Customer Reviews

Awesome!Really great! I'm using them for my Raven cosplay belt and they are perfect! The perfect size and color and I can't wait to use them! It came undamaged and on time. 10/10 would recommend lol. 5Best grommet for home DIY use!Love it! Love it!! Love it!!! Thank you Dritz!!!! These are so easy to use, child of 3 could do it. I created a cloth shower curtain for my RV bathroom in flamingo pink. I could not find a small size shower curtain with the color I wanted. The bathroom is turquoise and flamingo pink with a pink flamingo motif. I found sheer polyester curtains at IKEA, chopped down to size, folded over the top so there is some thicker cloth to grab (you do not want the cloth too thin), and put these on. Fabulous!!When you fold over your cloth, you want a medium thickness, not canvas thick. These are plastic grommets, not metal, so will be very hard to put onto a canvas cloth IF FOLDED OVER TOO THICK. For canvas cloth, keep it thinner with a 1 or 2 fold ply. For voile or medium weight cotton, 3 folds is perfectly fine.Fold over your curtain, sew your top hem line. Use chalk to draw a horizontal middle line cutting the top hemline in half to use as a guide. Arrange curtain on floor or table, with back side facing you and good side facing table. Place a grommet on either end and middle. Place grommets in between these marker grommets eyeballing for symmetry. Mark center of grommet with a vertical chalk line cutting center line. Generally 6-8 inches apart looks right for smaller curtains. Use the spacing that looks right for larger curtains or look this up online if you want to be technical. My RV is a dollhouse, so everything is smaller and more dainty.Use clear plastic template provided with each pack, to draw a circle where you want the grommet. Your center chalk line is very useful at this point, making them line up evenly. Use curved small 4 inch embroidery scissors to cut a hole in the cloth. The template hole is sized exactly right to the grommet, so have no fear! I used this pair of scissors for my work - http://www.amazon.com/Gingher-Curved-Embroidery-Scissors-01-005273/dp/B000UU4O20 much cheaper on Amazon than the $45 I paid to the local sewing shop. These curved snips are very useful in all sewing work so money is not wasted. I use some Fray check around the cut cloth so it does not fray with time and is very solidly built.Put the good half of a grommet (raised rings inside) on the good side of your curtain, and the bad side of the grommet (has prongs inside and a gap for screwdriver) on the bad side of curtain. Snap together. Done! If you need to pry open the grommets anytime, use a flat head screwdriver in the hole on bad side of grommet to pry open easily.Wash carefully in cold or warm water or hand wash. No agitator washing machine only front-loading drum machine. No dryer at all!!! Hang dry. You don't want damaged or melted plastic in dryer.Note: This is the best you are going to get in the home DIY large grommet category. You cannot get metal grommets this size for DIY because you need a special and very expensive hand press with metal die matched to grommet size. If you invest in those, then yes, you can do metal grommets any size at home. But they don't sell them as DIY kits and are much harder to make. I heartily recommend these grommets for all DIY home applications. The grommets are cheap and you can always replace them. Much more cost effective solution.I was not paid to write this review even if it does sound like advertising. I am a DIYer and I did a lot of research before using these. 5LOVE these! Yes they are plastic as the description ...LOVE these! Yes they are plastic as the description says, but they snap together with ease and you cannot tell the difference when they are hanging. I bought a set of 6 drapes that I love, but they had a rod pocket which I hate. My windows looked like they were having the worst hair day. It took my about 2 hours to install 8 grommets on each of 6 panels and they look like completely different drapes. They snap together easily (you have to push down one side at a time) and hold securely. Very impressed. 5Excellent grommets! Good quality and easy to install. So glad I decided to try these grommets for my curtains!I wanted something minimalistic and easy to use. These are perfect and look better than expected. I used medium weight cotton fabric. On the picture you can see that I just folded the fabric and included the interfacing. I didn't want any seams on top. So, after folding and pressing, I stitched the sides and the bottom of the curtain. Then I marked and cut the holes for the grommets. Please keep in mind that three layers of fabric plus the interfacing was a bit too think to snap the grommets on easily. And I didn't want to cut the interfacing around because it would compromise the stiffness and change the look. I had to carefully use a rubber hammer to snap the grommets in place and they successfully survived the abuse without cracking. Using thiner fabric would be a piece of cake.Love those and highly recommend. I hope you find this helpful. 5but I'm very happy with themI used these to create Ravens belt from Teen Titans. Not their intended use, but I'm very happy with them! 5... stars because the shipping and the price point were good; howeverI'm giving this product two stars because the shipping and the price point were good ;however, a majority of these failed. After anguishing with my grommet hole, cutting back as much fabric and practically standing on the grommets only 3 out of the 8 in one of these packages worked. The rest of them are dysfunctional. 2These were easy to use and look greatThese were easy to use and look great. I used the provided template to draw a circle at the appropriate spot. Then I just used sewing shears to cut the fabric. The rings are male/female. Before snapping the two rings together make sure all the male rings are on the same side of drape. Likewise for the female rings. There is a slight difference in the look when finished. The template has orientation markings so you can measure for placement of the circles. You MUST use an even number of rings per each drapery panel so the drapery panel's two edges point back to the window! Before drawing the circles for rings, you need to consider how much drape should extend past the last ring on either end of the width. This is important for wall-to-drape depth so there is privacy from the side of the window. Or you end up short and exposed!!! Example: you may need 3" from the wall to the drape rod. I really don't know how better to describe this. 5Excellent ProductBought a table top fire pit, but needed to use the umbrella hole in the table for hose connection. Since our patio table top is glass, I still wanted to use tablecloths for protection against scratches, but my cloths didn't have the umbrella hole feature. These grommets couldn't be easier. Use the template that comes with them. Cut out the hole and attach! Also, with a simple flathead screwdriver, pop it apart to readjust, if needed. Even though they're plastic, they stood up to our "testing" with ease. 5Works great and won't rust. These work great. Yes they are plastic, but you can't tell when they are hung. Plus, if you use washable fabric, hand wash and hang dry. These won't rust and stain your fabric like the metal grommets do!. Easy to apply, just don't hammer or pound them. Firm pressure with the heal of your hand is all you need. 5Very easy to update the look of curtainsI have used these grommets countless times to update the look of curtains in my rental units and they are so simple to use. I always use a 4 inch wide strip of interfacing in the header of the curtains but cut the interfacing slightly outside the diameter of the grommet so it is not included in the over all thickness of the material. My trick for cutting out the interfacing is to use a clear drinking glass that is 2 3/4 inches in diameter to trace around, works perfect every time. For panels less than 42 inches wide I only use 6 grommets. I start with measuring the center of the template 2 1/2 inches from the egde of the panels then space the remaining grommets equally between these two outside grommets always using an even amount of grommets 6, 8, or 10 per panel depending on the width so they will thread and hang properly on the curatin rods. I have never had any of them break and would think that is you are really forcing these together then look to make sure you have them lined up properly as they snap together easily with just a small amount pressure. 5
