    It's a great rolling pin BUT WHY WOULD YOU PUT A STICKER ... I'm going to give this 1 star so hopefully the manufacturer and/or distributor will take note. It's a great rolling pin BUT WHY WOULD YOU PUT A STICKER ON THE WOOD!!! It was sealed in plastic which was a perfect place to put a sticker but instead someone made the decision to put it on the wood where it has to be scraped off or soaked off both of which ruin the wood. Come on people, common sense please! 1Rough finish. Time to up your craftsmanship J.K. Disappointed in the finish, or lack there of. The pin is rough, and will need sanding and butcher block oil to have a nice smooth finish. Wasn't expecting to have to take these extra steps. 2Great product! Great quality product, seems like a very solid piece of wood to me. I've used it once for a pie crust and it was perfect. When I received it I washed it, let it dry, then rubbed it good in virgin coconut oil. every time it starts to look a little dry I think I'll keep doing that. I think it also helped keep the dough from sticking to the wood. It does arrive quite dry, so I would recommend it (also for anti-microbial purposes). I would buy this again and consider giving it as a gift! 5Happy with switch from traditional pin In my late 50's and had always used a heavy, marble rolling pin with handles and a rod through the middle. After several mishaps where the handles came off and the middle rod got bent, I decided to try the all wood French rolling pin. It does take a little bit of getting used to, but I am VERY happy that I switched. This pin was not super smooth when I got it, but I used fine steel wool on it and it smoothed out beautifully. I use this pin for rolling out cookies and pie crust and it really only took a couple of times using it to get the hang of not having handles. Very happy with this purchase! 5very disappointed! Shape and size are fine. But it arrived in unusable condition. The pin was so rough that any dough would not release from the numerous wood fibers still on the surface. Is quality control a thing of the past? 1Best general purpose rolling pin yet! This is the best overall rolling pin I've ever found! I've struggled for years with pie dough and between switching to using lard and this pin I can finally roll it out and get it in the pan easily. Before ordering, I searched reviews online to see what the pros recommend for a good general rolling pin and this style came up often, and small wonder!The taper allows me to control the direction and thickness of pie, cookie and biscuit doughs much better than a straight or handled pin. It is a bit light when doing a stiffer dough like gingerbread so some muscle is required, but the control and flexibility of this pin is worth it if you only want one or two in your kitchen. Also a great price and made in the USA! Loved it so much I ordered one for my sister who loves to bake and didn't have a tapered one yet. 5J.K.Adams? I don't think so. I already own an Adams maple rolling pin, and was purchasing this one as a gift. There is no label, no logo on the end like mine, and the quality is significantly worse. The weight and finish compared to my own J.K. Adams pin that I have had for years is sadly lacking. I definitely believe there is a bait and switch going on here. Beware. 1Great rolling pin. Easy to use and much better than the ones with handles. I had a smaller wooden rolling pin with the handles for years. I've been making pies lately and it wasn't really wide enough to roll the dough out very well, so I decided to upgrade to a nicer one. This has not disappointed! I thought it'd be weird to use because it's tapered, but it's really easy. You can get really good leverage for rolling things out, and it's really long. Great piece of kitchenware to add to my arsenal :) 5Good all around rolling pin I have been wanting a French rolling pin for a while now. I love to bake bread and one of my favorite recipes is a classic white loaf that is rolled out and then rolled up to form a loaf. This pin does a great job with my bread dough. It's very easy to control, and comfortable. The ends of the pin has the tool marks where it was attached to a wood lathe. They are noticeable so if that bothers you you might want to spend more on a more refined model. It doesn't bother me, in fact I like it because it looks like it's well made. Good rolling pin overall, hope to get many years use out of it 4it's terrible. this rolling pin is so tapered, it makes it difficult to be effective rolling things out. a french pin should be tapered out at the ends, not immediately out of the middle. this has no center to the pin. it's terrible. 1
