Saves furnitureI bought these waterproof sheets for unusual potty training. One of my dogs is an excite, spiteful or just being a jerk pee er. I bought two twin size sheets for my sectional. Needless to say he tested out the quality within 48hrs. They work...absolutely no urine on the fabric, my couch would ve been ruined if i didn t have the sheets on it. (Puppy goes in the crate when we re not home now. neither one of the dogs in the pic supplied that urine..the one not pictured is the culprit) 5NOT WATERPROOFI purchased this mattress pad along with a new mattress from Amazon. This pad is not waterproof as advertised!!! Do not buy it! My sons new mattress is ruin after a little accident that this is suppose to protect from. I tested the mattress protector with a little bit of water and my hand had visible water drops from water seeping through.I'd like the manufacture of this pad to reimburse me for the cost of my sons mattress. 1Bed wetting leaks right through!We purchased two of these for my potty training toddler's bed, knowing that there will be accidents. We followed a friends advice for easier night time changes by layering a mattress cover, fitted sheet, mattress cover, fitted sheet. That way in the middle of the night you just strip off one layer of sheets without having to remake the bed...Well, good thing we did that because every time my son has had an accident it leaks though the top sheet and mattress cover onto the second sheet and mattress cover. It would have leaked right into the mattress if we hadn't doubled up. It shouldn't take two layers of this mattress cover to protect out mattress. We will be purchasing a different set of covers right now. 1It Can LeakThis mattress protector was waterproof when it was brand new and I tested it. Later I moved it to protect a sofa from cats, and to my shock I found it was not entirely cat-pee proof. Twice I found partial leaks, but any amount of cat pee is too much. In the washing machine I use only warm water and no bleach, but possibly the dryer didn't help. Now I use puppy training pads under the mattress cover, and use another brand of protector on top of my bed to foil the cats. So to get good waterproofing I guess you have to pay more and maybe air dry the material. 1Not water proof.Not waterproof (aka pee proof). I used it on our toddlers bed, he had an accident, and it leaked right though. Very annoyed I even wasted my money on two of these.The only thing this is good for, is its like a second top sheet. Don't buy it if you're looking to protect your mattress from liquid accidents. 1Good enough, but I don't think it's waterproof.I've got the FULL size for an 8" memory foam mattress and it fits very nicely, however I'm not so convinced that it is waterproof at all! Nonetheless, now that I've got it, I will keep it on as the base layer protector for the mattress. If someone absolutely MUST have the waterproof feature, I would recommend to look elsewhere and spend a couple of extra bucks, just to be on the safe side. But other than that, it is an OK protector that should fit mattresses up to about 12" thick, so I give it a fair 3-Star ratings. 3Excellent purchase, wish I would have bought it much sooner!I have used pads like this in the past with my older children and was expecting this mattress protector to be a tad uncomfortable and/or make a plastic sound when moving around. But neither are true!The mattress protector is thin, comfortable, and makes virtually no sound when my little one squirms around in bed. He has had several accidents so far and the mattress protector has done a perfect job of saving his mattress.The mattress protector goes on just like a fitted sheet and I've never had any problems putting it on.When he has an accident, I just pull off the sheet and mattress pad and toss them both in the washer. I do dry the pad on low heat though. I'm not sure if this is absolutely necessary or not, but that's what I do and it dries just fine. I haven't noticed any lingering smells. There has been no damage to his mattress. And considering how many accidents he has had since buying this, I am very impressed that it still looks to be in brand new condition.I really wish I had thought to buy one of these when I was breastfeeding and highly recommend it to any breastfeeding mommas out there. My mattress suffered so much from milk leakage in the middle of the night. This mattress protector would have been wonderful. Oh well. Live and learn. 5Absolutely NOT waterproof. This cover did nothing. 1DisappointedIs expected these covers to work like other brands I have purchased. This was not the case. The cover is not damaged in any way, but I still ended up having to treat the mattress after my child had an accident. I will now be putting a disposable mattress pad on the cover underneath the fitted sheet. 3Not waterproof, barely water resistantNOT WATERPROOFSomewhat water resistant, maybe... but if you're hoping to protect a mattress from a child's accidents, look elsewhere. We just bought this and I'm changing out bedding from a mishap... the mattress underneath is not at all dry. Everywhere under the 'spot' on the sheet is damp under the pad. This product is hardly useful. 1
