    Nice while they last I wanted good spoons for my enamelware, and they did the trick for a few weeks. I understand these are not finished, so I made sure to handwash every use, promptly dry and apply mineral oil so they wouldn't dry out. Alas, this did no good and the largest spoon has developed cracks in 3 places on the tip of the soon that are slowly making it downward. I'll keep using the smaller ones till they fail too, but I'll be getting another brand next time. 2Quality, classy, look great! I purchased these spoons after seeing them as part of a display at the Container Store and LOVE them. This is odd to say about a wooden spoon, but these are quality, have a great thick handle that feels good in your hand, have a deep indent on the head, and look great. In traditional Oxo fashion, they feel like a high-end kitchen utensil should.I read other reviews about cracking and splitting, but I simply treated mine with a light amount of mineral oil and they look better and will hold up even better.I rate a perfect 5/5 and would definitely purchase again!!!Thank you for reading and rating my review! 5Nice wooden spoons, need sanding and mineral oil These spoons are a pretty nice. They are an interesting shape--a little more 'scoop' than a typical flat wooden spoon, and a larger more comfortable handle.I like them and think they will do the job fine.I saw the reviews indicating the spoons were rough. When I first received them, they didn't seem very rough, but after an initial washing, the surface of the wood did open up a bit and they did become noticeably rough, so I sanded and oiled them. It is very easy to sand them and only takes about 15 minutes, but I would have gladly paid more money for them to be properly sanded, and even oiled.I started with 150 grit sandpaper, which smoothed out the rough spots, then followed up with 220 grit, which gave them a soft smooth surface. Because the wood feels relatively soft, I didn't bother using sandpaper finer than 220 grit. There was a huge difference after sanding, so I highly recommend it if you have some 150 and/or 220 sandpaper handy.After I sanded them and washed them off, I let them dry completely. I then coated them with food grade mineral oil--I still have a bottle of "Tree Spirit Mineral Oil" that I used on my wood cutting board. There appear to be a few types on Amazon, listed as "cutting board oil". I'm applying several coats of oil to the spoons over several days before I use them again.The instructions on my mineral oil bottle say to apply a coat once a day for a week, then once a week for a month, and then once a month after that. It also says after washing the wood, dry promptly and thoroughly. And never wash the wood in the dishwasher. 4Work great, just don't wash them in the dishwasher As soon as I finally did a little research on why my wooden spoons keep getting cracks a few months after buying them, I discovered you're not supposed to put them in the dishwasher. I've been washing these by hand, and they are holding up very well. 5Sturdy and great set! Excellent BUT be sure to oil them beforw the first use with coconut oil or olive oil or lard as you would a wood cutting board. They last longer and won't dry out or crack if you do that!! 5Oxo wooden spoons-- Nirvana I cook a lot. I love these spoons! Great to hold , comfortable, easier for seniors ( thicker handle and not slippery). And best of all they get all those places in the pot you're stirring. Wash them when you're finished and don't leave them soaking in water. The little spoon is great for stirring sauces, custards or oatmeal. I bought four more sets for Christmas presents. 5One Star These spoons are awful. I can t use them. They are not sealed. They are dry and splinter 1Better than expected These spoons are better than expected. The small one is just right for my small hands to hold for simple cooking jobs, and the medium and large are comfortable to hold, as well. I handwashed and towel-dried them carefully, then let them air dry before applying the homemade spoon butter (virgin coconut oil melted with some local beeswax and kept as a paste for application) I use for all our wood utensils and cutting boards. I rub in a little spoon butter after washing and drying now, and these are holding up well. I even used the large one for stirring blueberry jam and there is no staining thanks to the careful maintenance. Eventually, I should be able to apply the spoon butter only occasionally as these wear and harden with use and care. Be aware they are made in China, if that concerns you, but you also get all three spoons for a quarter to a third of the price of one USA artisan-made wooden spoon. I know; I shopped for a long time before settling on this set. 5Soooo very disappointed! I got them last Thursday used them and ... Soooo very disappointed! These are an awesome addition to any kitchen! My dad is a master chef and insists that I always have a wooden spoon on hand should he come and visit. However, the ones I've had in the past were so flat they were practically useless for anything besides stirring. What I love about these spoons is they are curved just enough to be useful as a scoop or server as well as a stirrer. It is also nice to have a variety of sizes. I would definitely buy these again if/when they eventually break. 5
