easy to useI get the big one gallon tea bags from Lipton, stick them in the basket and pour it full of boiling water. I like my tea unusually strong so an hour later I pour it on ice and am good to go. I see people complaining about sloppy pouring, try turning the cap open so the slot in it lines up with the spout. Do that and you have no problems, this is not rocket science but then I know people who can't check the oil in their own cars either. I drink cold tea all day long so this pot gets a good workout, it comes apart to make cleaning easy, just unscrew the top. Excellent item! 5Great until it brokeI loved this pitcher....until it broke. After a little more than 30 days, a piece with a little white sealant ring broke off of part of the internal lid and now the tea strainer will no longer hold in place and the pitcher itself won't pour properly. 1Just what I was looking for.I wanted to find a gallon pitcher for ice tea that wouldn t stain the way my old Rubbermaid pitcher did. This one does that very nicely. 5From a daily iced tea drinker - I love this cold brew system!I drink 3 quarts of iced tea a day year 'round so my old Mr. Coffee electric hot brew maker wore out. I was doubtful about this one but Amazon returns are sooo easy I thought I would at least try it. I love it! First, the flavor of the cold brew tea seems to be a big notch above the hot brew system. Second, it is super easy. I just load the tea, fill the pitcher with water, and put it in the fridge overnight. Presto, in the morning I fill up my quart jars and off I go for the day! No messing with ice which can dilute the flavor. Third - if I want tea right away I can just fill the pitcher with hot water and it takes 5 minutes, add ice, I'm good to go. Last but not least, it holds a full gallon whereas my old hot electric iced tea maker only brewed 3 quarts. I am super, super pleased with this purchase! 5Used a few times, then the gasket broke in pieces while cleaning, now leaks while pouringGasket in the handle came out in pieces while I was washing the pitcher. Without the gasket it leaks from the handle.I contacted Amazon, was told since 30 days past purchase to contact manufacturer.I contacted the manufacturer requesting a new gasket and never received a response.I tried to use an extra gasket provided with my Bullet. The pitcher no longer leaks however the gasket is a different thickness so the handle is not lined up and I cannot use the door storage in my refrigerator. 1Great tea pitcher/makerWe purchased this tea pitcher and now make tasty tea with no stress! We had the Mr. coffee tea maker and it randomly leaked all over the counter. The last straw was when it leaked and caused water damage to the wood floor. We actually took out the center tea holder and put the tea bags in the water, leave it in the fridge for 2-3 days. When it s ready we transfer to another picker and start another one. So we always have tea being brewed . We use caffeine free green or black flavored herbal teas. 5Couple of kinks otherwise great!Make a ton of iced tea with this thing. Works really well. Only a couple of kinks. One, on mine a screen is too short which leads to ingredients getting into the tea. Two, the plastic scratches easily when mixing in sugar (i just use a wooden spoon and marks everywhere). Really like how everything comes apart though which makes cleaning really easy. 4Does not work well for LOOSE teaThe internal strainer cylinder that holds the tea has no lid on the inside of the strainer. Loose tea mostly floats, it resists sinking. As you fill the pitcher with water, the tea floats upwards and eventually will spill into the pitcher water making a big mess. Alternatively, if you shake the pitcher or stir it vigorously the same result will occur. This problem could have been simply avoided if they had designed the strainer to have its own internal lid to prevent overflow of tea leaves into the tea water. 2Wide and Sloppy PourI was NOT given this pitcher at a discount and offer the following... The pitcher is everything that the other reviewers have stated. It is large, easy to clean, handles well, etc... I am very disappointed with the pour, however. It is wide and sloppy and best poured over a sink to avoid cleanup. I would not repurchase. 32 years going strong.I bought this over 2 years ago and its still going great. I use to it make tea a couple times a week. My only complaint is lid part with the handle where the threads are to attach it to the clear part is a pain to clean and will get moldy if you aren't careful. 5
