    Pretty garbage.It's a nice looking device, but that is where anything good about this product ends. It does NOT flicker like a candle, even partially, its more like 'brightish, dim, brightish, dim' over and over, and it buzzes while doing so. There are a few more reviews stating the same, figured 'maybe its just a bad unit', nope - got my hands on 5 different ones from different sources, none of them 'flicker' and all of them buzz. Beyond that its just a poorly designed device; no switch to turn it off, so if you're leaving the house for the day, or a vacation, they'll all just stay 'on' despite having enough light to see around your house during the day, if the light is at all indirect or dim, they won't turn off. The people giving these anything beyond a 2 star rating are morons. I'd say 'go ahead and waste your money', but that just emboldens the company to make more crappy products. It's unfathomable why someone would rate this product positively. If they want to sell the current product fairly, as opposed to actually making it what it is advertised to be, they shouldn't charge more than $4 for it.1Perfect brightness level, cute, good flicker What a great nightlight!! It comes on as it should in dark conditions and provides a warm, just-bright-enough glow that's perfect for late night bathroom trips when you really don't want anything bright to shake you out of half-sleep but also you want to see where you're going.It does looks very plastic-y, which I thought would bother me, but now that it's in place I don't notice it at all. It looks cute, in fact. And the flicker effect is funny- I don't see it if I look right at the light, but looking out at the room the effect is quite noticeable. Sometimes I like it, sometimes not, but it's well done anyhow.I might get more for other rooms! I ordered another of this GE series for a different room and it isn't half as effective. 5Nice, dim, ambient light. Purchased for our guest room as visitors had mentioned it was dark (only light switch is across the room). The first one we bought was way too bright, this one is nice and dim allowing for sleep. The flickering is a nice touch too. We bought three for around our house and there is a noticeable faint buzz with one, but it doesn t seem to affect its function. It does cover the other outlet when in use, but for me it s not an issue since I have an infant/toddler and have to block off the open outlets anyhow. 4Perfect for our homeWe live in an old farmhouse that has strange outlet placement. Often I have to enter a dark room and fumble around looking for the pull string to an over head light or to switch on a lamp. These lights are PERFECT. They don't block the whole outlet, they come on when it gets dark and off when it is light... no muss, no fuss!It fills the room with, what I would describe as, moonlight. Its like a full moon shining into the room. Great for dark hallways, or bathrooms. Some people might find it too bright for bedrooms though.42 complaints - super dim and covers 2 plugs.It's super fim.. wouldn't use this as a nightlight.. it's more of a faint decorative flicker. It does flicker like a real candle and looks really cool, but not practical for lighting a path. You can't plug it in without covering 2 outlets. The whole thing is the size of a normal outlet cover and the plug on the back is towards the middle of the piece so it can't be plugged in on the top outlet to expose the bottom for other purposes.. it pretty much uses the whole outlet for a dim flicker. I use for decoration on an outlet I don't use for anything else.3Great light, but two things I hadn't realized until I got it.... This is a lovely nightlight. Pretty cover, affordable, functional light sensor, and nice light color.There are two things I missed in its description before I ordered that I want to point out to others.1. This is light-sensing but NOT motion-sensing. That is: it stays on in the dark, not just when someone walks near it (like my other GE light of similar price). Not a big deal2. The light covers two outlet plugs. Yes, it says so in the description, but I'd missed that. I was not able to use it where I'd hoped to as the other plug is in use. Let this be my biggest problem.These oversights are both MY fault... not blaming the light. Just sharing with others. 5Flickering candle effect, dim light, but good under the right circumstance This night light is quite dim, but in the right location under the right circumstances that is just fine. It probably shouldn't be considered if you plan to light up a small to mid size guest bathroom. Say enough light so you can wash your hands and use the toilet. It would work if you have an outlet right next to the toilet for example. We do have such a location and this worked well for us in our upstairs bathroom that my daughter uses. It produces just enough light to be helpful and a color that is not jarring. The other great things are the finish looks very nice and is probably the only night light to have a flickering candle effect.I've attached a video and some pictures to help make your choice. Yes it is true it does cover both top and bottom outlets- but that is one of the reasons I bought this item. I do not want to use those outlets and I certainly do not want to see them. This night light covers the ugly outlet with a lovely bronze night light. The candle is realistic looking in night or day. I agree not a lot of light for a night light however does give off enough lights for a safe passage In the night. The cast of the light on the wall also is very pretty at night. The flickering effect is a nice touch. I do not think it is too orange as others have mentioned. I liked this so much I have ordered more to finish the illumination of my hallway . It is expensive for just a night light but I was buying to also set a mood . A great buy and a quality product- worth the price. Hard to find nice looking adult night lights that enhance the look of your home and this is a true find!5Lots of good but mostly bad***updated 2/19/19: The replacement I ordered not only had the same issue, but stopped working entirely in less than a week***Pros: These look great, and the concept is great. They add some class and we wish we could rate them higher.Cons: However, when the artificial candle effect "flickers" it makes a very quiet (but still audible) electric noise that almost makes you think something is short circuiting. We exchanged the first one and still had problems with the second. They are UL listed, but the noise makes them hard to trust, so we would not use this unattended which defeasts the purpose of a night light. Looks great, but it will probably become an outside only Halloween light.Other reviewers said the light was too dim, but that was not the case. If anything the artificial "flame flicker" is sometimes bright and also kind of spastic, and is not relaxing.The look and concept is great, but we can not recommend.1Great nightlight that provides soft lightingThe light provides a warm glow that is not bright enough for you to see fine details, but it is just bright enough to let you see where you are going. The auto-dimming feature works really well. The unit does cover most of the outlet plate as described, and if you plug it in a different way, it provides enough space for a standard sized plug to fit in the other outlet slot (see photos). I put these in bathrooms, hallways, bedrooms...anywhere that a little soft lighting will help.5Beautiful nightlights, nice ambiance!I LOVE these night-lights!! I have 2 in my built-in china cabinet outlets & one near the doorway... The ambiance at night is beautiful & so relaxing! I personally don't think they are too orange, as some have said, they look more golden & slightly orange to me. I had wanted the first one Ihad bought for my bedroom, but my husband didn't like the flickering, so I put it in the dining room and loved it, so ordered two more! They are very attractive & 'look like' metal.*FYI: Some reviewers said it doesn't cover both plug openings on the outlet cover, but mine do, and I have standard outlets. The night-light covers the top 3/4's of the outlet plate & rises 1 1/2" above the top of the plate & there is 1 inch of the plate showing below the nightlight. *See my photos.5Pros and cons.I had ordered a bunch of these from Walmart and they r gorgeous. Gives a flicker like a candle and nice glow. However, two issues. The two I ordered from amazon (identical as ones from Walmart) do not flicker. It s just a solid light. Second complaint is that it says u can adjust it so u can use the empty outlet but u can t. When Either top or bottom outlet is used, u cannot use the other one because the size of the light covers the other plug. For the price of these it should be described better. But they r beautiful when they work properly. Just wish it didn t block both plugs. And wish the two from amazon flickered like the other ones from Walmart do.1AWESOME NIGHT LIGHT - the bronze color looks great, the LEDs are efficient & safe, the design is solid, & output + color perfectThis is a REALLY NICE night light and it is worth the price premium over a basic model. This is my second GE LED CoverLite. I purchased one earlier in a different design and I was very happy with the look, the build quality, the amount of light it put out, and the extremely energy-efficient design. This model I like even more.Measuring about 4.5 inches tall, 3 inches wide, and .85 inches deep, this mid-sized LED night light has a semi-polished "oil-rubbed" bronze-color finish with brush lines, which gives it the look of a hand-polished finish. It also does a fantastic job of hiding dust and fingerprints! You can mount it so that it only covers one electrical outlet and does not obstruct the other, or it can cover both outlets, which gives you usage flexibility. It uses a low-output LED and the amount of energy it uses compared to a traditional incandescent night light is substantially less...an when I say substantially, I mean that the amount of energy this thing uses is almost negligible! Using an automatic light sensor, this comes on when it's dark and turns off when it is bright. Also, by being an LED, you will not have to spend money on replacement bulbs every 1,000 hours or so...the service life of this LED could easily be 100,000 hours + given LEDs have gotten super reliable, and the build-quality of this entire unit is made to last. This maximum energy efficiency and no need to replace the bulb or unit means the 10 bucks on this light will likely save you money in the long run. Unlike the compact fluorescents, this LED emits a SOFT-yet-WARM light...it does not have an office building fluorescent bulb vibe to it, but rather a very warm, friendly color that matches a home setting, and this color temp is literally spot-on for something that will run dimly at night. You could almost call it a mood light.In terms of brightness, the light output is literally PERFECT. It is enough so that you can see your way around in a dark room without needing to turn on a bright light, but dim enough that it is not distracting from sleeping. This nightlight, like other GE CoverLites, is UL certified...so you do not have to worry about them burning down your house while you are away on vacation (a friend of mine who is a firefighter has told me that it isn't completely unheard of for very poorly made generic devices like those 30 cent night lights to cause some major issues.) Additionally, this light does NOT get hot enough to burn children or pets...which my rabbit, Lilly, greatly appreciates.Surprisingly, I get asked about my GE CoverLites all of the time. People notice them almost immediately and they absolutely love them. A lot of people have seen them and then purchased them for themselves. And I must admit they really are handsome night lights. They really favor the warmth of a home-setting rather than a harsher light, and it looks so much better than a plain night light. The bronze color is just plain cool looking and it matches most room decors quite well.So between the efficiency & longevity of a LED, the mechanical soundness & safety of the design, and the fact that these just look plain cool, I highly recommend this and other GE CoverLites. Indeed they are on the more expensive side of night lights, but they're absolutely worth it.5
