    What a POS! Fell apart after a couple of uses!!We had an old tandem swing that was faded in the sun and suspended from ropes That thing tho was indestructible and could hold an adult. This POS swing has a seam between the top and the bottom parts of the seat and this runs all along where the top and bottom meet. This is a VERY WEAK spot, and the top part/ the seat caved in under just a couple of uses for my 3 and 5 y.o.!!! I hate this POS b/c it was pricey and was a pain to hang up. Now I have to replace it -- it is not only caved in but always full of rainwater which gets into the seam and us super heavy and the rain water spills out! This happened literally a couple of weeks into my kids' use of it. What a bummer. Do not recommend. 1Overall great product05-20-2014Let me start off saying that this thing is BEEFY! It has sliding angles attached to the bracket by u-bolts, with self locking nuts. I installed this set on a 4 x 6 using 2 5" 7/16 bolts, flat washers, lock washers AND lock nuts (i know overkill). I would recommend using 4.5" long 7/16" bolts as the the 5" long ones did nothing but make me wrench the nuts down further, my local hardware store didn't have 4.5" so I made due. This leads me to state that the holes drilled into the angles seem to be 12mm holes, as a 1/2" diameter bolt was too big, hence me using the 7/16".The install process was hindered by lack of instructions, but if your the type to install these yourself then the missing instructions won't be an issue. I used a 17" spacing from center to center as that's what the other accessories on my playground were spaced to. After spacing it out I measured approximately 7.5" of bracket overhang on either side of the 4 x 6 beam, squared the bracket to the beam, clamped the angles to the beam with a 6" c-clamp, then tightened the angles to the bracket with the u-bolts. I traced the angle holes onto the beam with a pencil on all four angle holes. Using a 1/8" drill bit I drilled a pilot hole from the middle of the marked hole on the beam as straight as I could to the other side. One hole came out perfect, the other one was just a tad off, so make sure you are perpendicular to the side of the and it should come out alright. I used a 7/16" drill bit and enlarged both holes with great results thanks to the initial pilot hole. I gently tapped the 7/16" bolts through the angles and secured it with one flat washer on the head side and one flat washer and a lock washer on the other side, finished off by the lock nut (again, overkill because of lock washer).Now, why only 4 stars? The brackets were not shipped with the attaching hardware that was advertised as part of the product, nor did it have instructions!!! As you can see from the first paragraph I had to purchase additional hardware to complete this install. 4Kids love the swing! However, chains are too short, and have green (not yellow) plastic coveringPROS:-Very durable (both bracket and swing)-Relatively easy to put togetherCONS:-Plastic coating on swings is green, not yellow (not a huge deal, but not as advertised)-Swing chain is too short (we solved this by buying additional chain, a bolt cutter, and zinc plated quick links, from Home Depot)Hope that helps! 3Design and Packaging Flaws Good ProductThis would have been a 5 star rating if it was just based on how well it works when installed. It is sturdy and I am confident it will work very well if monitored to ensure no bolts have become loose [see issue with these below].Unfortunately, the implementation of the design has one very annoying flaw. The 4 U bolts used to clamp each crossbar to the 2 mounting brackets are too short. The bolts barely (and in one case did not) have enough of the U bolt's threads protruding from the mounting brackets to screw them on to. Then (after hunting for dropped washers and bolts due to their being barely screwed on) trying to tighten the bolts so that any of the U bolt's threads reached the fiber ring on the bolt was impossible without the mounting brackets bending. Before someone asks, I did not mount the brackets to the swing's beam before trying to get the U bolts connected. That would have been a nightmare.The final complaint is how they were shipped. The box was broken wide open in 2 of its corners. This was most likely due to the weight of the crossbars and how they were packed. All of the pieces were shipped loose in an unsealed plastic bag. I had to replace a few washers and nuts that were lost [presumably] during shipping. 3Horse glider swing with coated chains.Item arrived as expected. Everything exactly what I expected! My husband hung up on our newly built swingset/wood beam. Very disappointed when older grandchild sat on it and the plastic slighly folded/ together, not by the middle of seat closer to the front handles. My husband said it could have been due to heat. It was too hot to sit on without a towel on it. If it happend again he will rebuild part of it with wood. My advice, dont get dark green seat and only use with toddlers. Child was maybe 100 pounds? Seat should be made more solid up right through. 2The swing is just as advertised. The 4 point ...The swing is just as advertised. The 4 point mounting bracket is necessary for the swing to work as intended. View my photo.I made the 2 brackets out of a 2x6x36 and put the hooks 14 inches from center. Then mounted the brackets 15 inches apart on the swing.Cost: 4.77 plus the hooks 1.74 each = $11.73 ( you need the hooks no matter what bracket you use) 4Strong/Quality productUsed to supplement a glider swing installation. Eastern Jungle Gym knows how to design and construct quality wooden swing set accessories. I am really impressed with everything I have bought that has allowed me (a 78 yr old grandmother) to build a double incredible wooden swing set for grandkids 12 and 3. I intend to add a tower/fort with slide in between the two swing sets to tie them together. I am having a blast. 5my kiddos loved it! They anxiously awaited while I got it ...It was a bit of a bear putting together. And it didn't come with snap hooks to hang on my existing play set. So I had to run to the hardware store to get some. Then the ones I got were too big for the chain, so then I had to go back and return them and buy some that were smaller. But once I got all that squared away and got it hung, my kiddos loved it! They anxiously awaited while I got it all set up and then we spent a good solid hour swinging on it. 5My grandchildren love it!My grandchildren love it (a 7-year-old girl and two 4-year-old boys)! I already had a one-rider glider that I bought about five years ago, but they were always competing for turns on it. So I bought this one, and now two can ride at a time, back to back. I think that they feel even a little more stability with their backs against each other, rather than leaning against the plastic back of the one-person glider.The only negative is that it s more physical exertion for me to swing two at a time, and I can t swing them as high as I could swing one child. Pushing two children at a time really wears out my shoulders. The kids love it, though, and I can t argue with that. 5Amazing quality for the priceThese are great sturdy brackets. My husband put them up and said they were extremely easy to put up and very sturdy. He says that anyone with basic handy man skills could do it.He did mention that the brackets come with lag-bolts which wouldn't have worked with our swing set because the main beam is not very thick (FYI: we have the Backyard Discovery Pathfinder Ii Cedar Wooden Swing Set from Walmart). So he had to use a couple of nuts and bolts he had lying around instead of the lag bolts and said it worked just fine.He also said that the lag-bolts were very high quality so he is keeping them for another project. 5
