Best device ever if you hold baby up to "shower" themThe crux of this simple device is twofold: a cover over the bathtub faucet to prevent bumps (plastic is hard, but not as hard as the metal faucet), and a silicone piece directly underneath the faucet opening to deflect water horizontally. This is a godesend, especially for the way we bathe our baby.We used to use a tub, but he didn't really like being submerged, and his skin would get eczema when we did that. We started using the shower wand but he didn't like that, probably because the flow was too strong. This is perfect. The redirect horizontal flow of water is a solid wide gush, but not overly powerful. This is great for after shampooing his hair and holding him horizontally face up with the top of his head in front of the gush to rinse off the suds; and for lifting him vertically by the armpits and holding his body in front of the gush to wash his front and back. 5I just bleached everything weekly toys and allIt s functional, safe and has multipurpose qualities. I don t understand what the issue is with other Amazonians Complaining about mildew or mold. I bleach my bathtubs once a week and that s including this little gadget. It rinses w complaining about mildew or mold. I bleach my bathtubs once a week and that s including this little gadget. It runs as well And the whole family loves it! I bleach weekly because my child likes to play with a lot of toys and the anti-slip mat naturally becomes slimy underneath just after a couple uses. So I just bleached everything and then rinse well. 5Poorly designed, makes a huge messThis thing seemed awesome when I bought it. But pretty quickly I changed my mind on that. It does not fit very well on my totally standard sized faucet. I seriously thought I was going to break it getting it on there. And the shower head plunger thing doesn't work with this on. The bubble bath dispenser leaks when I don't want bubbles, and doesn't hold enough to bubble up the bath anyway. Worst, it doesn't make a gentle cascade of water. It shoots it in a violent fan straight out from the lip (which is right at the level of my bathtub wall), and gets water all over the place. I thought this would be a cooler version of a baby faucet protector, but it really isn't well designed. 1***Update*** I've had this for over 1.5 years***Update*** I've had this for almost 2 years. Has not molded. I was paranoid about it molding at first, so I would try it after every bath and spray it with alcohol. But after a while I got lazy and would just take it off the faucet, give it a few shakes to get the water out and leave it out to air dry. Still no mold problems at all. I do believe it may be because I don't use the soap/bubble dispenser.I've never had the issue of it falling off the faucet because my kids don't touch or mess with it during bath time. I do not have the shower knob on my faucet. It can come off easily if my kids were to pull it off.It does have a small crack on the green part because I accidentally dropped it, but works absolutely fine.Great for washing kid's hair. All they have to do is lean back. Also creates a nice arc of water to churn water when I put bubble bath in the tub.I would recommend this to my friends and family. Still using this product with no issues or problems. 5Dont botherUpdate: 6 months in and the deflector is super moldy. Its only going in the trash from here. Super disappointedI typically love boon products and was really excited about this one they are usually well thought out and quality. After my son slip his head open on the tub I decided we needed something to protect his head.So pros: protects head from spout, an older kid can lean back and rinse their own hair with this worn ease, design should accommodate most, if not all drain styles, there is a little hole on the bottom to allow standing water to drain so it doesn't get gross or stainCons: the mechanism designed to hold bubbles leaks a lot. You will definitely waste a lot of bubbles if you use it and if you want to rise your kids hair it will be full of bubble solution 1Would buy again!I really like this faucet cover! My I can bathe my son without worrying he'll injure himself. The only thing j don't like about it is my faucet is kind of bulky, so I had to open the cover all the way to get it to fix. It kind of feels like it'll only last so long before it breaks because of how tight of a fit it is. But we'll see, I suppose. This was the only option for me. Couldn't find another faucet cover that would fit because my faucet has a divider in the front. I definitely like this product and will recommend to anyone else. I love the bubble dispenser idea, but seems kind of pointless because you can just pour the bubbles manually. Takes a while to dispense. I hope when my son gets older, he'll lean back and be able to rinse his own hair. That would be helpful. :)June 27, 2019:We still use it to this day and it works like a charm. My son, who is now almost 4, enjoys pushing the soap dispenser and filling the tub with bubbles. Still no complaints. I recommend this. 5Great water deflector IF YOU CLEAN and COMPLETELY DRY IT EVERYDAYYes, it does get moldy. I didn't realize this with my first purchase until a few months of use (never took it off the faucet.. why would you?) and one day I did remove it and noticed the thick BLACK MOLD on the inside of the cover!!! Really disgusting. So why did I purchase it again? Ok, this is by far the BEST water deflector out there. I've looked high and low but nothing compares to this. That said, there are a few things you MUST do to keep it safe and mold free:1. You MUST rinse off and let it COMPLETELY dry every day. I know this sounds like a hassle but finally it only takes an extra 10 seconds.2. Do NOT keep it attached to the faucet daily especially if you also use the shower. After rinsing off, I usually put it on the towel wrack to dry off until next use.4 months and no mold so far.I also let it soak in vinegar water every month of so to clean it.So, great deflector but minus one star for the inconvenience. 4Sturdy design but needs to be largerI was tempted to give this 4 stars because it is the best that is there and is very durable but it s gets 3 because it is just too small for modern faucets. All of these solutions have problems if you have a faucet that was manufactured in the present century. Most of these assume you have a small faucet with no shower diverter.Where do you see those anymore? Ah yes, that 1970s home my grandmother lived in that has never been renovated. This unit is one of the rare solutions that work with a shower diverter. That is to say it has a hole for the diverter. It is hard to get it on chunkier faucets. They could have made the whole thing a 1/2 bigger and it would work much better. The inside has a rubber flap meant to seal the back fo the faucet but for our faucet it ends up going into the mouth and either activating the diverter or causing water to come out the back side. We are able to get it working with some adjustment. The bubble dispenser seems to leak so we don t use it. It may be leaking because it tends to get shoved up against the faucet inside. They should have protected it better. You can see these two issues in the second picture. The blue bubble dispenser has little clearance and the rubber flap is going up inside the faucet. 3Very short lifespan, removeable partsI bought this at the end of September. By April the hinges were rusted out and leaving rust flakes and there was mold growing in the place where you put the bubble solution (we never used that feature) that can't be cleaned. I clean this every week when I clean the bathroom and it is still unusable now. Shopping for a new solution. Also, my 14 month old can easily remove this from the faucet and also pull off the tab that lifts up for the bubble solution. 2Best bathtub faucet extender!Bought this so I could fill up the little bathtub for my infant. Before I was constantly cupping my hands around the faucet to get the water to land in the infant tub. Haven't used the button for the bubble bath yet, but she's still too young to use bubbles anyway. So far I'm loving it!*** UPDATE 3/9/2019 *** Eight months have gone by and my little one has turned a year. Boon water deflector has been so useful since my little one can finally stand and sit in the tub. Easy to install, use, & clean. Despite the negative comments, like anything else; this should be cleaned regularly or at least monthly to prevent mold. I soak it in vinegar overnight to clean it and it's like new again. There is a little bit of rusting on & around the metal springs inside the unit but nothing that cola soda can't fix. This product is still working and going strong. I've used the bubble dispenser and it does start to leak. Honestly, it doesn't bother me because I just pour the liquid bubble soap while the water is running. Overall, I feel like this has been the best product out there on the market and has exceeded expectations. 5
