Customer Reviews

Works perfectly for sucking brake fluid out of a master cylinder! Works perfectly for sucking brake fluid out of a master cylinder! Just in case anyone was wondering... 5Amazing LOL, really, I think these things have been around since Noah. Preety sure it made it onto the ark. Baster does the job intended but there are other uses besides basting turkeys. I have used it for my sons swimmers ear. Saved me money from going to the clinic for simple fix. I will leave that picture to your imagination. Keep several on hand and one in the medicine cabinet too. 5Works perfect just like my 25 year old one did before it sprung a leak! So ... Thanksgiving day and I get out my relatively new clear plastic pricey ($20) baster and hand it to my son who volunteered to baste the bird. A second later I hear "Uh mom, this isn't working (this being said by a 32 year old man)". The bulb would not stay in (when squeezed it popped off) and if you held it on ... it leaked air and so would not suck or hold the basting liquid. To say the timing stunk would be an understatement as my 17# bird wanted a bath BAAAAD. Oh well, duct tape to the rescue and I immediately ordered this baster (which I should have done in the first place) which was basically the same as my 25 year old baster. I used it to cook a turkey breast (for "leftovers") a few days later and it was just perfect - worked like it should. Live and learn ... newfangled fancy does not mean quality and utility. 5Great for fish tanks! I actually use this in my fish tank. Instead of bring my large gravel vacuum out for little clean ups, that can be a hassle. I can spot clean daily with this. I have a 45 gallon female Betta Sorority and I feed my fish repashy gel fish food that sinks to the bottom of the tank and can be a little messy, I also feed them peas a couple times a week to avoid swim bladder/constipation issues. So by using this turkey baster it performs similar to a aquarium vaccum and i m able to remove the extra uneaten food, live plant debrie and fish waste without having to use my large vaccum with a bucket that would remove more water than needed. This way my tank looks cleaner and will have better water quality because waste isn t sitting at the bottom creating extra ammonia in the tank. 5Turkey Baster Cooking Recipe: 1994 Mazda Miata Edition First of all, I would like to thank Amazon for sending me an email to give a review and even recipe for the turkey baster. Today, we will be cooking a 1994 Mazda Miata 5-speed transmission. Our ingredients include:-1994 Mazda Miata-1 Turkey Baster-1 Qt Redline MT-90 or preferred gear oil.-10mm Socket-Phillips screw driver.First off, remove the center console/cup holder by unscrewing 5 Phillips screws in various locations. Take off the shift knob and pull console off.Upon disassembly of the shifter assembly (use your brain and the 10mm), remote the shifter kit of the trans hole and use the turkey baster to suck up and spit out the vile and well aged gear old. Note the subtle yet pungent smell that can only be described as Taco Bell night gone wrong mixed with crushed hopes and dreams. Deposit the fluid into a sandwich bag. Add fresh and very slick MT-90 to the trans hole. Proceed to spill gear oil everywhere. Reassemble in reverse fashion and curse/cry in a corner when the assembly doesn t plop right back in the hole and/or injures you in various ways including slipping and punching the transmission or slamming the shifter into your other hand. Now that your car is fully assembled and you ve sheared at least one bolt head into the transmission, mend to your wounds and clean up your mess. Congratulations, you have successfully rebuild and swapped the turret shifter assembly for a 1994 Mazda Miata.Extra Notes:Heat resistance: Yes. I think.Suction Power: Think of the suction power of a $20 stick vacuum but with the diameter of a thin straw. This poor baster got full after 20-30ml.Easy to Clean: If you re picking up over 100,000 mile old transmission gear oil, good luck. You will forever have the scent, color and taste of GL-5 gear oil in the baster. It will also forever have a metallic grey tinge to it. I recommend tossing this item away after single use, unless you are trying to give yourself 31 flavors of cancer. If you do not intend to become the Baskin Robbins of illness, discard after use.Thank you for Cooking with M C Understeer! 3Don't buy it . . . it will not hold the broth in until you can baste the turkey with it. I am very disappointed with this baster. This Thanksgiving I roasted a turkey for the first time. I had never even opened the package.I would squeeze the bulb and suck in some "turkey juice" and before I could baste the turkey the broth squirted out of the side. I tried holding the bulb, I tried the almost impossible trick of keeping it straight up and down and it still would not hold the broth. I ended up with it squirting all over the place.I am not happy even though the purchase price was very "cheap" as, in my opinion, was the product, " cheap" 1No suction - FAIL I read reviews & had high hopes for this no-frills old school baster... well, it doesn t hold suction & when you attempt to tip it vertical (not to drip transferring liquids) the bulb leaks. Maybe I got a bad one? I mean I guess I shouldn t be surprised for $4 1Better than expensive stainless alternatives Best baster you can buy. Bought the expensive stainless alternative and it was a bust. The bulb is what wears out, not the tube. The bulb on the stainless model is soft and comes off all the time, really foolish. This nylon one will last forever and the bulb is snug and well made. Save the bucks and use this one... light, tight, well made. 5I bought this to use to clean out a small ... I bought this to use to clean out a small (3 gallon) fish tank. It has been working quite well for that purpose, however, now that I have had it for a few months I am noticing the bulb is starting to leak water a little bit when I suction water in. This is a bit disappointing but I am still using the product. So far it is still functional. 3Great for watering plants I don't eat meat, but this baster works great for my needs. I use it to water my African violets. They like being watered from the bottom tray, not the top of the pot, so the baster makes it easy. 5
