    Maybe a low end version of the brandAfter the second home improvement store didn't have this size, I go to Amazon on my cell phone and ordered this particular item. I didn't check all the reviews and I was a little skeptical they were so cheap when they were about 20 bucks apiece right in front of me.They came in a sealed Nordic Pure box but are very generic looking. Nothing on the actual filter says NP. I question whether they are truly NP brand but the filters on the NP site run about $10 each so theoretically, they could be. I measured them and they are indeed the size it indicates. Finally, the ones I got don't have as many pleats as shown. As for how they work remains to be seen but I'll be checking in a few weeks to see what it looks like. 3excellent productI live in Florida, the land of allergies. These work great for me but I do have to change them every month or my sinuses let me know about it. These have worked just as good as the higher priced filters and I just order a 6 month supply at a time. Can't beat the deal, especially since I have free shipping. Saves me hunting all over town. 5Works greatThese filters are not the cheapest. The size I use is not available in many stores. I found it at Walmart, even more expensive and from a different manufacturer. The main thing is that the HVAC tech told me that these are the best filters on the market, so I feel confident that at least I get quality for the money I spend. 5The carbon filters make a big difference in home's air ...The carbon filters make a big difference in home's air quality. With cats and elderly bedridden parent I have to stay on top of odors and using these with my HVAC unit helps make that possible. 5Be careful! SIZES ARE 1/2 LESS THAN SIZES YOUR ORDERING! ** It can be a big issue-Be careful, I needed 18x20x1 a hard size to find & only online. Well, some filters say " actual size" others do not, & it's confusing on which you need. I bought these due to it's good MERV rating, but they are smaller than actual size stated. They are a bit short on both sides & do not make a nice solid fit. I'm using them due to buying it from the Warehouse deals & the box was slightly damaged & I got a good price. Can't return though. I will use these until I get the real actual size filters. I'm afraid that without the proper fit, air escapes around filter, & not energy efficient . Filters are really good, but what the size says is NOT what you get! So order carefully.Instead of 18 in . It's 17.5 & not 20 in. It's 19 3/4 x 1 But it says on the box 18-20-1 Then it states actual dimensions ?Why isn't it the size it says??? Ugh. Sized poorly, but filter would be great. 3Very disappointed with product because it is too smallI purchased a whole case of these and they are all over a half inch small on both sides and .75 in deep, not and inch. This makes the filter lift up every time it comes on and it lifts the filter and pulls it tight to the top. Apparently when it shuts down it lands awkward and falls through. When I installed it, it seemed small but I had no idea it was so small that it would fall out. I ordered and used the size stated on the unit. Never had problems before with other filters but this really bite me. It must have fallen out shortly after installing because when I went to change it yesterday I noticed the fall. I reinserted it because it appeared clean and it fell out again today. I got under the unit, looked up at the vents and my vents were covered with dust and even what appeared to be back mold. I've had a double lung transplant and mold is the last thing I need. I am really pissed off at this company. I have been suffering with a lung infection for two months and am currently on home IV antibiotics. 1Great filtersMy a/c unit needs an odd-sized filter, 18x20, that I can never find in stores. Lucky for me, here they are in a convenient 6-pack on Amazon. On top of that, they are a high MERV rating, not a flimsy piece of junk that is a filter in name only. These things catch a lot of dust, pet hair and soot from our fireplace. We can smell the difference in the house. I've seen popular-size filters with this high a MERV rating in the store for upwards of $20 each, so the average price of $8 for the size I need, plus free shipping right to my door, I was more than pleased. I've already ordered a second batch, and will do so again.I've taken a couple photos to show you all exactly how much dirt these things trap. We own cats, rabbits, and 2 fireplaces--lots of dust and hair in the air that killed our previous unit. These filters are catching it all. 5Charcoal filter really does absorb odorsThis air filter is infused with charcoal. It is supposed to absorb odors and it really does. I have three big dogs and a cat. I noticed a difference iwth the dog smell in the area where the dogs sleep. I also noticed a difference in the amount of time it takes for cooking smells to clear. Although the package says the filters can last up to 90 days I change the filters every 30 to 45 days. I will buy these again and would encourage anyone to try them especially if they cook spicy foods. 5Great value for those who hate dusting!We have an older home that likes to generate lots of dust. Buying the cheap filters from the box stores don't seem to help matters, and their premium filters are way overpriced. After using Nordic Pure, I've noticed a marked decrease in the amount of dust that lands on our furniture. The MERV 8 rating does mean it catches more impurities from the air than lower quality filters, but do know that it may decrease your airflow a bit. That said, we haven't had noticed any issues with our AC working harder. The filters are supposed to last up to 3 months, but since these are priced so low, I'm probably going to change them ever 1 month during our higher use months. 5do your research first...Furnaces do need filters and they need to be replaced once in a month or two depending on the time of the year. This is the second set of 6 I have purchased and so far I am happy. They are reasonably priced compared to the other similar items in the market and also other vendors (it fluctuates between $8-9 per filter on amazon).Some people find MERV 12 which is the highest home level filter in the market (I don't include the industrial ones with smaller pores and better filtration abilities) as the ultimate solution for their filtration needs since it filters smaller particles that pass through the lower MERV models. However some people find this high MERV ones as over kill and an extra burden to the fan due to the higher resistance it creates. For sure these get clogged quicker too.This is a long debate that has been going on and there is no simple answer whether this one is the ultimate solution or the ultimate burden, I recommend you do your own research and make your own decision (no one here including myself is capable of calculating the extra burden vs the extra capacity) But if you end up going for this one, all I can say is that I am happy with the product quality and the price in amazon marketplace 5
