Customer Reviews

Very well made and substantial I purchased this spatula to replace a 50 year old slotted metal spatula that had finally given up the ghost. The metal on this one is a bit thicker which causes my eggs to hesitate sliding up on the turning surface. I guess I am just going to have to get used to the difference!! This one is beautiful and will doubtless last equally as long!! I would have gotten your slotted version, but it appeared to have a scooped shape to the turning surface. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! 4Every kitchen should have one of these great turner / spatulas This is an excellent spatula / fish turner. I haven't actually used it for turning fish yet but for cooking everything else, including fried eggs it is a great spatula. I like this slotted turner just as much as my Cutco slotted turner but this Hell's Handle slotted turner cost about 1/3rd as much as the Cutco. The turner is thin and flexible enough to slide under burgers or eggs without breaking them up but still strong enough to support even heavier steaks and burgers without allowing them to flop over back onto the pan. The handle is wide enough for me to hold without it hurting - I have large hands and they are often sore with tendonitis - and the handle seems very durable. If I needed another turner / spatula or was gifting one to somebody this is the one that I would buy again. 5Buy it for life Exactly what I wanted. Dimensions as advertised. This is definitely a buy if for life item. Do yourself a favor and rub a razor blade along the parting lines of the handle. Once smoothed there isn't anything else I'd want out of the spatula/turner. Got it for flat cast iron cooking and it's perfect. Thin edge and flexibility made lifting eggs easy. Able to press and saw cut bacon without issue; have to be careful of the flexibility though. Cleaning is easy. I'm going to buy a second for working pancakes and other items that may need the backup of a second hand. Also makes a great twang sound due to how the handle is formed directly to the steel. 5A Professional Item I bought this for home use to replace a stainless steel spatula with a long handle. This was more than I needed, so I am returning it, but for what it is, it is an incredibly solid, beautiful piece of work. Just be aware the dimensions don't sound as big as it is in real life. A four inch wide blade is wider than most normal kitchen-ware, and an 8" blade before the bend is a lot of metal. So if you want an impressive piece of equipment, go for it. 5High Quality Kitchen Tools Purchased the 6"x 5" Heavy Duty Turner and the 8"x 4" Turner. Second dimension is blade width. Blades flex very little (mostly at the handle). Both sit on the counter/ grill with the handle up. NSF Certification markings etched on the blade. Handle is comfortable to hold. These are high quality tools. Says Taiwan on blade. I did not need to break the edge (sand down the hard/ burred edge) as with other cheaper turners I own. These will feel very large in your consumer kitchen pans. If you use a flattop griddle these size tools will work very well. The 8x4 turner lets me flip 2 4" pancakes at a time. I was flipping 2-10 strips of bacon at a time as well. The 4" width is a good size. The 5" turner works great for larger pancakes and makes an excellent scraper. I bought the 6x5 turner first but find the 8x4 my goto for griddle cooking.I highly recommend if you want good quality kitchen tools. 5Best spatula ever This is the best kitchen tool ever. Works great for cooking over-easy eggs without busting the yolk. Flips sausage patties, bacon, burgers, pork chops and everything else well.My employer has a department picnic every quarter and I help with the cooking. Since we were going to be cooking breakfast, I brought my Turner instead of using the cheap flimsy plastic spatulas the company furnished us. After trying mine, several co-workers went out and bought some for their homes. The guy who heads the cookout even bought some for work use. 5Great for fish, wish the handle was longer Works well, great for bigger less rigid foods like fish. Seems to be of good quality so far. Despite its light weight and seemingly thin blade it is able to be flexible and retain its form.Wish the handle was a little longer as it gets hot reaching items in the back of the grill. 5Feels good in the hand And to think I have cooked for years without this handy tool. Feels good in the hand. Slides under food releasing it from the pan very easy. I don't use no stick teflon cook wear for metal is fine. However I do have a plastic one like this shape that I have had for years and it is quite broken. I still use it though. Sometimes for some reason my poor worn out one still does what I need and would love another one to keep this new one company but never see it anywhere. This new metal on is very flexible which I was pleasantly surprised as I thought it may be stiffer. If you are in the market for a metal one this is a very nice functional one that will be around for years. Small investment for big payoff!! 5Extremely good with some modification We were gifted one of these years ago for my husband who loves to cook and grill. The one we were gifted had a flatter edge. I purchased this one for hubby thinking it would be the same, but wasn't. This one has a thicker edge. My husband took it to a belt sander and made the edge thinner, now it is perfect. It is extremely sturdy and the handle seems strong as well, despite being made from plastic. I don't know why the world suddenly has crappy metal spatulas, but it does. It has been increasingly difficult to find decent stainless steel utensils to use with our cast iron cookware. We find that the "good stuff" is 10 years plus old and super expensive- because no good cook wants to give it up.I recommend this product, but again, you are going to want to flatten your edge for better scraping to get under the food properly. 4Big and Bad Perfect for use with cast iron and open griddles. For the longest time, I couldn't pick up a large cut without it flopping over. Size matters and this is the ultimate tool for serious outdoor cooks. The quality and weight of the steel gives little to complain about, this is a tool that could last generations....BUT, with one caveat and the reason I removed 1 star. The handle feels absolutely cheap in comparison to the rest of the tool. Stamped brown plastic, it feels like a cheap souvenir cup. This is a piece that would've deserved a nice wood handle, and it would've been worth a few extra bucks for that touch. 4
