Don t use for bigger wreaths I bought this for my front door to hang a wreath on. It s not super heavy, but this didn t hold it at all. I tried it a second time (because it comes with two sticky strips), cleanse the door better, and let it sit for hours on hours.... still opened my door to find the wreath and hook (with stick strip) on the ground. I bought the big outdoor option. 1Great Quality! After a disasterous altercation with our brick-walled 1960s home, I realized I would have to settle with Command hooks instead of the traditional drill-in method. Saldy I truged to Amazon to find some tacky, plastic fixture to put in my pretty front entryway.Well, imagine my joy when I found command hooks that 1) looked stylish 2) matched my decor (brushed Venetian bronze) 3) were SOLID METAL! 4) held up to 5 lbs.Because that is what I found.These things are heavy too! Easy to install, just read the instructions on the back.Thank you Command hooks!! 5I m very pleased. I was looking for a way to hang ... This is my first experience using Command hooks and, so far, I m very pleased. I was looking for a way to hang a wreath on the front door of my new rental without causing damage or making any permanent changes. I was worried a plastic hook would look cheap but decided to risk wasting a few bucks and try a bronze colored Command hook. Even if I didn t like the look of it, I figured I would just use it to hang my wreath until Christmas and then switch it out with something better. I had it installed in seconds and waited a half hour before hanging the wreath. To my surprise, I couldn t be happier with the product. It s the perfect size and I love the color. I doubt anyone would even suspect it s plastic. I was worried the cold weather we re having would cause the hook to lose its grip but it s been well below freezing for days now and it s still holding strong. I ve since added a silver hook to both my bedroom and bathroom doors to hang my robe. Fantastic product that I highly recommend. 5Wait more than an hour before putting up the hooks Since I moved into an apartment, I've been going nuts buying these Command strips and hooks. I want to leave as little in the way of destruction as possible in a place I don't own.Anyway, in a review for one of the other Command strips (don't remember which one), a woman said what's always worked for her is to rub the area with isopropyl alcohol and then *wait 24 hours before adhering the hooks*.So far, she's been spot on. I put these on over a weekend, got the strips in place, waited until 24 hours had come, and put them up. It's only been a few days now, but there have been no problems whatsoever. The same is true for the other Command ones I've put up (for pictures, to hang mugs, to hang keys) - all the ones I've waited longer for are still holding up.Another one, where I only waited a few hours, came down a couple days after that. I didn't even know until I wondered what that crash was...lesson learned, and one I'm going to keep doing from here on out. 5Looks and acts like a permanant fixture, works in steamy bathrooms Exactly as described. Bought 2 to hang up towels in my boyfriend's small apartment bathroom since over-the-door hooks weren't working and we were told not to screw things into the wall. Looks very nice, like real solid fixtures, (which is what we wanted instead of something plastic and cheap looking) but we can still move them with no damage which is great. It consists of the foamy adhesive strip, a thick plastic mount and then the metal fixture part that locks over the plastic mount. The metal part can be taken off easily and the adhesive doesn't budge until you pull it out from the bottom. I've used command before and never seen damage but haven't tried to remove these yet.I was worried about them not being strong enough for heavy wet towels or the adhesive coming off from the steam but they've been up about a month and a half in a small bathroom with people who like hot showers almost every night and they are still holding strong and looking good with no scratches/rusting etc. I cleaned the wall first and didn't put weight on them for about 36hrs so it may have different results if you don't follow those application instructions. I'm very happy with this purchase and will definitely buy again. Highly recommend this for any thing really! 5Great Curtain Hangers I live in an apartment and wanted to hang some curtains without having to deal with nails, screws, and putting holes in the wall. These hooks were easy to use and I like how they're reusable; you just have to buy more large command strips for the back!Here's a picture of the hooks holding up a light curtain rod. You have to get a rod that's has a diameter that's small enough to fit in the hook. I used a rod that Amazon suggested.I also have a picture of the whole set up with the curtains! Strong and sturdy and it's keeping my curtains up! 5I'm Hooked! We purchased this hook for our front door, it attached quickly, easily, and with no mess, plus it looks great! Until I found a similar item, I didn't even realize that Command Hooks came in anything other than white plastic, but I've got to say this piece of hardware looks GREAT. The color is even, its been weather-resistant, and unless you knew what you were looking at, you'd swear that the product was somehow fixed to the door with a screw--rather than a small adhesive strip.We don't presently hang anything heavy from it (in fact, we use it to help display this sign... to ward off unwanted visitors, though my Avon loving Aunt Myrtle still hasn't quite gotten the hint). During the holidays, we attached a wreath that weighs just a shade under three pounds, and it survived the season without incident.Every so often, I give the hook a little tug, and I don't sense any loosening whatsoever. I used two of these hooks to support a light weight curtain rod over a 120" window holding up 6 sheer curtain panels. I couldn't be happier with the performance. I put them on the wall, gave them 24 hours to adhere to the wall, and voila - I have beautiful curtains with no holes. The curtains do sit a little close to the wall, but I can still open them if I would like to. I wouldn't recommend for curtains that are frequently opened and closed. 5Great for door wreath with a little help !!! Great for outdoor wreath! It does not have a huge gap between the part on the wall and the hook, however, so if you have a large or thick wreath, and as I commented to another reviewer - Do what I do...get some green flower wire at Hobby Lobby or Michaels or any craft or probably hardware store and run it around or through the wreath wire or wood stuff on the back of the wreath, then make a loop (as big as however much you want it to drop off the command hook) then tie it off - then hang THAT (the flower wire) on the command hook. I do it every year for a wreath on my outside door on this exact command hook and it holds indefinitely. I make the loop pretty small so the wreath isn t dropping off the hook enough to see it. Meaning, you can t see the hook at all when looking at my door - just the wreath. I have two wreaths I use - one is 24 and one is 30 and both are thick with evergreen and some decorations. In other words, these hooks hold a large, thick wreath just fine. 5used these to hold a curtain rod .... please read more where the area around the window is hollow. The wall is heavily textured, and these stick to the texture, if you follow the directions. Wipe the area with alcohol first, the other directions are on the package. I really like how, by using these, the curtain is very close to the window seal, no gaps. They look great and no one would guess they are not actual rod brackets. 5
