    Quality elastic that meets expectations. Sometimes there is no real difference between name brand products and generic but I've found generic elastics are often very poor quality. This elastic was everything it said it was. White (not dingy or yellow or gray as are many generics); 1/4" (not 3/16" as are many generics); Braided; and has the quality stretch from 3" to 6.5". And as far as the length? Yes I checked - it was actually 70 yards (an extra 5 yards instead of shorted by yards as are many generics). At $20.25 (29 cents a yard) it was more expensive than the generic, but I needed it right away and didn't want to risk having to return a substandard product. Yes, it was made in China but there was no odd chemical-ish odor to it, and it is exactly the same product you can buy in local fabric stores. It was much less costly than if purchased from a fabric store (even when you can buy an entire roll from them) and was delivered when promised, so I'm very pleased all around with this elastic. (This was sold by Amazon.com LLC. and shipped via Amazon Prime.) 3good buy we used elastic to close cabinets instead of baby safety contraptions. holy way cheaper and just as good. my son is 5 and we still have the same elastic on the under the counter drawers. very durable. very sturdy. very reliable. in fact, now he is using the elastic band as a step up to reach his toothpaste in the medicine cabinet (no meds in there, just toothpaste and my glasses!) very sturdy. i don't know what else this is meant to be used for but we hit it out of the ballpark using it to secure cabinets. good buy. 5Used in modifying a backpack shoulder strap pouch manufactured by ... This material is identical, down to the number of ribs, to the elastic the item comes with. 5Great to replace tie cords in pants I like to wear sweat pants in the fall, winter and spring. Of course, new sweat pants come with a tie cord around the waist... I hate these. I'm 5'10" and 175 lbs, so I'm "slender". The tie cord is not sufficient to hold the pants up... and I'm too lazy to tie/untie the cord. So, I use this elastic in place of the tie cord. You have to make a small cut in the back of the tie cord channel to release the tie cord. After that, just tie the elastic around one end of the tie cord and pull it through. I then tie a loose knot in the elastic for a week or so until I find the right amount of tightness. Once I find the right tightness, I tie a simple double-knot; cut off the excess, and rotate the elastic through the channel an inch or two, to move that small knot away from the belly-button.I first tried 3/4" elastic. It didn't seem to have as much "stretch" so it didn't work well. I also tried 3/8" a while ago, and it seemed to lose it's "stretch" too soon (after a few months). So, I think this 1/2" size is just about right. It will last the life of these pants (2 years). 5Great price and lots of material The biggest key to having a wig look natural is having it secured tightly to your head. And you don't have to use glue or tape to achieve that result. I purchased this to add supplemental support bands to my wigs. They are the right elasticity and width. You just cut a piece to your need and use a weaving needle and thread to sew it onto the sides of the wig. There many examples on you tube. If you do it right, your wig will fit just a natural as your own hair. And you don't have to worry about it shifting. And this unlike the elastic that comes standard on wigs these will not lose their shape. I had searched for this item at my local department store and they did not carry the black in this wider width. And the cost at the fabric store was far greater than what I found here. This is 6 yards and will last for many years. 5For Cuffs of raincoat I want the cuffs of my new raincoat to fit snugly when out in the wind and rain. This product was almost the right width to slip through the hem and gather the fabric; but, I should have gotten elastic twice as wide as this thin strip. 3gets the job done. Always good to have some of this around in my sewing kit . Turned out to be a good size for me and easy to work with too. Not cheap or sub standard in anyway . Its durable , sturdy and a good value as well. 5sturdy, great sturdy, great, frayed a bit when cut, but just needed to be sewn down. Because of the thickness, it became extra thick and slightly inflexible when sewn down or together. Also, sometimes when hand sewing, the elastic from inside the fabric would come through and be pulled out, which was not only hard to pull the stitch through, but also left pieces of grey plastic hanging out. Since I used this on the inside of a garment and the elastic was never seen, that was ok and I cut off the plastic but still. Also this is sold at Walmart, im not sure it its cheaper, but its located in the fabric shop if your walmart has one. 4Perfect for DIY Fitted Sheets from Flat! I used this to transform four flat sheets into fitted. It was all I needed. I just measured the sheet, took the difference between the size of the bed and the size of the flat sheet and divided it in half to get my measurements for cutting out the corners. I sewed the corners together and then sewed the elastic on the inside, stretching it as I sewed. The converted flat sheets have deeper pockets than the original fitted sheets that came with the set. And the elastic worked wonderfully! 5Good Elastic This is a good elastic but a little on the lightweight side compared to other l/2 inch braided elastic I have used. I can use this product but was a bit disappointed in it for the waists of cotton skirts I make for little girls. It had a little too much "give/stretch" to it. 4
