Customer Reviews

Under door leak cured! I have a double french door out to the deck, and each time it rains, water would seep in under the one door. Changed the sill seal - no luck. This was the solution. It keeps water away from sill, thus water cannot drip down door, under it, and seep over the sill and into the house. Just ordered another for other door, which seeped just a bit I noticed in last storm. It is easy to instal. Measure, trim to right length, drill holes and screw it on. The holes have some adjustment to them-which helped me when I noticed it was installed a little too low and was scraping the top of my sill. A " JUST RIGHT" solution for this problem! 5cut crooked on both ends, under 36" lengthCut crooked on both ends, and size is under 36" listed length. Quality control fell asleep on this one.2Great protection for the bottom of our exterior doors.Great protection for the bottom of our exterior doors that get a lot of splash up from rain here in Florida. Easy to cut with a hack saw or jig saw with a fine metal cutting blade. Used a bit of caulking to seal the screw holes and prevent water from seeping between the shield and the door.5Easy to cut Easy to cut. Easy to install but didn't fit our door so I wouldn't be able to say if it keeps the rain out. 4Excellent product I had an issue with rain coming under the front door. Tried replacing the door bottom (couldn't replace the sill) with no luck. Obviously the sill was damaged but it extended under a side light and couldn't be replaced without removing the entire door and side light.Decided to try a drip cap and chose the MD Building Products 6247 Aluminum Drip Cap.Received in about 6 days with no damage. Cut to door size as instructed and installed with enclosed screws.Have now experienced several rain storms and am happy to report that leaking has been completely eliminated!Very satisfied customer! 5Simple product that does what it's supposed to.I used this to stop rain water from seeping under the crack below my door, since my weather stripping leaked when heavy winds blew a lot of rain against the door. A drip cap works the way an umbrella does, intercepting water and directing it away from where you don't want it. In this case, it directs the water about an inch away from the bottom edge of the door, which is enough that little or any dripping on the ground will reverse course and head inside. As others have said, some caulk between the door and the drip cap is a good idea. Aluminum, cuts with a hacksaw.5Huge improvement vs. no diverter at allSignificantly reduced the amount of water that finds its way in during a heavy rain storm. Eventually, the rain does puddle down the side of the door and a few drops can get in, but 90% of it is diverted first by this tool. I may eventually still need to install a storm door, but a big improvement for now.5Perfect for what I needed. This drip edge is exactly what I was looking for to stop the metal doors on my metal building from leaking at the bottom. I remember seeing something like this years ago and sort of filed it away in my memory. Years later I had a problem with leaking doors that were exposed to heavy rain and that's when I remembered seeing a drip edge at the bottom of a door many years ago. I set out looking for such a thing and found these. I had to cut mine down and you probably will too but it was easy even using just a hacksaw. When installing I sort of just held it at the bottom of my doors while opening them slowly to be sure it didn't rub against the sill. I then marked the center hole on my door, drilled the center hole just a tiny bit smaller than the recommended size and inserted the first screw. I used a small level to get the drip edge just right and then drilled each other hole and inserted the screw one at a time. Don't over tighten the screws or you'll need to get bigger ones. I'd also advise running a bead of caulk along the top edge and over each screw head for a long lasting solution.5A real solutionWe regularly had rain coming in our garage service door due to it being in a rather unprotected area facing the typical prevailing weather pattern. We were reluctant to order this as home improvement projects just aren t our thing but knew we had to do something. It was surprisingly easy to install and has completely resolved the issue. We painted it to match the door and don t imagine anyone would even realize that it s there.5Quality trim pieceQuality product that worked well for my application above a window. Came with screws. The total length measures 36.5 inches, so be able to trim to fit if you need 36" (as described) or a smaller length. Also, the cross-section diagram does not illustrate the piece that extends back from the curved portion, so observe the photo where this part is shown.4Extremely well made, high quality and works.Extremely well made, high quality and works. I did have to cut it for my 30" doors, but it was easy enough with my dremel tool. A regular hacksaw would work fine as well. I predrilled pilot holes with a cordless drill and used silicone caulk on the holes before putting the screws in and a bead across the top where the piece meets the door to ensure rain doesn't get behind it. I then tested by spraying my door with a hose for 10 minutes straight. No water got past it. I'm a happy camper!5ReplacementWe recently renovated our rental property and needed to replace and couldn't find this in our home good stores but found it on Amazon and our contractor put it on for us and he said it was simple to do.5Sturdy Aluminum RV door drip deflectorUsed this for an RV door that swings down. The water above from the awning would drip and coagulate on the inside of the door jam. When I'd open it, all that water would drop inside. This does the perfect job of deflecting the water.5
