I keep it right in front of my leg so that I can shut it off with just a bump when needed. If you're looking for a switch and haven't already picked one, you can't go wrong with this one, especially for the cost. I even added my dust vacuum to it so it kicks on when the router does. 5... my bandsaw with this switch and it works just fine for this applicationReplaced the switch on my bandsaw with this switch and it works just fine for this application. Especially like that the connections to the unit enter from below, allowing easy installation. 5Hooked up to two machines and works greatWorks like a charm! I had to buy new mounting hardware to attach this to a 3/4 inch plywood. Aside from that, this performs to expectations. I have used this on my router table I built along with a i-Socket Autoswitch to attach both the router and the vacuum system. 5Works well and seems durableThis has about a two to three foot female plug and a maybe 8 ft male plug. It's convenient and the cord insulation seems pretty durable. I wanted the cords to come out the top of my switch so I opened the box, lifted the leads, rotated the switch and then put the face plate back on upside down, now the cords come out the top. Just be careful of alignment with the face plate or the buttons will be hard to push. The stop paddle and start button both work very well. Stop paddle has never fallen off and has stopped the tool every time I wanted it to. The switch box mounts to a surface flush with the back using two screws or bolts. Theres no means of side mounting it to an upright leg or stile without it sticking out 4 inches so this is somewhat inconvenient but it's easy to build a bracket to screw it to. 4Worth every pennyJust installed it on my Delta 34 444 table saw. Works great. The motor accepts a computer power cord so I got one rated for 15 amps from amazon ($7). Mounted the switch plugged everything in and it s done. Of course it comes from Rockler so you know it s going to be good 5Sturdy, uses plug-in cords (not hardwire), no real power limit. This switch works very well. Originally 40 bucks, Ive seen it for 20 during black Friday and 30 currently. This is one of the very few such switches I have found that has actual PLUG INS. Basically you plug this into your socket or extension cord, then from this switch to your device. Most are actual switches that you have to wire up.This one is also good because it does not have any power limitations. Its 15 Amp, 1875 Watt UNLIKE all the remote-controlled versions. Not only are they power limited but also die with bigger motors that pull a lot of startup current. I guess they use solid state switches instead of a straight up mechanical switch. Dinky ones at that.SO if you want to use this for your Router or table saw or vacuum,, this is the way to go. The cheap-o remote controlled ones WILL die on you... I already had one bite the dust within 30 days, when you exceed their rather pathetic specs (like a 1/4 HP motor max or some such). 5Works perfect for my baby band saw, no loss-of-power cutoff thoughI bought this to mount on the SWAG Portaband table for my bandsaw. I used zip ties to hold the saw trigger down and used this power switch to turn the saw on. I took the big stop sign off, it is easy to snap off and on.The main reason I went for this was its no-fuss construction: plug the tool in one end and plug the other end into the wall outlet.I didn't want to drill mounting holes, so I used heavy duty double-sided foam tape from 3M to secure it in place. My only gripe is that for this price I had hoped that it would have a magnetic power cutoff feature, so on loss of power the tool wouldn't restart--cheaper models have this feature, so it would have been nice. 4Cannot give it 6 starsI cant give this 6 stars but, the image of this paddle switch and the description do not make justice. I thought I was purchasing something similar to my cabinet saw switch - this switch is considerably larger. the stop paddle is pretty large, you cannot miss it. it is heavy, the plastic enclosure which is sealed is heavy itself. the wires are marked as 14Ga. it is a rubber style flexible wire. One has the male end (for the outlet) the other has a female end (for the tool) however, I will be cutting it off since I am connecting a motor inside the motor connection box with wire nuts.It attaches with 2 machinery bolts & nuts (which are also included). I will be using wood screws anyways.I was not expecting this switch to be so heavy duty but I guess being sold by Rockler it is fully intended to be used for woodworking machinery so its the right one. thanks 5So nice! I'm really glad I installed this.So this unit is designed to go between your tools cord and the wall. So you plug this in then you plug into its output cord. It's in-line if you will. Very simple. You need only mount it to your machine. I chose to shorten the cord to the machine and run it directly to the motor eliminating my stock switch altogether. The placement on my table saw works great as a leg actuated shut off. Super product. 5Love the concept, but only worked for a short time.I have had this switch for a year now. I have it on my router which I don't use very often since woodworking is just a hobby. I love the switch, but it quit working after a year. I took it apart and there isn't much to it. It was very clean inside and everything looked good so I put it back together and it worked...once. Now it doesn't work again. I can't figure out the problem since there really isn't anything to this. Maybe it is just the one I got, but I am disappointed in the switch, and will have to look for another. These things are the only way to go when your router is mounted in a table. 2
