Great Purchase. Just what I wanted. This is a very nice, very firm reading pillow. Soft fabric, nice soft grey in color, I fall asleep sitting up reading almost every night now, I love how comfortable it is and how well it holds me up. The arms seemed a little floppy at first, just work some of the filling from the back into the arm sleeves and it fills them out. I would buy again and I would recommend this purchase. 5Starts flat but poofs up fabulously. Comfy! Very comfortable! My apartment is tiny and a couch won't fit. I use this to lay on the floor and watch TV. Love it. I stick a yoga bolster under my knees and it's better than a recliner.Don't be alarmed that it's deflated-looking and flat as a pancake when you first unpack it. I followed the instructions and gave the pillow a massage. It poofed right up! And it was even more full the next day. 5Pillow for Breastfeeding in bed I bought this pillow for nursing my second child while laying/sitting in bed. I learned the first time around how strenuous it can be on your back. If you're looking for a pillow for that reason, stop looking and click "purchase", because oh my gosh, this is THE breastfeeding pillow. I'm literally feeding him right now while writing this, my back is well supported and I'm comfortable. I leaned back the other day to close my eyes while nursing and smooshed the filling around to get my head a little more comfortable, and it totally works with you. I was skeptical because it comes in a small box and when you unwrap it the foam is compressed and it looks like garbage. A+ product 5A very different, very good support pillow! I was looking for one of these because I sometimes have to sleep sitting up in lrder to relieve pain in my shoulders, arms and hands. I remember having one of these when I was younger. But thoae were so hard and couls not be "shaped" if necessary. This one came in a small box, and as I'd already seen the notes from previous uyere, I knew what to expect. I took it out and gave it some good shakes and separated the folling a bit, and it plumped up right away! I like that it ia soft and pliable, almost moldable, so I can use to help support my arm, or neck or whatever else is bothering me. If I need to sit up in the bed I can put it on top of my other pillows an have my back and neck supported. Overall, I do recommend this one. 5So Comfy!! For the last few years I'd been purchasing my reading pillows from Target. They always have them around back to school time. While I've liked them for the most part, over time they would lose their shape and I'd end up sewing them to bring the arms back in. This year I decided to try something new and settled on this one after looking at scores of them on Amazon. I made the decision based on the mid to low price and foam stuffing. I didn't want to invest much more than fourth bucks in a pillow I couldn't see or touch and some of them get up above the hundred dollar range.When the pillow arrived, I was a bit concerned that it was rolled up and almost completely flat. Fortunately I'd read some reviews that mentioned this and took the advice that I'd need to beat and kneed the pillow pretty vigorously in order to break up the foam clusters. After I finished the pillow had filled out nicely and continued to expand for the next couple days.Finally, and most importantly, thus pillow is super comfy. It provides plenty of support while remaining pliable, so whenever I need to adjust it conforms to my new position. It also returns to its original shape quickly. It's still early on but I'm really impressed with this pillow. I'll continue to update this review as time goes on if I notice any changes. 5but it came out of 15 minutes in the dryer super well! Served its purpose nicely, though! 5Just like it says it is...GREAT product. I received my back pillow a few hours ago. I undid the plastic and punched it a few times because I had read the reviews and knew exactly what to do. It puffed up a bit and sat upright, did not lay dead like I saw in some people's pictures. I think you really must punch it and shake it right away and then just let it sit. In a little while, I saw that it had filled out some and I went and punched it some more and broke up the hard clusters of foam. Easy, no big deal. I shook it upside down to move the fill around. Again, easy, even though it's heavy. About five hours later, it's sitting on my bed, looking huge (but I'm not using it yet because I want to let it fully expand - I follow directions!) I patted and shook it a bit more and it looks tremendous and filled out already. Can't wait to see if it gets even bigger. I did try it for a minute just to assess the size (bought the XL) and am thrilled with the height. Others are usually 18" tall, and one other out there is 21" tall...but this one, at 24" tall beats them all. I'm 5"5" and it's tall enough so I can lean my head back and be completely cradled by the pillow. The arms are long and thick and super supportive. I may try a little steam to smooth out the fabric wrinkles, but it's not a big deal and that may smoothe out when 24-48 have passed anyway. Love the navy color, even though nothing in my room is blue. Just a nice color that goes fine anywhere. Thought it might have had a pocket, but since it doesn't, I can find a pretty makeup case and attach it to the outside of an arm with adhesive-backed velcro. You could do that with one of those fabric covers for travel tissue packs too. Heck, I can think of lots of ways to jazz it up. Maybe I'll embroider my name on it. I have lots of time on my hands, now that i'm recovering from knee surgery and can't go much of anywhere! So, this review is just after having it for a very short while, but so far so good and I wanted to say so. Oh, the other thing is, mine has NO SMELL AT ALL. I know some have said it has a chemical smell, but mine has NONE. And I have a sensitive honker. I nearly choke to death just walking by the perfume counter at Nordstrom. So, this thing is just fine in that department. The price was right for something of this size and quality. I'm happy. I am very pleasantly surprised and pleased with this pillow. I like to work in bed using a laptop desk, but our bed has no headboard so there is nothing to lean back on. I've tried cheaper pillows of this type that you can get at the local super-mart and they've always been such a disappointment - cheaply made, seams that came apart, filling that had no support, and fabrics that slid around making the whole thing pointless.This pillow arrived rolled and compressed but as anyone who's ever ordered a memory foam mattress knows you just need to let it free and leave it alone for a bit. I removed the packaging and laid it out for a few minutes, then sort of roughed it up and mashed the foam inside of it to break up larger clumps and redistribute it, then left it alone so it could warm up (it was delivered on a cold day and had sat out on the porch). When I checked on it a couple of hours later it was good to go!I'm not sure what kind of foam shreds are inside, they're not quite as squishy as memory foam but they are dense so they're not poly-fill and they're not open-cell foam like you'd find in upholstery. They compress well without losing much stability and spring back easily. When I'm using it, my body heat affects the shape of the foam and it makes it conform to my body (which is what makes me think of memory foam) The arm construction is better than many pillows on the market as they're attached separately and feel tighter in toward the body instead of being wide and making the pillow a dumpling shape that rolls over. The velour fabric is nice, I like the color and the pile is soft and long enough that the pillow doesn't slide when I lean back against it (hooray!). The seams are all double-stitched which gives me hope that they'll last.But how does it work? Pretty darned good! I mean, it is a pillow so there's a certain amount of squish to it, but I am able to sit up enough to type and work comfortably (in fact I am doing that right now as I write this review). If I find myself lounging a bit too much it's easy to sit up and pull the pillow back toward me from the bottom and it finds its shape. I like the handle on top as I use it to shake out the pillow before every use - it's already dilapidated from the last time I used it so I give it a quick shake and smoosh any filling around if the arms are lacking or there isn't enough of a base. It's very easy to do. Personally I put a squishy bed pillow directly behind and slightly under the back of it to add a little more resistance but I was very surprised by just how supportive it is. Hands down the best one I've ever tried and I'm glad I spent a bit more to get the right thing. 5Great for extra comfort for reading in bed The number of uses to which memory foam seems almost limitless at times. Many of my shoes have memory foam inserts while my bed is a memory foam mattress. I have a shredded memory foam pillow (highly recommended - and much better than a non-shredded memory foam pillow) and a Laz-E-Boy recliner with memory foam padding. I used to have a memory foam topper for my old mattress. I even have a memory foam pad in my car to increase comfort while driving. And now I have a shredded memory foam reading pillow. This is, I have to say, the most surprising good use to which I've seen memory foam put to date. Frankly I didn't at first think it was going to be very good, after I took it from the packaging, but I forgot that memory foam takes a day or so to expand properly. Once it had (after about 36 hours), this became my all time favorite reading pillow. This now gives me the ultimate in comfort while I read sitting in my bed. 5
