Customer Reviews

It depends on your child's personality My 18 month old is one of the mechanical types. He intently studies objects to figure out how they work and then proceeds to pull them apart to learn more. If your kid is that way, then I'd say don't bother. The first time I handed my little man a catcher filled with cereal, he studied it for a moment...looked me straight in the eye as he pushed down the straps while flipping the thing upside down. I swear he was thinking, "Nice try mom." Cereal everywhere. On the next try he decided to pull out a handful of cereal and simply throw them across the room. There is no preventing that with any product. If you fill the cup up and just flip it upside down nothing will come out. Some of my friends swear by these and I can see why. The cups are a good quality and would make a great gift for the right kid, but I'd wait until you 'know' the toddler-not as a baby shower gift. I'm going to pass mine on to a mama-friend. Her baby has different preferences when it comes to product destruction, so they'll likely work for them. 3The lid can be easily pulled off by a smart kid. Get a twist on lid instead My 15mo already figured out how to pull the lid off... we ve had this for about a month week. His last snack cup had a twist lid that was perfect. He never figured out how to open it after months of use. He just lost it somewhere and I couldn t remember where I bought it so I got this as a replacement. Sure it s cheap but was still a waste of money for us because now his favorite thing to do is just pull the lid off. 1Must have for snack time! What an amazing invention these cups are. It's funny how many comments older generations made about these cups too; they wished they had them for their children and I don't blame them. These cups made snack time easy and relatively mess free. Perfect for on-the-go, in the car, or while grocery shopping. My daughter was able to easily get her hand into the cup and pull out a cracker without the entire contents coming out. The only times we had messes was when there were crumbs in the cup and she would shake the cup upside down OR figured out how to tip it upside down and push back the flaps to have her snack fall out. They are still in great condition after two years and we still use them but with the lids off now that our daughter is three. Practical and inexpensive purchase that makes snack time easy! 5Not ideal for a 1-yr old. The slots have gaps, so when my little man shakes it, his cheerios go flying. The floppy bits are also a bit hard and he's gotten his little hand pinched a couple times. And he has a tendency to stick everything in his mouth, so now he knows that if he chews the edge, the top comes right off. I also purchased this Munchin snack catcher, and it's AMAZING compared to this one (well worth the extra money): https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01N6E81JT/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1 3There was a mess everywhere!!!! It didn't work out for me. I was so disappointed. My grandson (11 months) figured out real quick that he could use his fingers to hold the flaps down. He'd then turn it upside down and shook everything out! A whole container of snacks....dumped out. So, they can be "hacked" by small children. I would only use these for carrying purposes. 1These things rock, slap a cheapo carabiner on them and its perfect. These things are a lifesaver for a toddler on the go. I throw a cheapo dollar store carabiner on them and its perfect. I use these every day at the store as a easy way to keep my kiddo happy. The carabiner makes sure that when he gets bored or tries to get my attention that it doesn't get tossed overboard when I'm not looking (secured to seatbelt in shopping cart). Great size for most dry treats, keeps them off the floor and is a nice little diversion. The material is soft on the top so it won't hurt little hands but provides plenty of positive containment for the goods inside. Cleaning is a snap, just a quick wipe down usually, but I've thrown them in the dishwasher too when more heavily soiled. Great buy, and huge mess saver. 5Lid Come Off Too Easily I've had these for a few years now, bought a set for my daughter 3 years ago and a couple months ago order another set for my youngest. In theory these are great. Easy to hold, easy to clean, look attractive and for the most part hold in most snacks. However, they have one major design flaw. The lid pops off wayyyy too easily. My 16 month discovered he can just tug on the lid and it comes off with little to no effort. Defeats the entire purpose if he can just open the lid and poor snacks all over the place. If the lid actually snapped into place or screwed on these would be perfect. 2Not so dishwasher safe These we re grea until they made their way to the dishwasher. They re supposed to be dishwasher safe on the top rack, but the cup came out a different shape than it was when it went in. Maybe my newer dishwasher just runs hotter than older ones.Concept is great and if I d just hand washed them I m sure we d be on better terms. For me though, I want to put everything in the dishwasher and know it s had a good cleaning. 3The good things about this are the name and colors !! I have always had high regards for Munhckin products for babies. In fact, we have half of the baby products at home from this brand. But this item is a waste of money (other than bright color and flashy name). Its ture that the snacks won t fall easily from tis. But it is also true that its difficult for the toddler to get the snack out from it when they actually need it. It is made of good plastic but has no practical valur due to its design.I will not recommend this item. 2Good Snack Cups These cups are great for little hands, but they are easy for the child to knock stuff out as they pull out the snack, especially small things like goldfish or Cheerios. I don t recommend using large snacks like apple slices, as they can either get stuck or make it too awkward for the child to maneuver out of the cup. Also, the lids start to stretch out as you take them on and off, either for washing or refilling or whatever, and eventually will get too worn out for the cup.We also recently discovered the plastic that the cup is made out of is soft enough for the child to bite and leave impressions, as our toddler pulled the lid off and gnawed on the cup one day.I don t ever recommend traveling with messy snacks, like crackers and the like, because I don t like eating in my vehicle. However, these cups do limit the mess and have been used by us for long trips. 4
