Customer Reviews

Awesome for our homeschooling family! What a fantastic placemat! We homeschool our three children, and I have been collecting various placemats to have on the table for when we eat, while they are waiting for dinner to be served or for when they are finished, they engage in studying the placemats. Its an awesome educational tool that inspires questions, games and trivia! I will slowly be acquiring other placemats so we have a variety. 5not as advertisedProduct photo is in color. Actual mat in black and white, not as attractive or useful. 1This is the perfect size for my study deskI'm in college Chemistry 111. The periodic table that came with my textbook was only about 4x6 inches, and very hard to read without squinting. This is the perfect size for my study desk. It doesn't take up a whole wall like the large posters, but is easy to read.It is a bit cluttered with a lot of information, but that doesn't bother me.The fact that it's laminated is a plus, since I sometimes eat meals while studying. It also helps it to stand up against the wall almost on its own. 5The sizeI thought I would buy this for a BioChemistry class because those paper periodic tables they give us are small and hard to read. This was great for class. I couldn t use it for tests though because it had a lot of information on it. I just needed something simple. Atomic number, atomic weight, just the basics. This thing had so much more. And I don t know what I was thinking, but it is a large placemat. I guess I was thinking durable and easy to wipe like a placemat, but the size of a sheet of paper. No, this thing is much larger. 4Very useful and durable. My two sons are starting to become more interested in chemistry and physics. Properties of elements come up in their discussion and questions about school and at home hobby projects. I took Chem and Organic chem 20+ years ago and I don't remember a lot but I do remember that the periodic element is organized in such a way that it explains the commonalities of the elements by column and row. My husband and kids really liked the first one I bought and asked for one of their own each. My older son who consistently get As in his private school science class keeps his on his HW desk. I think that the size, waterproof-ness, durability and color is what makes it user friendly. I remember that my books in high school the periodic table was in these inside covers and there was one book where it was on the back cover and that was super useful. I would have liked one of these back then. 5The 7-yr-old's Favorite PlacematI like how the back is a dry erase quiz format. We got several types of these and this one is a favorite and a good fodder for questions and exploration. I also like the Math Set - Educational Kids Placemats Set of 5: Fractions, Multiplication, Division, Subtraction, Addition - Bundle, Non Slip Washable, however, the smooth side on this kind allows for the dry erase fun. 5Great visual aid for teaching children (and adults) the metric system.Sturdy mat, excellent for introducing the metric system. I bought approximately 9 learning place mats from individual vendors on Amazon for our 4 year daughter and kept those with the best visuals and most thorough information. This was a keeper (the money mat, minerals mat, and the world map mat were sent back as they seemed lacking in information). It would be nice if Amazon would offer the learning place mats at a bundled price, individually they seemed overpriced with Prime shipping. The anatomy mat, colors mat, addition mat, US states mat, and multiplication mat were other "keepers". Daughter choose her interest and rotates them. A good leaning investment. 5All information easily read in daylightI tutor the late night shift in an on-line center. I bought this to hang by my computer so that I could see information in an instant. The table contains all of the information that I typically need. Unfortunately, the purple is so dark that I cannot read the black lettering in the light we have available. I can turn to the other side, which is white. It has all the information except the symbols. I have not decided whether to copy in symbols or keep a flashlight by the desk. It is great in daylight--very convenient and readable. If they ever make it with lighter d and f sections, I will buy another one. 4homework lifesaverMy son struggles with his multiplication tables. Doing math homework takes an eternity as he struggles to recall them. We've tried flash cards, apps and all kinds of tricks but they just don't stick. Frankly I can't recall most of my multiplication facts quickly either and I am a gainfully employed adult.I put this matt down on the kitchen table next to him when he does his homework. He's able to quickly find the answer as he does more complex (3 digit and 4 digit) multiplication problems, and it saves a lot of time, frustration and tears. He still has to do the individual steps unlike just using a calculator to solve the entire problem. 5Great dual purpose placematsThese placemats are brilliant, I absolutely love them. I purchased the Periodic Table, Map of United States and the World Map. These are the size of any regular placemat and I thought it would be a good conversation piece for my teenage kids and I. It totally worked, they don't even realize that I did this on purpose but they can't help but look at it and have small talk with me about it. It is colorful, informative, wipes clean, the rear side is blank so you can quiz yourself using a dry-erase marker and great for all ages. In addition, I play bar trivia with friends so I am also trying to brush up on my general knowledge :-). 5
