    One word-AWESOME!!!!Estwing has surpassed my wildest expectations. I first saw this hammer in blue at Home Depot but didn't like the color. I liked the sturdy feel of the handle and beefiness of the shaft/head, so when I saw it in black I didn't hesitate to buy it immediately. I use this hammer for everthing and anything! I have built a garage and hung pictures with it, without any problems. I would compare this hammer to a tank because it feels unbreakable in your hand! Lastly, the fit and finish is clean and tight. This is in the new style of full-size, lighter weight hammers that are all the rage now. After using a classic (blue) all steel Estwing for years, this style takes a bit of getting used to. For framing and banging studs together its great. Grip is what I'd expect for an Estwing and it is my preferred hammer grip. The side puller and nail set are surprisingly effective and useful. The only downside is the shorter distance from shank to face. This comes into play on sheets or siding where my knuckles are nearly touching the work at impact. I don't think there is risk of injury, it just feels a little weird swinging a hammer that way. On those type of tasks, I go back to the classic Estwing.4Doesn't look as advertised! It doesn't look the same as the picture. Doesn't have the eagle on the top and doesn't have Estwing on the handle. Disappointed was a big selling point for me. 2much better.For the 15 OUNCE BLACK VINYL GRIP HAMMERIT IS EXCELLENT, and will last forever.-Union Carpenter LOCAL 291 Albany NY5Kinda pigish with lipstickGreat looking. Like the straighter claw. However, side puller sucks. The gut isn't wide enough for bigger nails to fit. Plus, there isn't much leverage to pull nails with due to how it is positioned. Don't like the Bubble in the grip. In the middle of the handle has a wide spot that makes it uncomfortable. For the most part, it's a great looking hammer, just a few design flaws. On the positive, it does drive nails well. Drives nails like a traditional 22 or 24 oz hammer4Awesome hammer! (No eagle though)The best framing hammer I've ever held hands down. I like every aspect of it, the weight, the length, the color/shape... It's not too heavy but still can pack a whallop for when you need it. The magnetic nail set and side nail puller are also a very nice touch! As everyone else said though... there is no eagle on it! I won't let that affect my review but don't get your hopes up.5Poor machine workI m a little disappointed with this hammer. It was poorly machined and arrived with a scratch on the black oxide coat. The chamfer around the head is uneven and the corrugated face is missing a row of teeth. It might still function ok, but it s not the level of quality and craftsmanship I expected for the price.3BUY IT!Great hammer! I had the 20 oz and moved to the 19 oz because of the black color, side nail puller and nail starter. The black powder coating is starting to chip off after only a few months of use. Other than that, it's an Estwing and it speaks for itself.5
