    Good ProductArrived in perfect condition and looks sharp and neat. Provides good privacy at low cost. The four panel is about the length of a bed when standing (not flat). Probably should have gone with the 5 or 6 panel to completely conceal our bed in our small apt, but this works fine with small exception. Recommended. 4Expensive, attractive, durableI purchased a six-panel screen in black, and the product itself is quite attractive. The hinges appear solid, the wood is evenly painted with no nicks or damages in shipping, and the screen material seems fairly durable for what it is. I was expecting thin rice paper, but the material is more like a stretched cotton with a fibrous texture. Although not as traditional, it still looks great and seems like it would hold up against tearing better. Unfurled with the panels at 90 degrees, which looks best, the screen is not quite wide enough to cover the back of my couch, but it is wide enough to cover nearly most of it, the surround sound speaker stands, and the basement pole I wanted to disguise.One thing worth noting is that the shoji slat decorative pattern I received differs from that of the image here. Apparently unannounced substitutions are commonplace with cheap Japanese trading companies. For the price, I would have expected better product consistency, so for the high price and different product received, I'm docking a star. However, the panel pattern that I did get is still very attractive and is in no ways a disappointment. It looks much more like a double cross pattern similar to that of a Japanese desk lantern I've seen here. I wanted to get the lantern to match, but the distributor was out of stock.Overall I'm very satisfied with the product, and if a touch pricey for what I expected to pay, apparently it's reasonable compared to what's on the market. The product is attractive and looks like it will hold up well. 4Much better than I hoped!The screen arrived very promptly and was even better than I'd hoped. The frame is very sturdy and the design is very elegant. It was a gift for my daughter and she was absolutely thrilled with it. The design suited her taste - very modern and yet classy - would suit either modern or traditional rooms. I would definitely recommend this screen/company to anyone. 5A Level 3 Product That Could Be A Level 5 With Just One Inexpensive ImprovementThis review is for the four-panel, black version of the Oriental Furniture Asian Screen DividerFirst, the Good News:1- The screen is attractive as to the combination of black wood and the off white rice-paper screen background2- The screen arrived in a timely manner (3 days after ordering)3- The screen packing in the shipping box was well designed as to suitable Styrofoam protection.Second, the unfortunate news:The pictures on Amazon for the black screen clearly show BLACK hinges for every model version (3 through 6 panel sections). Unfortunately, what was displayed on the webpage is not what was delivered. Instead of black hinges, "brass" colored hinges were used. The "brass" hinges had a noticeably unattractive metallic look, and apparently bottom of the barrel in price, as the hinges already showed tarnish signs. The hinges were so gaudy looking, that I went out and purchased three sets of black hinges (at a cost of $2.50 per set). I then replaced the "brass" hinges, which took close to an hour with the old hinge removal, screw hole adjustment drills, black hinge installs, etc.Recommendation to the Manufacturer: For a $199.00 product, consider spending a dollar more per hinge pair for some basic black hinges. AN extra $3 won't break the bank, but it will make your product much more attractive, and save a consumer having to spend the time to install some decent black colored hinges. 3underwhelmedThe good reviews prompted me to buy one and when I received it I now have to second guess that some if not all of these reviews are fake. I ordered the cherrywood color and whoever the monkey was that painted it needs to take a painting course because there has to be no less than 4 different shades of color on it. The wood is CHEAP and feels like I just bought the thing off some bootleg stall on some dark china town street. The hinges on it feel cheap as well and I thought thing was just gonna fall apart on me the moment I took it out. The only reason I'm giving it 2 stars and not 1 is because it stands and it didn't burst into flames or something. This thing is NOT worth $125 more like 40 and that's stretching it still. 2Cheap!Based on the other reviews of this product and it s price, I thought I would get a screen that was decent quality. Wow was I wrong. This screen is cheap. I have had many Japanese style Shoji screens over the years. This one was a huge let down. The interior wood is rough cut and very ugly. The paper has several areas where it doesn t lay flat and is noticeably warped and wavy. Overall not worth more than $40 or $50. 1Attractive & functionalExactly what it appears to be, good finish on the wood. The white fabric is translucent, so the design of the muntins or crosspieces will show through with any backlighting. Note that these crosspieces are just on one side. 4I love it BUT Poor workmanshipThe wood was jagged on one panel and a piece of chipped wood on the other panels. I love the design and ordered it again I hope that this time it is the quality that I expect it to be. This screen never should have passed inspection. 5Great panels but cheap hinges and productionReceived the black 5 panel screen and the two way hinges that were black in the picture were brass. Fine, I read a review that this happened before and the buyer bought their own black hinges and replaced them. Didn't think that would happen to me but it did. Fine, the hinges are brass but panels look great and what I wanted. Unfortunately two of the brass two way hinges had stripped screws (two different sizes) in the "100-percent kiln dried spruce" panels and I couldn't stand the screen up. I chose this screen for the design and quality and am let down. For $222.00 Amazon Prime I didn't think it would be put together so cheaply and now I have to go through the return process and look elsewhere screening out this manufacture. 2excellent decor, be gentle with itThe product arrived in good shape. It was already assembled and I am using it for 3 windows. I unscrewed the panels into 3 sets of two. One of them toppled on me and the paper material punctured and the wood split slightly on the side. It was unfortunate but such is life. This is very gentle material so be careful with how you position it. Nearly any fall will cause damage. But the product and price are very good. 5
