Customer Reviews

dissappointment!!!I should have never bought this sight unseen. As soon as I felt this faucet it was of very cheap quality. I had waited for my plumber to come and install and had not opened the box. I came home after work with it installed otherwise I would have sent it back! The spray nozzle is so light and barely has pressure when on spray and you can't go back to stream with the push of the button. You have to shut the water off. The chrome on it mostly takes on a black look to it indicating to me, the over all cheap quality! Grohe should be ashamed of this one. Such a pricey faucet and so not worth it!2I installed one in my home 3 years ago and it still looks and works like new. I bought this one for my daughter's ...Gorgeous high quality faucet. I installed one in my home 3 years ago and it still looks and works like new. I bought this one for my daughter's kitchen remodel and she loves it. The polished nickel is beautiful and the height is perfect for our use in a kitchen sink with an opening to the living room right aver it. The last thing I want to look at from my living room is a big, tall industrial looking faucet. This is a medium height, contemporary style.5Nice Faucet But With Cheap Pull-Down HoseI bought this faucet to replace a Grohe Ladylux Cafe that failed only after 9 years. While I loved, loved the looks of the Ladylux Cafe, it had some major problems. First, the handle started making a cracking noise when I turned it to change temperature and it would pop out frequently revealing the white plastic joint/turning mechanism (that was making the cracking noise) -- highly unsightly -- and you couldn't pop it back in and have it stay. So, the white plastic joint was showing most of the time -- major eyesore. Then the (non-replaceable) membrane over the button to change between regular stream and spray disintegrated into bits only after a year or so, exposing all the little plastic parts underneath. Every time I turned on the sprayer it bothered me a lot to be able to feel the eaten-away rubber membrane and plastic parts. So, after springing a major leak after 9 years, as pretty as it looked when all was going fine, the Ladylux Cafe faucet had to go and was not going to be replaced with another. So, I bought this Hansgrohe Talis C Prep faucet it its place. It's as pretty as the Ladyluxe Cafe I'd say, and looks very similar. The finish is like a brushed steel and goes with all of my brushed nickel hardware just fine. The handle is more modern looking, but that's okay with me. The size and proportions are pretty much the same. Thankfully, the turning mechanism looks like it's made out of metal, and it turns solidly and quietly - yay! The button to turn on the sprayer is made out of metal (or maybe hard plastic that looks like metal -- I can't tell 100%) which will never develop the problems of the membrane on the Ladylux. Here's the bad, and why I knocked off 1 star. The hose connected to the pull-down faucet head is made out of the cheap-looking stuff that is normally found underneath the sink and out of sight. Except here, when someone doesn't put the faucet head all the way back, you can see it in plain sight in the middle of your sink on what is supposed to be a focal point of your kitchen -- it really bothers me. On the Ladylux, that hose was covered in solid metal, and looked high quality. Of course, I make sure the head always goes back all the way up, so I don't have to see it, but I can't say the same for my husband and kids. Hansgrohe, why did you skimp on this one spot? (Well, I know it's to save money, but when we're paying this much for a faucet, you shouldn't cut corners on something like this.) It really takes away from this product's looks Also, as some have mentioned, once you press the button to spray, it's on spray until you turn it off. The good thing is that you don't have to keep the button pressed the entire time you are spraying, which I'm pretty sure we had to do with the Ladylux, but you can't toggle back and forth. It's not a big deal because I have it on spray 99% of the time, but still. My mom's $100 pull down faucet can toggle -- why not this one?4Beautiful FaucetI purchased this faucet in polished nickel for my kitchen remodel. I have been using it for five months and am very happy so far. The pull down feature works smoothly and the arm/handle does not have to push back far to adjust water temperature. This feature was very important to me, because I don't have a lot of room behind the faucet. It does not spot badly and I clean it with a damp cloth. I did have a piece that is inside the spray nozzle removed upon installation in order to increase water pressure. There is information online as to how to do this.5Disrespectful customer service from HansGrohe when contacted about performance issue We purchased 2 of these faucets and like the finish quality. However, the aerator on both units creates a significant splash zone rather than diffuse the water when it contacts surfaces during use. This leaves a lot of water on the surrounding counter and customer service at HansGrohe refuses to respond to my emails over the performance of these faucets. My cheap laundry sink performs better than this and the issue persists on both the prep and kitchen faucet which suggests a problem with the product/design and not a random defect. Save your money and buy from another manufacturer which respects their customers. 3nice looking, could be better for the $$$decent faucet, very nice aesthetics. I do not like the fact that for a $370 faucet you can't just turn the spray feature on and off with the button. once the sprayer is engaged you need to turn the faucet off to go back to a regular water stream, annoying. also I'm going to add photos here to a problem that a lot of people seem to have and hopefully help clear it up. there is a threaded fastener attached to the nozzle that becomes loose every once in a while and leaves a gap, you should be able to easily hand tighten it and fix the gap. if that's not the problem that people are describing, then you need to adjust the counterweight under the sink so that the weight pulls your nozzle back into a locked position. I hope these pictures help solve the problems that people are having. good luck all.4Love that the handle returns to the base and stays ...Love that the handle returns to the base and stays put. It doesn't hang down a small distance like the previous faucet it replaced. (Be forewarned however, mine went into a granite countertop and after removing the old faucet and handle that were in separate holes in the granite, I had to locate someone through a granite company to come and redrill the hole a bit bigger to accommodate this faucet's insertion! Seems years ago, the granite countertop holes weren't all of the same diameter! It was about a $150 fix to accommodate that.) In terms of the faucet itself, I'm loving it and am not bothered by the fact that you have to shut it off if you wish to switch from regular dispensing of water to a spray and want to switch back again.5I just love this faucetI just love this faucet. Its the best one I've ever had. Has modular parts so if you have to replace something its easy. Tech support is great. They worked on the road in front of the house so we got small black dirt pellets in the faucet. Company walked me through taking the sprayer apart and cleaning it. A snap. I'm going to get a smaller one for our prep sink. Sprayer works great.5The spray head is made of plasticI purchased this unit 5 years ago. I do not expect a product as expensive as this to have the chrome peel off in such a relatively short time. The spray head is made of plastic and the chrome coating began peeling off a few months ago. The product information clearly says "solid brass construction"; there is no mention of plastic. You can clearly see from the photos that the spray head is not brass.1Disrespectful customer service from HansGroheWe purchased 2 of these faucets for our kitchen renovation based on a long history of quality from HansGrohe. The finish is good and installation is standard but the water aerator is poor and the primary reason I cannot recommend this product. Water will splash rather than diffuse when it hits a surface (plate, utensil, etc) leaving constant water on the counter around the sink. Note this problem exists on both the kitchen and bar sink we purchased which suggests there's a problem with the product/design and not a random issue. My cheap laundry sink performs better than this product and HansGrohe customer service stopped returning my email when I shared my dissatisfaction. Do yourself a favor and make a smart purchasing decision by choosing another manufacturer which respects their customers3This is a beautiful looking kitchen faucetThis is a beautiful looking kitchen faucet. I was concerned about splash due to the height of the faucet, but I can report it's minimal. On full blast it will splash onto the sides of your sink up to about 2" and that's it. At a more modest flow, no splash. The action is very smooth. My only caveat is that w the sprayer extended and the button pushed for a spray from multiple nozzles, pressing the button again does not return the spray to full normal flow. For that you have to turn the water off and then back on again. At this price point, I'm surprised at the awkward work-around, but it wasn't a deal-breaker for me.5
