This is a waiting room for an Acupuncture office.5I think I'm in love . . .I absolutely adore this shoji screen! I bought two because I wanted to divide my living room from the dining room and cover part of my sliding glass door and they are absolutely perfect. Lightweight, easy to move around, the double jointed hinges are great, and it's sturdy enough that I didn't feel the need to invest in a stand. Yes, there are small gaps between the panels, but since those gaps are to accommodate the double hinges I really don't mind, I wasn't looking for a solid wall here. Ultimately they added a little bit of class and privacy to my apartment and they were a great deal for the price.5Exactly what I needed to get light and acquire privacy!I ordered two to cover a sliding glass door. The product came early. It was packaged well. I was happy to have two light weight easy to open and close screens. They do not come to the very top of the sliding door, but I wanted light to come into my room. These allow the right amount of light. They are modern and classy. They seem fairly durable and only have a slight flaw on one side. The wood is naturally warped but not in a way that makes it not stand perfectly square. I am able to reverse them and I have one facing the opposite way so they open in the middle of my door. They look fantastic!4Wide much better in pictures ........I wasn t expecting the sturdiest one, but for $225 paid, I didn t think was going to be the poor quality piece I received.....I'm worried that my dog can knock it down at any time, so you can have an idea how fragile it isAnd worse part: Not chance to return it, I need it and expecting guests tonight.2Sturdy and Attractive For the price point, this is a well-made product. Rice paper is secure, the wood frame is solid. I was pleasantly surprised at how easily the screen manouevers, given how wide it is. It folds, unfolds, and positions with ease.The only concern: On the top of a few of the hinges, there is what feels like an unfinished or unsmoothed piece of metal. It is not dangerous or scary or enough to injure, since these unfinished metal areas are very small. You can only find them if you're really feeling around. However, these sharp places did scratch the wall behind the screen when it was in storage.Overall, a very good item. 5VERY nice and stylishWe have an odd L shaped living room turns to dining room--with a fire place smack dab in the middle. My daughter graduated college and needed study space to study for her upcoming MCATs. She created a little office in the corner of the L and bought this room divider to set up behind the living room couch. Everyone in the family absolutely LOVEs how it looks! It really adds so much to the living room while proving very functional for my daughter's new office.It's well made; solid. But you do need to anchor it if you are going to have more than 3 panels open to one side. My daughter used lamp stands and they anchored it wonderfully--plus, it looks great!5questionable quality for the moneyThe first one I bought was damaged (partially in shipping). The 2nd one they sent was also partially damaged (one of the wooden frame pieces was broken). The 3rd one was ok. It stands up fine, but the narrow wooden pieces and the "paper" part was not as sturdy as I was hoping.That said - it does what I wanted it to do. I use it as an office background to hide the kids kitchen set and couch behind my office. Perfect for video calls. :) I had to get the 6 section one so it was wide enough to cover my background completely due to the field of view of the Cisco video endpoint in my office. The downside is I have to just store it in my basement and it's not the easiest to lug up and down the stairs. But I'm not sure what else I'd use as a background. I didn't want to just hang a sheet!Bottom line - it does what it needs to, but the quality isn't great for how expensive it is.3Just enoughThis fits my space perfectly. It's very light weight. It obstructs line of sight but not light. You can see through the gaps where the panels meet and are hinged together.5good buyThe screen looks very nice; would have given 5 stars if it was made with black or even plain steel hinges instead of the brass hinges. ( I will paint them eventually) There are a couple of the narrow cross pieces that didn't get sanded down as well as all of the others, but so far haven't injured any fingers on them. The panels move easily to open and shut, and the screen itself seems pretty sturdy. I would buy from this company again.4Very Poor Quality - looks like a factory second of an old display model off the showroom floor.Do NOT get the 5 panel in white!!! You will notice it has a different description then all the rest - it must come from a different supplier and that is why it is such poor quality and why I would give it one star, when everyone else is giving theirs 4 or 5 stars - because they must not g[have gotten the 5 panel in white!Here is what is wrong with mine: lots of small chips, smudge marks, and the wood on the cross bar looks like second quality - some cracks in wood. Also the paint on the cross bars is like a thin primer coat that never received the finish coat - very light and does not adequately cover the wood on the cross bars. Honestly, it looks like a factory second that was a display model. I paid about $210 with shipping. I estimate the value at about $50 (what I MIGHT pay for it off a store floor as a display model). I will say the basic size and design is great, but the execution and quality is so very poor. So, why am I thinking of keeping it? Too busy to return it and the shipping costs to return would be very high. I have had great luck on the internet, but i got burned this time - really bad as in "Toast and money is uo in smoke!"1It worked great for privacy and also for staging our home when ...We needed some privacy in a bathroom located within our laundry room. The best part was there was no assembly required, the hinges were already on the divider and it simply came out of the box ready to use.5
