    Looks good so far! Replaced the original Toyota Insulator Pad on my 99 tacoma PreRunner this afternoon with this product. The original is fiberglass with a scrim cover that had disintegrated in the underhood heat. Used the original as a template and cut out the new pad. Installed new pad using new push in clips (absolutely necessary). The only question is whether the jute backing behind the foil will hold up to the underwood temps... We'll see. Toyota offered a replacement pad for approx. $220.00. Not happening. 5Keeps the mildew from forming on the wall My fridge fits tight between the wall and kitchen cabinets. I was getting mildew on the wall next to the fridge. There is more than an inch from wall to fridge. So I nailed this sheet of insulation onto the wall. Now I have a barrier between the fridge and wall .Worked great. 5Superior for my application I used thermal tape to secure this product to an interior home door that is too near a propane space heater. When the door was left open it would scorch the wood door; a serious hazard. Four inches away from the flames, this pad barely gets warm. Problem solved, and I must admit I am amazed at how well it works for this application. It is also seems to slightly improve the heat effeciency by reflection. (No I cannot change the logistics here, and neither is that the point.) 5Easy to use A little bit thick but you can cut the sheet with a good pair of scissors. Beware if you try to drill through anything with it over the area it will wind up around the drill bit very quickly. Used RTV to glue it at first (cold air intake system) but some parts I pulled off and wrapped it with the rest to form a complete wrap around. Looks very nice and it will look good. 5Nice product does not measure exactly 4ft x 6ft Nice product does not measure exactly 4ft x 6ft. its an inch to an inch and a half off each side. other then that its good. the Metallic side rubes/flakes off when rubbed a bit. 2Returned Reflective material was coming off of the backing straight out of the box. Returned it. 1Not quite large enough for midsized car floor pan. Much quieter inside. Worked good for laying under carpet in my 69 GS.Have not touched floor to see if heat still transfers or not, but much cooler and quieter in there than with no carpet or pad in place, like a while new car... Tough to punch holes for bolts, don't try and drill through it, it will bind up on bit. I used small utility knife set, like scalpel to cut holes for seats and seat belts. 5x8 would have been a better size to do all of my floorpan. Prob good size for smaller car. 5It keeps your car cool when it is blazing hot outside. This shield fits like a glove. It is well made product and keeps the heat out of the car. You will really notice the difference after the first use. You can buy shields for much less but they DO NOT KEEP the car from heating up. It is a well made product as nothing has faded or frayed on the edges. 5Insulates great even on 90 degree days! Installed this under the carpet in my 1992 miata and around the transmission tunnel area. It really keeps out the heat and makes the heat from the transmission not as noticeable on hot days. Make sure to install with the aluminum upwards for best results. 5Enough to get the job done I got this item to replace the engine hood liner in a car and so far, got it to fit up without much issue. Its not car show quality work but still looks nice as if it was made with the vehicle. There are a few things to point out for anyone else thinking of using it.1.) It uses a woven insulator that is tightly interlocked together within the sheet so you don't have to worry about it coming apart like the household insulators which are loosely "layered", bulky, and not recommended for auto use. But this can also make it a bit tricky to properly punch holes through for the push-in liner retainers or bolt holes. Take care to not rough up the product when doing so to avoid damaging the foil layer and use the proper tools to measure and make the holes.2.) The foil layer does a decent job with heat control for it being thin if the insulation is applied correctly. But because its thin, this layer can easily tear apart if you're being too rough on the product during installation so take your time and don't let it get caught on rough and sharp surfaces.3. Excessive harsh/sharp bends can cause the foil layer to easily peel from the insulation since glue and fabric normally don't mix well. Make sure to have the proper headliner adhesive spray or applicator as backup in case it is required or for quick small repairs to the foil layer to bond back to the insulation. Again, also be careful to not be aggressive with the product to avoid issues during installation. 4
