    You Need TheseThis was a great purchase. They make my life so much easier when preparing ravioli and empanadas. A bit of a learning curve with knowing how much stuffing to put in, but once you get it down, this is easy breezy.A few tips is to make sure your dough covers the ridges completely. When you close it, press down hard enough to make sure the edges seal properly, and before opening, pull off any excess dough from the side. Also, if you find you dough sticking to these, just rub a tiny bit of flour on the inside.This is so much easier and more quick then making empanadas, turnover, ravioli, etc, by hand. Highly reccommend. 5Broken and unusable, problem with manufacturer's packaging.Received broken. In my opinion it seems to be a problem with Progressive Intl, since the Amazon packaging was ok, but the box that Progressive Intl (or the manufacturer it employs) provided had too much free space in it, so the pieces were allowed to bounce around too vigorously. Both hinges on the middle-sized blue press were broken, and the body of the largest red press was chipped off. This meant that one out of the three came unusable straight out of the packaging. Something needs to be done in regards to package protection for overseas destinations, because the current box simply fails at keeping the products whole and usable.The product itself seems fine if it weren't borken or chipped off. 2Needs ImprovementI was hoping these would the end all to making different food items such as empanadas, perogies, etc. Well. as a few people have pointed out there is one major flaw with this set. When you are crimping the dough sags down into the crevice and can be difficult to push back up. I found that many of my empanadas were not completely sealed even though the dough was thick enough to not cause any issues. This is my 2nd experience with a Prepworks by Progessive product and unfortunately has not been as pleasant. I recommend that the circle on the bottom be extended by an inch so there is more room for crimping. I'll keep the set but considering the one major flaw it has I might just resort to using the largest dough cutter. 3Using them for empanadasI plan to try to make small pies with these, but I really got them for empanadas. I buy the goya pre made wrappers. I do find they stick a little but if you press them while they are in the wax paper and wet the inside of the empanada it works really well. Also the crimp isn't too big. There is still plenty of room for filling 4Empanadas ExpressGreat tools in the kitchen. I ve now become the empanada chef in our house. Next attempt will be making potstickers/won-tons. Also, will be making some hand-held fruit pies. Implements are super easy to clean and I really like the fact that the bottoms cut the right sized cut-outs. 4Easy and fun to use.Any issues with this product can be solved with trial and error, bigger dough circle, too much filling, better dough. ..etc.I used a dough recipe I found on the internet to make beef empanadas. On a few the dough squished out the back of the press which may have been from too much filling. Also some did not seal properly, I think the dough might need to be slightly bigger than the circle, or maybe need to brush edges with water. Overall a great product for the price, I think I will have fun trying lots of different recipes. 4Perfect size for my "empanaditas"Perfect size for my "empanaditas". Love the good quality of the material, easy to clean. Tip, use with a little piece of plastic wrap before you place the dough in order to avoid sticky dough to get stuck on the surface. 4A Life Saver!!!This dough press has been a life saver! Made over 65 empanadas in a fraction of the time it normally takes me. I would usually use a fork to seal the empanadas. By the time I would be done making over 50 empanadas, my fingers would be in so much pain. My fingers would look like I was holding up gang signs. Gone are the days of having to use a fork! 5Goya EmpanadasI wanted to post this review in case anyone was wondering. The blue in the bunch is great for Goya Empanadas discs. I sealed it without anything inside to try it out. It worked pretty well and will get the job done. Two recommendations, use flour when pressing the empanadas and press hard to seal it tight. 4Easy and fastThese are absolutely awesome, my daughter and I made two different size of empanadas, we love the fact that there is a circle cookie cutter on the opposite side of this product to cut out your dough. Then you place the circle dough on the inside for your empanadas maker, it's super easy. We learned the hard way that putting too much meat will make the empanadas bulge out of the back of this product when you squeeze it down. Other than that, this is a perfectly well made items, and I will be buying more. 5
