    From sensor dispenser to this I had the cleancut sensor dispenser and it broke after 3 years of use. I was so tempted to buy another clean cut machine but after much thought, I knew I wouldn't want to keep on buying the same machine for a pretty penny eveytime it breaks. I searched for weeks and finally decided on this one due to its great reviews and simple design. I am glad I bought this! One reviewer said that it would not fit the bounty brand and I disagree. I use the bounty select a size regular roll and have no problems with it. If you use the mega rolls, then you'll definitely have an issue for sure. Though I am back to basics with this dispenser, I still highly recommend it! 5Junk-Useless Not Good. Very cheaply made and quite flimsy. And doesn't fit jumbo rolls of paper towels. Useless to me. Easier to throw out than return. don't waste your money or time on this. 1Had to use shorter screws on install due to thinness of cabinet bottom but love the simple unobtrusive design of this paper towel holder Just installed this under a kitchen cabinet. While a large roll of towels fit snugly, they roll quite smoothly and I can tear off a sheet without roll being floppy. Really, really glad I chose this towel holder and recommend to others. 5hate it I thought I was getting a good towel holder because o f product material and price. Wrong!! Can't keep the towel roll on the thing after I have used a few towels from a big roll. . And then as the roll gets smaller, , sometimes when I try to pull towel off with a quick jerk, the roll unwinds abou t 8-1 on tube. 0 towels and I have to roli the towels back . I have wasted towels on occasion when the unwind went into dish water or the whole what's-left roll fall-s into sink-. I hate this thing. needs a lock to hold towel on Well enough already!! I am getting another towel holder. . 1Flawed Design Returned promptly because the larger roll does not work with this paper towel holder. It will fit but it will not spin so you will have to manually rotate the roll. 1It's a horrible design. Waste of money I use name brand paper towels, so that is not the issue. When I put a fresh roll in, its too tight and doesn't turn. Once you get down to a half-used roll, the whole roll pulls out of the holder when you pull on a sheet. The roll sits half out of the holder most of the time and I am constantly adjusting it. I've tried bending it to make it tighter (but refer to "too-tight" comment earlier in my review), but then the roll doesn't turn at all. It's a horrible design. Waste of money. The cheap plastic one I had before worked perfectly. This is terrible. 1Very nice looking in Brushed Stainless Steel My original review headline: "It looks nice, but it's too tight"My original review: "This paper towel holder looks stunning, but it holds the paper towel rolls too tight. I thought maybe it would only be a problem when the roll was new and very wide, but after using most of the paper towel roll it is still being held too tight and it is hard to turn. It's kind of annoying but I think I'll keep it anyway as this will hopefully encourage us to use fewer paper towels."Edit: I accidentally bent part of the paperboard tube in the middle of the paper towel roll, and I bent it inwards so it was pressing against the knob on one end of the paper towel holder. That was why it felt really tight when trying to turn the paper towel.Now that I've put a second paper towel on this paper towel holder, and I did it this time without bending the paperboard tube, the paper towel rolls turn nice and smoothly and easily, even with a brand new, fat paper towel roll. 5Looks good and works, but if I did it again... First off, be advised that packaging is frustration full, and at this point in my life that alone is something that would point me to a different product if I had known. What a waste of time struggling with that $&@expletive@#! all the while hoping you won't scratch the product with your box cutter.As far as the actual product, I installed this vertically and it works well. Easy to get paper towel rolls in and out. If I did it again I would probably get a different holder just because it's not as visually appealing to have the towel hanging out... for vertical installation I would probably get a holder that has the arm in the front to keep everything in place and help rip off towels. That said, it does hold the Costco roll and works. 4It works! Works good. Does what it is supposed to do. 5Unimpressive - Better ones available This paper towel holder is pleasing to the eye as other reviewers and photos testify. Unfortunately, outside appearance can be deceiving. Two problems with this version of a towel holder quickly came to light.(1) There s no way to lock the towel roll on so that the whole roll can t just drop off when you pull a towel off. Rolls slip into place and are held by tension on both ends supplied by the metal frame. That s the same basic design that was used 50 years ago. Should you install this behind your countertop and need to reach over / around an appliance to reach it there s a good chance you ll pull the whole paper roll off the wall. Grasping the roll firmly with one hand while tearing off a towel helps - but still isn t idiot proof . You d think that over the past 50 years they d have invented a better way to secure the towel roll to the holder.(2) There s no template for drilling mounting holes included. Determining where to drill holes in wall or cabinet is difficult because the top of the holder before mounting is bowed / bent rather than flat (likely to provide necessary tension against the towel roll). When you begin to tighten down the mounting screws, the top part of the holder starts to flatten out, thus causing the two screw holes to move farther apart laterally. Possibly having one person press the rack firmly into place while another drills the holes or marks the spot with pencil would help. I don t know. But working alone it took several tries to drill the holes in the right spots. Messed up a couple times and needed to repair the incorrectly drilled holes.I wish I d looked harder and longer and considered more options rather than buying the first highly rated stainless steel holder I stumbled on. For the price, and considering the high reviews, I expected to be pleasantly surprised by qualities like clever design, ease of mounting and ability to hold rolls firmly. None of these proved accurate. Of course, once you have drilled holes into your wall or cabinet to accommodate this particular holder. it s hard to change over to a different one. You re more or less stuck with your choice.- Added February 22, 2018:I ve now had it with this worthless dinosaur from the past. After 2 weeks of use it s become such a pain that I m taking it down and throwing it away. At least once daily the roll falls off despite my best efforts. Usually this happens at the worst possible times - either when I m busy cooking or have managed to get my hands messy (reason we have paper towels in the kitchen). I ve ordered another for a bit more money which looks nice and appears to possess the requisite qualities: (1) mounts securely to wall / under cabinet using screws, and (2) has a locking mechanism to prevent towel rolls from dropping off.
