Suits my needs nicely My dish rack took up too much space in my kitchen so I finally decided to purchase a drying mat, and I m really happy I did! I bought two and swap them out so one can thoroughly air dry while I use the other one. I put them away when not in use (just fold in half and put in a drawer or stand against a wall). It s great having the extra counter space. I ve been using them for a little over a month and have had no problem with odor. They absorb well and dry quickly. They re nicely cushioned so I don t have to worry about my fragile glasses breaking. I throw them in the washer about once a week, and then in the dryer, and they ve held up well. Just be sure to allow some air flow of your wet dishes. For example, I prop bowls over utensils or over the edge of the mat. I occasionally need to dry some of the dishes with a dish rag, but that can happen in a dish rack as well. 5Saves a lot of wear and tear on your dishwasher. This is a simple but great product. I hand wash a lot more dishes now that I have the convenience to place the rinsed dishes in something to absorb the water. I was using a folded dish drying cloth before this but this looks much better, gives me a larger drying area on my counter, and is much more absorbent. I use a dish rack over half the mat and the other half is free to lay things directly on. Being able to hand wash things more easily saves on the number of times I have to run the dishwasher and helped keep my sink from overflowing with dirty dishes. 5A Unique, Affordable and Quality Product, But For Best Results, Follow the Directions for Usage and Maintenance. The one that convinced me to buy it was written by Aceto on January 10, 2013; however, many others reported that this product needs to be prewashed with liquid detergent and tumble dried on a low setting before first use to prevent it from bleeding through on the countertop.We wash most of our products in the dishwasher; however, we have some crystal vases, glasses and delicate pieces that we hand wash, as well as pots and pans and extras that will not fit into the dishwasher. We have been using dish towels up to now, but this product is so much better.This durable mat combines two super absorbent microfiber layers sandwiching a thin but absorbent layer of foam and holds 4 times its weight in water. It dries quickly, folds and stores with ease, is attractive and the perfect size, at 16 by 18 inches, to fit on my counter top.Although this item looks like it could have many uses, the directions specifically say that it is not to be used as a pot holder, oven mitt, or hot pad, but works perfectly as countertop protection from scratches and scuffs from mixers, blenders, etc.I like the fact that it is the correct thickness of a sturdy surface to safely dry delicate glassware without the need of hand drying them.To top it off, this product has a free of charge replacement guarantee for the material and workmanship.While the mat has a piece of material on one corner of the backside to fit on a hook for drying, mine dries quickly on the counter.This product fits my needs, looks good, is priced right and just the right size and color for my kitchen.If you follow the directions and use it properly, I think you will like it too.Enjoy! 4Perfect Drying Mat We love this mat. The jumbo size is awesome and fits perfectly on the countertop. As long as you're cleaning your dishes well, you're only going to get water dripping onto this, so it doesn't have to be clean too often. Very convenient to use and then fold up and store under the counter when not in use. Highly recommended! 5Perfect Kitchen Addition I bought this to use for the times you don't want to use your dishwasher such as a small meal or for those items you don't want in the dishwasher such as your pans or fine glassware. I didn't want an unsightly dish rack sitting on my counter and I have black counter tops and wanted something to blend in a bit and not worry about pans scratching the counter. This works perfectly, and I'm amazed at how much it can actually absorb. It's a nice size for multiple pans and dishes and you can just toss it in the washer machine to clean up, if needed. I saw this in an advertisement and decided to try a couple out, as we just redid our kitchen and I was looking for something to replace our old dish drying rack. Within a day of using the first two, I bought three more, so I always have at least two clean. These things are awesome! They are lightweight, dry fast, easy to clean, look great (or as great as something like this can) on a kitchen counter - especially the black ones on a dark countertop - and I can fit whatever sized items I need on them -tons of little things, or a humongous item, and anything in between (just add a second or third one if the item is large or odd-sized enough). I wouldn't get this mat if you have white counters! 3keeps my counter dry I usually put a towel on the counter under the dishes I'm unloading from the dishwasher. I bought this when I read some other positive reviews and I have no regrets. It folds nicely for me to set aside when not in use and easily is placed on the counter to hold the dishes that are still wet out of the dishwasher. New dishwashers don't have a drying element so there are a fair amount of wet dishes that was sitting on the counter before putting in the cabinet. This was starting to leave a lot of water marks on the counter top. This mat has absolutely saved me time in polishing the counter tops and keeps the water drips out of the cabinets. 5Excellent Product! Very pleased with these! I bought several so I can wash them regularly. All of the other products I have tried under my dish drainer always gets that lime deposit quickly and is impossible to clean off and looks terrible so thought these would be a good solution because they can cleaned in the wash machine. I do all my dishes by hand so am very glad to find these. The 18x24 inch fits perfectly on my old fashioned roll edge type counters from the 70's. 5The size of this mas was perfect but that was all that was good about it I was looking for a mat that was bigger than my dish rack/ strainer. The water just pools on top and either you have to somehow wring it out or put it in the dryer after every use, or just let the water pool day after day. Waste of money. 1
