Incorrect size, Doesn't last longThe one that I received was not big enough for even one cup of coffee even though it was labeled as a 3 cup.Maybe three espresso cups. Either way this is extremely small.I just poured my coffee this morning about eight months after receiving this press and the screw retainer that keeps the screen in place had cracked. It is made with inferior plastic that has become brittle with time. I have taken very good care to clean the unit thoroughly. It's never been in the dishwasher only hand washed.Seems to be planned obsolescence.Not recommended. 2Great qualityThis is my second time purchasing this product! Years ago I bought a small blue one for my dad and he used it on all of his camping trips including hiking the AT. It s lightweight and incredibly durable and many other hikers and campers asked about it. I bought him a second larger one more recently fir the home after he randomly reminisced about the greatest camping French press I ever had. 5Look ElsewhereI purchased a red "3-cup" model and I am not sure what size of cups they used to determine that. I have smaller restaurant/cafe style cups, not large mugs, and this press filled barely enough for 1 cup. So don't be fooled by advertised cup capability. This press also lasted about 3 months with moderate use before it broke. The plastic for the internal press corroded and basically disintegrated so that it essentially feel apart. For the price, this is definitely not worth your money. Maybe if it was $3.00, I would recommend purchasing, and then I would also recommend purchasing multiple presses for replacements. Look elsewhere!!!! 1press doesn't slide in and out like it shouldThe press portion has a rubber seal that has to flip one way or the other to press or remove. It doesn't do this cleanly. You have to either pull hard to pull it up, or pull hard to press it down. You can imagine this would be an issue when it is full of coffee, or could possibly break the "unbreakable" (yeah sure) glass. I'm not even doing to use it - purchasing a bodum instead, which I have experience with, and which works MUCH more smoothly. Not worth the price savings 1didn't lastI purchased this in March 2011 and it worked well for a while. I used it about 2 to 3 times a week and didn't put it in the dishwasher so it has NOT been overused or abused. After about 7 months, it began a small leak from the bottom when I would press it down. I decided to order the Bonjour glass carafe to replace it because I wasn't having any problems with anything else. Now it is January and the whole press thing broke apart. It seems like the heat from the hot water was too much for it and caused the plastic to break. I don't understand why you would put out an item to make hot coffee and not use a plastic strong enough to handle the heat? It has not even lasted a year. I have contacted Bonjour's customer service and hope they will be able to make things right but just wanted to share my experience. 2Great for travelI bought this with the intention of taking it with me to Peru- I was doing some work in a relatively small town, and outside big cities in Peru it's pretty hard to get coffee that isn't instant. I brought a couple 1-pound bags of ground coffee and this.I appreciated the small size of the item and that the carafe is "unbreakable"- it was easy to pack it and I didn't have to worry about it breaking in my suitcase (this was what happened to my last French press). Considering the plastic carafe, I was pretty impressed with the seal and the quality of the coffee.I'm not sure I would recommend it for daily use, but for my purposes while traveling it worked out well. I imagine it would also be good for camping. 5Good Individual Coffee Press..I like this press. Its enough for me to have a cup of coffee when I want one and not leave too much to waste. Its easy to take apart and unlike some other reviews, I havent had any problems with bits breaking. Then again I take care to unscrew the bits and pieces carefully and wash them all by hand. Its not too flimsy and the coffee so far hasnt left any marks at all on the plastic container. There is no after smell if I dont use if for a day or two (which is rare !) and it looks nice next to my silver thermos mug. 5Liked it a lot until it brokeThis press was great until it broke. I've been using it for about 3 weeks now and it was easy to use and easy to clean. Then one morning I made my coffee and when took it apart to clean it, half of the press that contains the filter was broken off.I wouldn't recommend this product due to the poor quality. Spend a few extra bucks on a higher quality french press. 2Best thing yet!!!!!!!!!!Wonderful!! I use a French press all the time, and if you are like me-----trying to be REALLY careful with the extremely thin glass-----you know that at some point there will be an "oops" moment, and you will be scrambling trying to get a new one fast. This little invention stops the panic. It's plastic, BPA free....and those "oops" moments are now a thing of the past. Well worth the money!! 5Good little coffee pressI read many of the reviews and wanted to put in my two cents. I have broken so many of the glass coffee presses that I bought one of these. It says 3-cup because it is a "French" press and they drink demitasse cups of strong coffee. I make mine with a little more coffee grounds and then add hot water to my mug to get the mug-full I like. If the filter screens pour your coffee too slow just turn the lid a little and let out more from the side. To avoid coffee spurting out when you press, just put both hands on the plunger and let the weight of them push it down slowly. I've had mine for 6 months and wash it in the top rack of the dishwasher and it is just fine. And no, nothing is unbreakable in the end, but a little TLC goes a long way. And it is fun to have colorful choices. I will also use this little pot for traveling so I can have my own favorite coffee. 4
