This one blow them all away hands down. Easy, quick and makes a good roll. 5Don't overload and it works perfect!Well worth it's cost. I have tried to make sushi in the past with the bamboo mat and I could never get it tightly rolled. I bought this out of a whim to see if really worked. I just made 3 rolls. The first one I put way too much rice in and it came out bad with rice packed on the sides of the roller. The other two came out perfect! Do watch the you tube videos to get the idea as the directions are difficult. 5So far, the BEST sushi roller I have encountered.Every Friday I hand roll my own sushi. I go to a local fish market and get sushi-grade salmon. I have bought a number of more convenient sushi rollers. They do not do a good job. This one is terrific! My rolls come out totally perfect looking. When I hand rolled, they would vary visually in results. This is a great product! Works the best when the seaweed sheet is on the outside. When making sushi with the rice on the outside it does not work as well and you need a few extra steps (and plastic wrap)to make it work. It did the job, but had a crease or wrinkle it it where the halves came together. This Easy Sushi Roller eliminates that by rolling around in the mold.The sushi rolls as tight as a cigar. I always found myself bewildered at the prices for vegetable sushi. I mean after all, it's just vegetables and rice, the cheapest foods on the planet. I eat quite a bit of sushi as well, so $6 dollars a roll would add up fast. I mean, I can purchase all the ingredients for veggie rolls for 6 bucks and make 10x the amount I'd get premade.Now coming back to review this item, months later, and I see the price has gone up to $29. I was surprised that the roll came out nice and round! I will say that I was not too happy about the quality of the plastic sheeting in the roll maker. I would have thought for the price I paid it would have been a bit better quality. 4Skeptical at first, almost as good as a sushi chef.Bought the sushi maker was skeptical at first. Opened up the packaging and noticed how simple the product is has a clam shell design with a piece of plastic that you pull out. Took probably five minutes to figure out how to use it. After you figure out how to use it is very easy and fast to use. It's fun if you have people over at your house for a social activity. had friends over and we made different kinds of sushi it was fun experimenting and seeing what we could make cuz it was fast and easy to make. Cleaning up is very simple the only thing I would recommend is pulling the black towel out of the plastic and rolling up a paper towel or something else that absorbs water and threading it down the hole to clean the water out. I do feel like it is overpriced for what it is. Feel like this product should be 10 to $15 for what materials this product is made out of. Making these by hand is messy and tedious. I wanted something to make it simpler. I already have a susheezi, which is very nice and very quick, but I wanted something to make smaller sushi rolls as well because I don't always have enough rice or fillings for the bigger one. There are videos online that tell you how to use this. Some things I learned re making sushi rolls that I have not found in any book but that I learned from a friend in Japan is that you are supposed to turn the cooked rice out into a bigger bowl and both fluff it up and dry it out a bit, using the paddle that comes with the rice maker. This is why Japanese traditionally used wooden bowls but nowadays they just use plain old glass like we do. And when you make the sushi rolls, the rice should not be packed down - there should be air between the grains so that it 'pops' when you place a piece in your mouth.. No book on making sushi I have ever seen has explained this. 5
