Prefect size I needed a small coffee table/ottoman in front of my couch. My fabric one had been torn to shreds by my cat. This measured the same as my current coffee table/ottoman, but bigger by 2" . I absolutely love it. No cat scratching and it looks lovely in my country cottage. It's great quality and very light to move when needed. I'm going to line it with scented paper and store my winter throws in it for a cozy winter. I recommend it. 5Love it Love this I used it as a coffee table I needed something smaller to fit the area I added legs for a little more height . 5Looks and smells awesome! This is a wonderful chest, and it smells divine! So glad I got it. I wouldn't advise letting anyone sit on it, but that's not what it's meant for anyway. Great accent piece for a room, with decent storage space! 5Disappointed but making it work I love the style of the trunk with metal embossed decor. It is also light weight and easy for me to lift. However, I have two issues with the trunk. 1) The odor when I unboxed it was horrendous. I let it air out outside, no help. I put baking soda inside, no help. I used the ozone generator from my refrigerator, no help. I had it out in the sun all day today and it was a little better. 2) The trunk was assembled with small tack screws, they were short, some were bent when nailed in, and they did not have the grooves on the stem that help them 'catch' so it was coming apart at the corners.To make it work, I disassembled the trunk (which was easy to do because the nails were inappropriate), sanded all the wood, and reassembled. Now the odor is almost gone and I am hoping some more sun will do the trick. Why didn't I send it back? Because I really love the embossed metal, size, and weight. 2Disappointing Well, the box looks beautiful, which is what I needed it for. But...Let's start with the inside. There is just the exposed metal on the inside, which was fairly disappointing. The bottom is like...plywood or something? And it did have a smell on the inside. Not a bad smell, but definitely a chemical one.The wooden top...well, there is a weird gouge in it as if something had been stapled or pushed down on it. It has also given me splinters literally every time I have opened it. every...single...time...It's pretty enough that I intend to keep it, buuuut, I was a bit nervous about purchasing something like this online, and this has certainly made sure I will not do so again. Would be worth it if cheaper, but not worth it at a hundred bucks... 2Nice Nice and lightDid not have an odorPackaging was greatSize is great 5Beautiful I don't think you could get a better trunk for the money. It does not look cheaply made, it's all wood and sturdy. The carvings on the trunk are beautiful. I am super happy with this piece. 5A beautiful wooden box, NOT a trunk This is a really nice looking decorative wooden box. We have the TV above the fireplace, and had to run the cable and power from the side of the fireplace up. We have a basket sitting on top of this box to hide the cables and power cords and such. It really looks nice and have even had a couple of people ask what we keep in the treasure box (remotes, cables, and a blanket or two for when we want to curl up on the couch to watch a movie). Gave it 4 stars because it was not nearly as heavy/solid as I was thinking it would be (being named a "trunk" an all). You get the feeling from the picture and name of the product that it's a fairly heavy trunk. Although it is solid construction, not cheap at all, my wife can lift it up and move it around with one hand, and I definitely would NOT sit on it, so it's more of a wooden box than trunk. Also, the clasp "lock" is really only decorative. It's kept closed magnetically, there's not a way (as delivered) to attach a lock to it. When I think of a trunk, I think of a foot locker type product that can be locked, and thrown in the back of a vehicle or some such. I would NOT do that with this wooden box. 4Attractive and functional I was prepared to be disappointed when I carried the package inside-- it is lighter in weight than I expected. However, some of that lightness turned out to be because of the metal--it's either tin or aluminum, I'd say. The box is not made of that cheap balsa type wood. It is a soft wood, which is naturally lighter by nature.I like the box a lot, and would love to give it five stars, but for a couple minor issues. Because it's softwood, it does ding easily. The cat scratched the wood with his hind claw as he jumped off it. He jumped off with a lot of force because he was playing, so it's only been that once so far. The other issue is also that the wood has a rough texture, rather than being sanded smooth. It's done that way to give it a rustic look, which is nice. Actually it works in my favor, because I have a knitted pad on top for the cat and the texture of the wood actually holds it in place pretty well.It's already gotten several compliments. The patina on the metal is lovely, just as shown in the pic. I am using it for my files--one of those plastic racks that hold hanging files fits perfectly, while a basket for pending files fits neatly beside it. It would work for a throw or two, but is probably too small if you need to stash a bunch of throw pillows. 43.5/5 Pretty good I would actually give this a 3.5 if I could. I got the nordic design. The designed side parts are tin tiles and the rest is structured from wood. It s easy to carry, not too heavy, and seems like a great storage/table option. I m going to use it for SCA and camping during LARPS. My only complaints are the price and the craftsmanship - $109 is a bit much for a box that I m going to have to reinforce with wood glue, as some side nails are sticking out. It s not broken or unfixable, but I do wish it were overall sturdier. 3
