Customer Reviews

just what I wanted So I bought this originally to cover a tissue box because I didn't feel like paying $20 for a tissue box cover (see the pic with the candles and lavender plant). But then I think I went a little crazy with the left over paper because I ended up covering glass, pencil holders, boxes, even the closures to plastic storage boxes lol. It's super easy to use, and very low maintenance. I accidentally got purple ink on one of them and it wiped right off with a little water. If you fold it around items, you may need to use some extra tape to keep the underside secure because it's not super sticky, it's like how a post-it note is. I love this stuff! I bought the pink floral scroll and it's a muted dusky pink. 5Tips to help Ok first I have 4 stars on easy to use because it is really hard to do alone. I had help thankfully. On the seams overlap a quarter inch. For some reason my seams shrank back, no big deal for where I installed this but if you are putting this in a large viewing area, do overlap. I love the pattern and you will never match it up but it doesn't matter looks great. One more thing, I tried to hang a picture in an orange frame on the paper. The paper makes it look blahhh, I took it down and put gold lined dishes against it and again blahhh lol. Green looks great against it though. 5Perfect transformation Nice effect, love it. Need some skill and take somePractice to apply the paper though. The pic showed a half done shelves as I am the raining paper is not enough, I am ordering a 2nd one and it's on it's way ! 5Wouldn't stick to a painted closet or its shelves Truly disappointed with the product- it stuck to everything BUT the painted surface it was supposed to go on. Stuck to itself, stuck to my fingers (and pulled right back off the surface), and refuses to stay stuck. I would have been better to line my shelves with newspaper! Opened my closet the day after, and there was paper loose, having fallen down, and quite a bit of it was curled up where it un-stuck from the shelves themselves. In utter disgust I wadded it all up and threw the entire mess into the trash! 1Love! Love! Love! Love this. Used it to redo a plain cabinet in my kitchen. Purple items for a kitchen are hard to come by, so I was really excited when I found this. Actually ordered another roll. Looks great, easy to apply. Thanks for offering it. 5Not what I was expecting, but very cute and works well... So for some reason, on my computer screen, this looked like it was going to be multiple shades of teal. 'In person' it's actually just a deep teal color against a white background. It's actually very pretty and I'm really happy with it, but sharing this so you know what to expect if you order the Monaco Teal color(!) Other than that, it works very nicely and I found it relatively easy to work with. [Note to the manufacturere: I wish the instructions came on a piece of paper rather than printed on the back of the actual contact paper - it interrupts the cutting gridlines! ] 5Contact Paper not what it used to be I bought the Aloe pattern. I really liked the design. Unfortunately, this did not really stick to the inside of my cabinets. That could partially be the fault of the surface itself (it has remnants of very old paper on it), but the most recent layer of contact paper that I removed stuck for at least 10 years with no issue.I installed this paper on one shelf and realized within a day that it was coming loose. So, I removed it, sanded the wall and re-installed it. Still coming loose. Very disappointing! 2Vinyl liner tries hard but doesn't live up to its description... Cons:1) The description and picture of this item says it's gold colored but it's waay more green than gold, which is quite depressing. I couldn't find another giant roll pattern I liked here, at Target, or Walmart, or the other hundred places I looked... so I kept this one.2) The adhesive is not strong enough to stick on old particleboard-type shelves so if that's your case, better get a big bottle of Elmer's glue, an old credit card (or better yet a Tekton or Bondo spreader) and be prepared to spend alotta face time with your cabinets. If you aren't sure you'll need to take these extra steps, apply it to one shelf, wait 24 hrs. If you see it bubbling up and coming unstuck then go for the Elmer's.(Helpful hints posted below)Pros:1) The upside of this 'repositionable' adhesive is you'll be able to move it around as long as it doesn't overlap onto itself. Once it's stuck to another piece it's much harder to undo.2) The vine-and-leaf design hides the seams well and doesn't need precise matching.3) The vinyl feels amazing, it's thick and silky smooth and seems very durable. I love that it makes my old cabinets fresh and easy to clean.4) I love the 60-foot roll. Never had to worry about running out. Some of the more elegant patterns are hard to find in large amounts, or they get discontinued, so I liked having more than enough of something I could live with.Helpful hints if you need to use glue:Wait to glue it in place until you've done the whole measure-cut-recut thing, removed the backing paper, and applied the liner to the shelf. Pull back a corner section or a whole side roughly halfway across the piece, apply the glue to the sticky side using the glue tip to spread it around, then carefully replace the paper. Use the credit card or spreader to smooth out the surface and squeeze out any extra glue. Do the other sections of that piece and move on. 3I used this to cover the inside of a trunk ... I used this to cover the inside of a trunk. It worked really well. Even when I made a mistake and had to remove the paper I was able to restick the same sheet as long as it didn't get stuck to itself. 5Beautiful This is a gorgeous pattern and seems slightly thicker than the plain color of the same company. It could also be that the plain color just showed the bubbles more. I recommend a pattern over plain color for that reason--bubbles are barely noticeable on this pattern. Easy enough to stick and re-position, but it helps to have an extra person. I found that a long, thin strip magnet was perfect for holding up large pieces while still on the backing; then I could easily peel the under side and stick down the top (I did have another person's help for most of the time). I covered an ugly 4-door filing cabinet and metal shelf with one roll of each--the pattern and the plain turquoise, although there was not enough to finish the backs (non-showing sides) of both, and I had to piece the one side of the filing cabinet half and half (turned out cute though). Brightened up my classroom and greatly improved the look of the chipped, grey metal cabinets. 5
