I didn't know what I was missing!I'm an old school coffee drinker. Just give me some drip machine coffee and I'm a happy camper... at least I was until I was introduced to pour over coffee. My husband and I loved it so much we had to order one for ourselves. And we're very happy with our gator so far. I haven't had it for long enough to speak to its durability, but it seems to be well made, and works really well. I will adjust my review if it's durability is lacking, but I don't really foresee that.A couple of notes:-I highly recommend using a gooseneck kettle because it makes it much easier to control the water flow over the grounds.-Do yourself a favor and do a little research on pour over coffee makers. The first time I tried to use it, I just read the instructions and poured way too fast, resulting in coffee tinted hot water.-Play around with how you brew it because you can get much different results just by the way you let the grounds bloom and how fast you pour. It only took us about a week to consistently make our coffee the way we like it. 5Best cup of coffee at homeWe have only had for a couple weeks but seems like it s well built. Definitely easy to use and takes less than 5 min to have probably the best cup of coffee you have had in a very long time. Kudos to the team as we love this product. 5durable, compact, handyI've been using a French press for a couple of years now, and while I do love that method, I tasted a proper cup of pour-over finally and thought that I need to switch over. It's crystal clear coffee, none of the muddiness you get with French press, and then also you don't get that bitter over-steeped flavor that comes with French press (since the coffee grains never really separate from the coffee, they're just pushed down to the bottom). So this method I think works best for an optimal cup of coffee that won't change flavors on you as you're drinking it. And this particular product is solid. The little filter cone it comes with is SUPER handy by the way -- it fits perfectly into a few of my mugs, and I use it when I want to make a quick mug of loose leaf tea without having to waste a sachet -- I only use the sachet's if I'm making a full pot. 5Nice setup!I have been using this everyday since it arrived and it works great! Yes the glass is a bit thin but just be careful and it will be fine.On my 4th day using it I was washing the filter and I noticed that the filter screen was starting to lift (see photo). The same day I received a email from this company asking how everything was going and if I needed any advice, I wrote them back and explained what had happened.They replied back and said that at the moment they had no filters in stock but If I could wait they would send one as soon as they were available so I said sure no problem send it when you have it. They were in constant contact until the filter shipped, they were kind, professional and truly nice in their correspondence.Bottom line this is coffee maker with no moving parts its not expensive, I would have been ok using the filter as is but what I believe is really great about this company is that they take customer satisfaction seriously and they are really cool people.Thanks guys! 5A great way to make a cup of coffee - Gator or Aeropress today?I love coffee. It is a good day when I to make the though decision between an Aeropress or a Gator. This pour over method is a great way to enjoy quality coffee. If you have a good grinder and you do a medium grind you won'd be disappointed with the result. The stainless steel filter does a great job of keeping grounds out of the brew, while letting some fine material and oils through. The oils and fine particulates add a very nice body to the coffee. It is super easy to clean. My only complaint is that the vessel seems fragile.This is a great addition to my Aeropress. 5A favorite at our houseOur family loves this pour over coffee pot. It gets used almost every day! Great quality 5Fantastica CoffeeMy Mother taught me how to Make Old Fashion Coffee where you added grounds to boiling water then using a filer fitted to a wooden handle you would gently pour the coffee into a waiting cup after the coffee had started to return a nice froth around the rim of the pot. Will now being a 64 Old Gentlemen, attractive, yet alone many times; Go Figure. I needed an easier way. The Coffee Gator is perfect for the Two Step that I do while making a Cup of Delicious Coffee the Old Fashion Way without the Mess. I use a paper filter with the Stainless Filter, one doesn't have to, but cleanup is so much easier. And you grind your beans a little finer releasing a slightly more tasteful and aroma filled cup. I use 3-1/2 Plastic Teaspoons of Freshly Ground Beans added to the filter and then very slowly pour water that had been brought to a Hard Boil. I fill the decanter (carafe) to the 2-3/4 Cup Mark and fill my Waiting Mug. With the Best Old Fashion Coffee that there is, short of My Mothers, But at this time I don't have the direct route or even an indirect one, to Heaven. So as My Mother Reminded me many times. Tonkavich 5Absolutely love my carafe.Small pot brewing has changed my world. I use a scale to measure my beans and this pour over brewer with carafe several times a day. I love that I can get a consistently great cup of coffee. It takes a little more of your attention than pressing a button on your clunky coffee machine but it's worth it.The main reason for this purchase was to reduce my dependance on coffee filters. It's nice that I'm not creating extra waste but the real benefit to me is that I'm not in danger of running out of filters. Nothing's worse than waking up in the mood for a perfect cup only to find you're all out of filters. 5Absolutely love this rig!I'm new to the world of pour over coffee but, this carafe/filter rocks! If you get the water temp and proportions correct it will produce a fantastic cup. The process itself adds a extra layer of enjoyment. Definitely by a nice gooseneck kettle, digital scale and thermometer. Follow the included instructions for proportions and watch a few YouTube videos on proper technique. Once you get the "bloom" down, you'll find it hard to drink conventionally percolated coffee. 5Takes time, worth it thoughI was fortunate enough to someone who has used one before and taught me pour a little water over grounds let set for about 20 to 30 seconds then do your first full pour of water. I use hazelnut coffee too (Seattle Best) and it smells and tastes even better. U barely use any cream or sugar, easy to control how strong you like it. You do have to have patience with it, it takes a food amount of time to make 4 cups of coffe definitely if you like it strong. So worth it though!!! I was sick of the office coffee and this is amazing!!! 5
