Customer Reviews

Works well, great buy! What I like: it does it s job perfectly! It sticks well and after 2 weeks it looks like it s going to stay.I read a review claiming their mat slipped around and made them fall. I m not sure how that s possible but if you want the best results, here s my suggestion: ( any surface you are expecting to use adhesive on must be free of dirt and build up and it must be dry)I used a mild abrasive bleaching cleanser. After rinsed, I dried the area and wiped it down with alcohol. What would be better:A bone colored mat optionIf the small bubbles weren t present ( tried my best to push them out)4great for sealing shower floor leaksThe fiberglass shower floor cracked, and needed a short term repair until finances are able to replace/upgrade the entire bathroom. This mat covered the crack in the fiberglass and allowed use of the shower until such time that the bathroom can be upgraded. Understand that fiberglass repair was performed but the crack reappeared once weight was placed on the floor. The mat since it covered the entire floor prevented the water from reaching the cracks in the fiberglass.5Unsafe Item, Avoid At All CostsPurchased this mat for obvious reasons, to prevent slipping and falling in the shower. I had become more concerned that the floor of my bathtub did not have proper traction and decided to purchase this mat because I was concerned about safety.Despite following the instructions carefully regarding installation, this mat failed on the first time I took a shower on it. The mat became loose from the surface and for the first time in the 14 years in my current shower I slipped and fell. Thankfully I managed my fall avoiding any impact. This mat is indeed a safety hazard and I will be returning it. I would strongly suggest everyone return theirs too, even if it is working for you. And if you are considering buying this item, ignore the good reviews at all costs and do not purchase this product. I always believed Moen made quality products but they should stick to what they know best, especially faucets.1Non-Slipping Works --Clean looking but hard to cleanI like that this product is a great way to prevent slipping in the bathtub. When I first installed it on a white bathtub it looked very very nice. I live in a place that has hard water with rust in it. I found that overtime the material had rust stains on it which I could not figure out how to clean properly. I don't want to use a strong rough solution on it because it may affect the plastic. The glue appeared very strong, however overtime the water started bubbling up underneath the glue and I had to remove the mat.As far as installation it was very easy to install and also cut to fit to size. I bought 2 mats one for the bottom and one for the back of the tub. because the back of the tub was curved and the plastic is not very pliable it did not work well on the back of the tub even though I sealed the edges with Flex Shot. One reviewer reported that this mat could be used on a refinished bathtub -- that is not true. Overtime the glue on the mat removed the bathtub refinishing after I removed the mat I had to refinish the bathtub all over again.I wish I knew about this mat before I refinish the bathtub. I like it better than suction cup mats that get dirty and greasy over time.In general I appreciate Moen products because they offer a guarantee and replace parts when they don't work.3Serves its purpose - no complaints! When my roommates and I moved into our apartment, the shower was new and the manufacturer had applied some sort of anti-slip surface to the shower floor. However, after about five years, the traction had completely worn away and our shower became dangerously slippery. To fix the problem (I am the official home improvement point person of my residence), I initially tried applying 7.5" Non-Slip Safety Shower Treads. I wish that I could write a review to tell other shoppers not to buy them, but I purchased them at our local hardware store and unfortunately I don't recall the brand...this serves at yet another reminder of why I normally buy everything online! Anyway, I followed all the application instructions (cleaned and dried the shower floor beforehand, left them for 12 hours without anyone using the shower so that the adhesive would set properly, etc.), but within one week, about 1/3 of them had come off on their own.I needed a plan B, and this Moen Tread Mat was it. It was incredibly easy to apply, and I appreciated that, unlike the tread strips that I had tried to use before, this mat does not require a post-application 12-hour setting period in which the shower cannot be used. (This might not sound like a big deal to most people, but our apartment consists of three women and only one shower, and we're all on completely different schedules, so it actually IS quite a hassle to find a 12-hour period when no one needs to use the shower.) It is a normal shade of white that blends right in with our shower floor. Both my roommates have given me positive feedback on it, and I concur.Best of all, our shower floor is no longer a trip to the emergency room waiting to happen!!! Remember, it's all fun and games til somebody breaks their neck.5This is a great productBought this for an old porcelain-over-cast-iron tub that was extremely slippery, especially after right after cleaning. I did have to trim the back end with scissors to fit the shape of the tub. To prepare the surface, I used Tilex Mold and Mildew Remover with Bleach and a nylon brush. I used a Mr Clean Magic Eraser to get any last bits of soap buildup, then another scrub with Tilex, and a rinse with hot water. I then set a fan by the tub and let it dry a couple of hours. Last I used some 90% isopropyl alcohol on a lint free cloth, and wiped the whole surface down and let it dry. To stick it on, I unrolled the whole sheet and laid it in the tub. I got it centered then I put short pieces of masking tape on each of the long sides of the mat to hold it in place. Next I peeled the backing down and folded it under about 4 inches from the drain end of the tub. Once the area around the drain was stuck down, I removed the masking tape, and slowly removed the backing and applied the mat just using my hand and slow back and forth motion. Got it on the first try with no bubbles. Will update if I have any problems5Glue is very strongI have one that is still on my bath tub after 8 years. Now buying one for another bathroom. I would have given it 5 stars had it not for the stickiness of the glue and I was unable to smooth 3 bubbles unless I ripped the whole thing off. It's on the tub for good with 2 big bubbles. There was also a lot of glue along the sides and it caught the fibers from my black socks4Product is okay, but the customer service is non-existent.The product itself is great minus the fact that the adhesive peeled off the actually mat during application. Possibly from being stored in a warehouse for too long and drying out. The edges of the mat came up immediately. I tried calling Moen to let them know and their automated phone system is ridiculous. It claims a long wait time of 45 minutes or I can request a call-back, but as soon as you enter in a time it tells you that there isn't an available time for that request. After about 5 minutes of this, I hung up; still without being able to reach customer service, but they did offer me a call-back for next week. Seriously? The mat itself is nice and we're still using it, but I want one that sticks all the way to prevent from water getting trapped and mold developing.2Works well, sufficient treads for safety Works well for what we needed. The surface is rigid enough to prevent slipping for people of all ages. It was very easy to install--no issues with getting it straight or with air bubbles, etc.I would suggest noting the length of the item vs. the length of your tub, particularly if you are interested in having the entire bottom of your tub covered. Even in our small tub, there is a considerable amount on each end that remains uncovered, which could be an issue for some elderly users or small children. If this is a concern for you, you may want to use a second one cut to size to cover the remaining surface. 5Perfect!Like another reviewer, I first saw something like this at a hotel. I fell in love with it then, but it wasn't until now that I found them, and found them at a good price. So good, I bought two!I have older enamel over steel tubs and, as you can imagine, they get slick. These mats are the same material those goofy stick-on treads are made from, but in a full adhesive sheet. Even with a scattering of flowers, butterflies, or racing stripes, when we had those appliques growing up, you could still hit bare tub and fall on your behind... or worse. I was afraid to have overnight guests worrying about liability if they should slip and fall. No worries now. Before I applied them, I rolled them out and set some things on the ends to help them flatten out. I think this makes a big difference. To apply, since I really wanted mine to stick, I went over the whole bottom of the tub with windex and a scrubby sponge. I dried it with paper towels, dried again with frsh paper towels, and then let it air dry for a few minutes. You only get one shot, so I laid the first one in the tub, made sure it was aligned exactly where I wanted it, and then stood on it before peeling and sticking down the first end so that it wouldn't move.Following the instructions, stick down the first few inches, smooth it out, peel then smooth, peel then smooth, from the center to the edges pressing with a small towel. (I started with my hands, but it gets rough pretty quick.) And then you're done! You can use it right away.Nothing beats common sense and bathtub safety, but every extra measure of protection is a good thing. My mats came from seller Dynamic Living. I noticed this changes so I don't know if the product changes. FYI.5Best Anti-slip mat for the tubI bought this after I had it going through numerous "mildew-resistant" tub mats. It was easy to install. I followed what other reviewers said and rolled it out on before I installed it - I left it out under a table the night before so it resisted curling up when I stuck it on the tub.The next day, I thoroughly cleaned my tub and dried it completely and then stuck it on. It when on quite easily and I think because I unraveled it the night before, I did not get any bubbles. It's been on now for several months now and I love this thing. 1. It's easy to clean - I use a little banking soda and scrub with a sponge for tough stains, I use peroxide. 2. It's a great non-slip option for those with kids who may peel out the those pretty one or just dislike the tough of mildew underneath those "mildew resistant" ones.So for it's ease of installation, performance and ease in keeping clean, I think this is a must have and a money saver as I would have been through about 2 mats already had I not had this. I'll be using this from now on!5
