    Why can't these bag guys get their act together?We had always used Glad bags from Amazon in like a 90 count for years. About two years ago Glad changed their product and it was clearly not the same bag as the past. So we tried a 120 count Hefty bag and we loved them Great sturdy construction, never ripped, really nice product. Time to reorder and Amazon/Hefty doesn't seem to offer the same bag. Oh well, I try the Ultra Strong scented bags. Ugh. Now I have nice smelling middle of the road quality garbage bags. I have used about 10 so far and 3 or 4 have ripped. Frustrating. 3Garbage pun intendedThese bags are terrible. We have had the same garbage can for 8 years. I have used these bags for a long time. Now all of a sudden that don't fit. They are shrinking like numerous other products. But these bags really changed. The quality has deteriorated to the point that I will never order them again. The sides RIP with little pressure, they are absolutely shorter, and the odor protector is disgusting, now. I am furious that I am stuck with an entire box of "garbage" pun intended! The only thing they are good for now is scooping dog poop. 1Seriously Hefty? A bag must be sealed for it to be functional!Recently added these to my Subscribe & Save, first time I needed to replace bags used these and found that the bags were unsealed along the side and not useable. Tried several bags and found similar issues being unsealed and opened along the sides. Not happy. Contacting Hefty directly. 1Ultra Strong = pre-weakened!Yep, trash bags are degrading in quality folks, you are not imagining it! Many large brands are going to lower plastic alternatives labeled as "tear resistant". That term seems to translate to thinner bags that have been pre-weakened and at times even have very small holes already present due to the stretching/abbration process they use on the plastic during production. I care about the environment, however I doubt the reduction in plastic actually helps much (if you have to double bag = defeats the purpose). I suspect the switch is motivated by the bottom line however. I am dealing with dirty diapers, food messes and other atrocities. I need bags that do not tear!What is also frustrating is that I had an Amazon 'Subscribe and Save' set up for the previous version of this product (Hefty Odor Block Trash Bags, Lavender scent, 90 count, here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00CMKCKO0/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&th=1). Unfortunately, Amazon automatically switched my order over to this 80 count tear resistant version, ARG! These two products are NOT THE SAME! Needless to say, I have canceled my subscription, and switched to an off brand that makes plastic bags the old-fashioned way. 2The scent can become a bit muchWas super excited (mid 30s kinda excitement over scented garbage bags) to get these. I liked that they are scented because wow what a cool idea. We've used these for around a year now and will continue to use them but occasionally the smell can be a bit much. Like for example, if you had a bit of a bender and wake up the next morning to digiorno and beer garbage and that smell mingles with the lavender- not that great. But they're of course durable and typically the scent is pleasant.:) 4Maggots inside!!!!! So disgusted and creeped out!!!I m beyond disgusted right now let me start by saying usually I have no problem with this product I ve bought it multiple times.... this time I went to open my brand new sealed box and there were maggots inside!!! I opened the second roll and again maggots!!! Idk where this one came from or where they kept them but I couldn t use them at all!!! It s like they were wrapped and rolled like maggot sushi... My skin is still crawling! I m beyond upset especially since I had to throw them out because I didn t check the box as soon as I got it I feel amazon or Hefty should do something about it still! I ve been a great customer for years!!! 1Bags will not stay attached to containersEdge does NOT hold on to container, constantly falling in. Bought these on an Amazon sale and thought the scent sounded nice, but not worth the pain of constantly reattaching bag. You ever have a pair of socks that wouldn't stay up? This is the equivalent in garbage bags. Wouldn't buy this brand again 2HORRIBLE trash bags!I've used Hefty trash bags before and never had a problem but these were the worst trash bags I've ever used.1 - They were too small to fit a standard kitchen trash can. First time we've ever had that problem with ANY trash bag let alone Hefty.2 - VERY weak ties that break easy. We were not using these for anything heavy, just normal kitchen trash yet every time we went to take the trash out, the ties broke.3 - VERY thin non snag proof material. We ended up with snags or leaks in at least half the bags we've used (20+), something we don't usually have a problem with, even when we use the dollar store trash bags.Overall, I would not recommend or re-purchase these bags and will go back to using Glad once we finish this box. 1I DO NOT RECOMMEND!I have bought this exact brand from Walmart several times and I have never had any issues with them tearing until now... every single one of these bags that I've used, has either ripped opened towards the middle or bottom, in addition to the bag tearing where the drawstring is located 1We Buy For The Scent Not The StrengthWe used to get this scent in regular tall kitchen bags but in the last year or two those have become harder to find in comparison to the Ultra Strong variety. The Ultra bags seem to be a little narrower at the top and thus harder to get onto our kitchen can and living room box. When I first bought the Ultra Strong bags I did limited tests to compare the two and to me there wasn't much of a difference. I've had a garbage bag leak maybe three times in the last couple decades. We don't over stuff the bags, we're both disabled so we keep things as light as possible. We've stuck with the Ultra bags simply because the scent is very pleasant. 4
