It easily throws an eerie and groovy light across the landing ... This is a very bright light compared to the old style tube black lights. It easily throws an eerie and groovy light across the landing on our porch where we will have a Halloween display. Looks like LED technology blows the socks off of fluorescent bulbs. Here is a tip that may help other buyers. I took the light out of the box plugged it in and turned it on. All the bulbs were flickering and I assumed I got a bad unit. I was trying other electrical outlets as well with the same flickering. Then I took a look at the remote and saw it had a strobe function. So I played around with the remote and found the light came out of the box in strobe mode. Once I set it to constant on it was much better and brighter as well. My wife and I love the amount and quality of light this puts out. 5I would not spend your money on these Bought two of these lights and after running both for a couple hours, they started to flicker on and off after about 10 seconds. I reached out to the company and they did respond quickly. They actually said that the lights with the remote weren't that good of quality compared to the ones without remotes and they would swap them out for me. I took a week or so to think on it and then reached out and asked them to try two more with the remotes as that is what I really wanted. Well, I have received no response now after multiple emails. I think it is ridiculous to knowingly sell the lights with remotes when they admit they are not very good quality and tend to have problems with them. I did see another reviewer who had a video on this problem with the lights but thought I would give them a try thinking maybe they have been fixed. So I would not buy these lights with the remote function as they seem to be flawed and the customer service is horrible. 1Great blacklight! I ordered these for a glow birthday ... Great blacklight! I ordered these for a glow birthday party 5 of them in a very large hall with 20 ft ceiling has awesome!!! Best birthday party ever for my son!!! 5The standard bar ones have no where near the ability to light up a room like these do Bought these for my daughters "glow" party. They are very bright and two of them lit up a 40x20 room. Now if I was going to do it all over again I would have bought four of them. We wouldn't have needed extra ones for certain areas. I purchased 3 of these for a black light party in a nice sized venue. I had only plugged up one and 2/3 of the room was glowing under the light. I could not believe how nicely everything looked just from one fixture and the price was excellent. One light had these stations glowing and they were across the room from the light and each other. 5To good to be true The price was right. Bought 6 units in January 2018 and 5 out of 6 have died. It s now September 2, 2018.Update: Seller contacted me and replaced the unit. 3Very good for large spaces. Overkill for smaller rooms. They should make one half the size for smaller rooms. Very, very, very bright. Used in a very large room, 40'x30'x16 tall and it pretty much covered the entire area. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is that with this much power it needs a switch so you can turn some of the LEDs off because in any smaller room, it's overkill. It's so bright it makes me a little nauseous. They should make one with 5 LEDs or make this one so you can turn half of them off. Compared to screw in black light CFL, there is no comparison. You'd need 5+ of those to equal this thing. 4Not a true blacklight 4 stars. It's a UV light bar.....NOT a blacklight! Although it make fluorescent items come to life, it gives off FAR too much visible light to be considered a true blacklight! I would LOVE to see this product built with 365nm LEDs. 390nm gives off way too much visible light! I seriously wonder why they don't make this using them. It gives off enough visible light to discern colors that aren't fluorescent and that shouldn't happen with a blacklight. It casts shadows! It's also very harsh on the eyes, so if it's not above your head it will be GLARING in your eyes....... This thing is perfect for a nightclub setting where it can be mounted on the ceiling and will be used to make things fluoresce..... It wouldn't matter about the visible light...... It makes the whole room glow purple! If you do "blacklight shows" this WILL cast shadows... Something you wouldn't want happening! In a professional party or rave setting this thing would be amazing....if you just want a blacklight for your bedroom etc.... stick with a high wattage CFL...(compact florescent) or a traditional tube........ This thing is just too bright! I would love to ask manufacturers why they don't build this with 365nm LEDs? If you want it for raves or nightclub, it gets 5 stars! IT'S A UV LED BAR...... 4
