Customer Reviews

DON'T try the adhesive strips!!!The adhesive strip application is a waste of time and a joke. First, the strips are too wide for the bottom edge, making them either stick up and touch the papers in the box, or hang out under the box. You shouldn't have to cut to fit the strips that come with a product... Second, after about 30 minutes of being hung EMPTY on the wall (I wanted to give it some time before adding extra weight), one of the file boxes fell right off the wall. I thought it may not have stuck well because of the orange peel texture on my walls, but upon further inspection, the adhesive was still attached to the wall... and the box. The Adhesive strip itself came apart with the weight of the box. Pathetic.... Within about 2 hours, all three had fallen off the wall and had to be mounted with the screws.. I was very frustrated, since i was hoping not to have to make holes in the first place. On the plus side, I was able to experience first hand that they are very good at not breaking when they come crashing down. Durability is good! I'll keep the boxes because I needed the organization, but I am frustrated with the mounting experience. 2NEW USE - INSTANT, HANDY CHAIRSIDE MAGAZINE RACKWorking great! I am using this holder between my recliner and attached to a side table with Command damage free picture hanging strips, 16 pound wt. capacity. I then attached the Command hooks (purchased separately) using the command picture hanging strips on the hook. The Velcro industrial strength didn't hold it up. It is holding the weight of my iPad, a portfolio and whatever project I am working on such as a stack of recipes. I have used the Velcro industrial-strength before to hold my baggy holder inside my cabinet door and it worked just fine, but wouldn't hold this. Those picture hanging Command strips work great for this. Just don't forget to buy the Command hooks also, but don't use the tape that comes with that. 5Good durable productHesitated to purchase this because I thought it was a little pricey, but I am pleased with the product I received. Came well packaged and although there were no included directions, I was able to figure out how to attach the magnet (sticky) and back without much trouble. I could see how this might be confusing, though and my reason for giving it four stars. The plastic is super thick and does seem like it will hold up well. I have kids and a clumsy husband, so this is important. The magnet is strong and I have put it on the side of my fridge where I created a school station with calander and notes about upcoming events. I have a three ring binder, four white board markers, and papers in it now and it holds without any slipping. 4They are NOT unbreakable but read on for a hackAs a classroom teacher, I am using these for storage of items for younger children such as work choices and headphones. The magnet is ALMOST strong enough to hold, but if they get bumped wrong, they can fall (as two have in the last week) and had broken. Amazon replaced them. But, I thought about it and realized that there was a way to (hopefully) fix it so they don't break again when they fall. If you use 2 pieces of clear packing tape to attach the back magnetic panel to the clear front panel, they will not swing freely and therefore don't pull at the magnetic back at funny angles. This seems to have solved the problem and created better structural integrity so they don't get bumped and fall off the magnetic surface again. So buy the product, use the product, but (if I were you) tape the product! 3False advertising: NOT a 3-pocket wall file setTo say I am disappointed with this product is a major understatement. I bought 2 sets of 3 so that I can hang them together, nested, as shown in the photo. Unfortunately, contrary to what the Amazon page has you believe, it is impossible to do so. Simply put, this is NOT a 3-pocket wall file set. It is a 3 wall files that do not mount together.. Because the file folder holders come separately with 0 instruction (or even allusion to the possibility of) nesting them, and because the screw holes are completely covered after nesting, one must use a great amount of improvisation to achieve the result depicted by the feature photo on the Amazon listing, and after 1.5 hours trying to do so, I have failed. The only screw holds that are usable are the topmost one, which means that the sticky tape has to be used to connect the two nested below. After fashioning the provided double-sided tape (which requires measuring and cutting, as the pieces are not sized correctly to begin with) to the inside of the bottom 2 file holders so they would hold together, I used the provided screws to hang the topmost file holder so they would all be mounted together. Within 20 minutes they fell down. And after having "fixed" them 4 times, I woke up this morning to them both having fallen all over my desk with paper strewn all over. And bear in mind, the folders that I had put in the holders were very thin and light weight, so it's not like I'm stuffing heavy 3 ring binders in there.Am I awesome at hanging things on the wall? No. Should this product require a handyman to hang this simply to look like the photo? No. What an exercise in frustration. If you only need to hang one at a time, then this product will probably suffice just fine. But if you want to actually achieve the 3-nested set as in the picture, you are out of luck because it just won't work unless you find a way to drill more holes into the plastic. 1VERY poorly designed!Junk! The first one I received was already broken. The second broke -- fell off the wall within a week. It is poorly designed. The piece that holds the magnet to the back of the file pocket has two tiny fragile tabs that slide up into holes. On the first order the file was already broken off -- in fact was probably broken, returned and re-sold. The tiny tab was not in the box. The replacement fell off the wall within a week and one of the tabs broke. In order to use it, I'm going to put gorilla glue on the back piece (this piece should have been already connected to the file in the first place). 1They are sturdy and were easy to installMy toddler loves her new convenient book bins! They are sturdy and were easy to install. 52 years and still stickingI needed a way to organize kids' papers that they brought home from school, and slapped these up on the wall pretty quickly. After over two years of continuous use by not-so-gentle kids, they haven't come unstuck, haven't broken, haven't gotten scratched up looking, and work perfectly. Easily fits folders, notebooks, papers and library books.I use scrapbooking paper to line the fronts of them, and I can change it out when I get sick of looking at it. Just slip the paper in with the white facing toward you, trace a line, cut, and secure the paper to the inside of the cubby with the pattern facing out with a couple of "glue dots". 5The adhesive that comes with it does not really work well...Okay,I received this yesterday and I was soooooooooo excited to use it. I used the adhesive and stuck it to my wooden hutch and put my folders in.Then I went to sleep.....In the morning, my stuff was on the floor! I am not a happy camper right now. I do not want to drill into my hutch which is why I got the pocket with the adhesive. I am using double sided mounting tape along with the adhesive to see how that holds up. Will update in 2 weeks.UPDATE: Did not last two weeks (haha). I am going to send it back. And another update: I used mounting putty to adhere it to my hutch. It seems to be working so I have canceled my return request.Update to the update on top of the other update: mounting putty failed. Got command picture hanging strips. So far, so good and it survived 24 hours. Only time will tell..... 2Good as is, could use a slight improvement.I got a couple of these for mail sorting at home and have them attached to the side of my fridge.PROS:1) Really like how the magnet provided is a big adhesive sheet magnet. Its big enough that it almost fills the entire back panel (the black portion).2) Sturdy. I haven't attempted to drop test or break this thing, it's held onto the fridge with no problem - but the clear plastic feels very sturdy.3) Wide enough to fit magazines and larger mail, deep enough to keep them in - BUT NOT TOO DEEP! This is key. Nobody wants to have to get their hand stuck trying to get some mail that fell down the rabbit hole. Plus being clear front means you will always see it.CONS:1) I really wish this was all one piece. The black backing has hooks that hold the clear bucket.2) Black plastic backing is obviously a weaker plastic than the clear. Seems like it would be the first thing to go which sucks because that's the only way for this thing to attach.3) The clear bucket has no back to it. A little hook up from the bottom then it's all open to the fridge/cabinet/whatever. I understand that this could be a "feature" so you can take it off and access things easily, but I see it as a flaw. All in all, the CONS I have are really just nitpicking. As long as you don't plan to spike this thing and it stays put, it's a champ. Definitely serves its purpose. 4
