little more thoroughly!4WorksGood stuff5
