Customer Reviews

No More Burns!Highly recommend these for any crafter / sewist. They come in handy for so many projects involving items such as ironing, steaming and setting seams, using high temperature glue guns, rhinestone setters, so much more. I am so glad I found this product. No longer have to worry about getting burns or blisters while working on projects. High temp glue will still be VERY warm on your fingers with these thimbles but at least you won't get a bad burn. 5No more burned fingers while ironingAs a quilter, I do a lot of ironing. I was constantly burning my fingers while ironing small pieces. I was thinking it would be great if there was finger protection. I looked online and, voila, they do make them. Happy quilter here with no more burned fingers. Other reviews say they fall off your fingers. I don't have any problems with them staying on. 5Great for hand sewing!I like them for sewing better than a metal thimble. I can still feel what I an doing, can protect multiple fingers, and they fit great. 5Saves My Fingers!I wish I had come across these years ago! These are wonderful at protecting my fingers when I need to iron something while holding it down. These thimbles aren't completely immune to heat of course, but are protective enough that I haven't come close to sacrificing my fingers. The only thing that I don't like about them is that they are HUGE. I expected this, as I have very small hands and very skinny fingers, but they're large enough to fall off if I'm not paying close enough attention. That said, the large size makes them easy to slip on and off. Overall, I'm very pleased!! 4NO MORE Steam Burned FingertipsYou know, for some reason I've always had thin-skinned fingertips. They have always burned easily, and with as much steaming as I do with sewing various things, it was a constant issue.I never even knew these things existed until I stumbled upon them in a Nancy's Notions catalog. I am thrilled with them. I did buy the little "stiletto" but sometimes you just have to get your fingers in there so these are truly perfect for my poor fingers.BUY THESE if you fingertips are thin like mine and you're constantly going "ouch" when you steam iron. I don't think you'll be sorry. This is a set of three and they all three fit my thumb, index and middle finger, respectively (with a little bit of tugging on the smallest one).Hope this helps, teri b 5Does what they're supposed to do!They work!! What more can I say? I bought these silicone thimbles to use with a high temperature glue gun. I needed something to put on my fingertips to keep my skin from burning. They did the job!! What I would recommend is buying two sets. 5Melting nylon cord endsI've been using these when melting the ends of nylon cords and straps that need to pe pressed or shaped by pinching. So far, the nylon doesn't seem to stick to them.I tend to end up pushing small needles, like quilting needles, with the side of my middle finger and these help a lot. They also work all right as needle grippers. 5I had 4 hours is steam ironing to do related ...I had 4 hours is steam ironing to do related to a complex sewing project. My fingers had to be right on the fabric to hold it in place within once inch of the iron. Before thr thermal thimbles, I "scalded" my fingers. Mother thimbles allowed me to complete my project without firer discomfort. 5I think small and medium hands will be very happy with theseI really wasn't expecting much from these but they turned out to be quite effective against the heat. I use them to handle hot glue with my fingers. I just couldn't stand the burns and blisters anymore. I wasn't expecting them to work as well as they do. You feel warmth through them but not heat. The 3 sizes worked well for me. My fingers are small so I used the smallest on my index finger and the medium on my thumb. The larger one intended for most thumbs was too big for me. I think small and medium hands will be very happy with these. Large hands might find they fit a little snug but if you're not working for hours on end, it should do the job. 5Could be betterWhile they seem to work OK, I think a better option would to be offer them as singles where you could choose the size. One of them is too small for any of my fingers, and the other 2 are tight fits. 3
