Customer Reviews

Works great to start, but then pumps used for conditioner start to failI own two of these, so I obviously like it enough to repeat the purchase. It keeps my shower nice and tidy and doesn't drip or anything like that. The little circular windows also provide a nice indicator as to when it's time to refill each container. However, after using these for a few years I've noticed that -- strangely -- any containers used for conditioner tend to get jammed or "locked up" in a way that you can't pump them anymore. I actually took the pump mechanism apart on all of the containers to see what was going on. Inside is a simple system of springs and rubber o-rings. What surprised me was that all of the containers that held conditioner had inner o-rings that appeared way too big. They didn't hold in place tightly around the ridge inside like they should and were doing on the other, properly functioning pumps.I originally thought I coincidentally had three defective pumps that happened to be on my conditioner bottles, so I switched the pumps from the other bottles and everything was working well...for a while. Then, the problem resurfaced. Turns out, conditioner...for whatever reason...seems to make the material these o-ring seals are made of to expand. When I took them apart and left them out for a few days (without any conditioner), I noticed that they shrunk back to their original size. Weird.I also tried several different brands of conditioner and had the same result. I don't know what it is, but it is a definite problem with this product. So, if you don't use conditioner, it'll work great. Otherwise, it'll work great for a while and then become difficult to press the pump in.I'm going to go to the hardware store soon to see if I can find replacement o-rings that hopefully won't react the same way to conditioner. 3Are You F'N Kidding Me!!!It's hard to tell. I received the dispenser. Looked it over. Read all the instructions. Cleaned the shower wall. Measured out the proper location. Found my level. Prepared the shower surface as directed. Stuck on the double sided tape. Punctured the silicone glue tube and squeezed and squeezed then pushed and pushed then tried pressing again and again, hum. The I quit using the single minded approach and examined the tube closely and discovered that the silicone glue in the tube was already hardened. So now what? Return the item, hum a mid pain in the bum? Call the help line? Maybe they'll send a little tube of silicone to me in the mail in a few days or a week. Or I am going to get in my truck and go to the hardware store and buy the smallest tube of silicone glue that will be 10 times the amount I will need for 15% of what I paid for the whole thing. Take the time, the cost of the gas and a bit more aggravation all because the product was not up to par. Whine much? A bit I'll admit. So 1 star it is no matter what resolution I choose. 1Awkward to fill and refill, narrow nozzle, expensive replacementsliked it when first installed...thenUPDATE:Several months after this installation I have begun to regret the purchase, especially since it's glued to the tile. I would not buy this system again.First of all, it is almost impossible not to drop a cartridge when empty and removing it. It pulls out, but is often slippery, and no matter how careful you try to be, at least half the time falls onto the shower floor. That is not only annoying, but destructive. Recently I removed the empty shower body cream cartridge only to have it drop, then trying to fill it ended up with my sink, hands, clothes, and everything else covered with the cream as the bottom of the cartridge had chipped and cracked with the fall, oozing liquid cream out and onto everything as quickly as I was pouring it in.Filling it is awkward as the pump cap also comes off and has to be refitted. It doesn't stand anywhere to be able to fill it hands free, as the bottom is not flat. Also, the nozzle where the liquid comes out is so narrow that if you happen to buy liquid shower soap with any sort of tiny particles, it does not come out at all. Then you have to remove the cartridge, empty it, wasting the contents, clean it out, and load it again with smoother body wash.My husband had to replace all of his cartilages due to easy breakage. The replacements are $6 each, plus outrageous shipping of $14!!! It is really cheaper to buy a new unit. This should not be so disposable. 1Simply EssentialIn the list of mankind's inventions, these wall dispensers are right up there with sliced bread, handheld label makers, and the wheel. I'm back here to purchase another one. It's my 5th if memory serves. This model has been around a while because I remember buying one (from Service Merchandise- remember them?) for my first apartment after graduating college in 1994 and it was identical to the ones available today! I've installed one in every shower as I've moved from place to place over the years and I've never had one break or otherwise fail to work in all that time. They just make life a little easier- a shower uncluttered with bottles is easier to keep clean. Additionally, I've found that they almost completely eliminate wasted shampoo and such- quickly paying for themselves. I know exactly how many "pumps" of each type of goo it takes- a concept I love, but such behavior drives some folks crazy (or so I've learned). On balance, in my experience, the type of personality who thinks a wall dispenser is necessary is also likely to value the efficiency of counting the number of pumps required. However, that's enough of the human psychology implications. There are many great reviews with installation guides that I couldn't begin to equal. My only advice is to locate it as far away from direct water spray as possible (e.g., the opposite end as shower head) and seal around it thoroughly with silicone to keep moisture from collecting behind it. A little planning and patience during installation can make the difference between success and failure- as is true with most things in life! It's a great little device that provides a service far beyond its price and I wholeheartedly recommend it. 5A piece of junkA piece of junk. After filling up containers with shampoo conditioner and soap which took a very long time and was messy, it was placed on shower wall. When I took my shower, I could not get the soap to dispense, so I opened the contraption up and the soap container fell to the floor shattered. What a mess. Sending it back with containers full because it would be next to impossible to put the liquids back into original containers. I will continue to use bottles, thank you very much. 1Does the job with minimal personal frustrationsI was pleased with the price of this product. However, I received it with one bottle broken! It was not until months later that I realized the reason my wash was leaking and creating a mess was because there was a significant crack in the bottle at the base. Made a mess but I repaired the crack with waterproof sealant and it works fine now. Just wish it didn't arrive damaged and that I caught the damage before my return period expired. The unit itself is nothing spectacular in the materials used; all plastic. the "windows" to see how much is left is nice. Refilling the bottles is a pain in the rear as they don't stand up on their own. Overall, great concept of product and would buy again but maybe a different brand next time. Not positive on that though as I have no qualms with how this unit performs (now that I fixed the damage) and looks. I appreciate that this product allows for no clutter in my shower! 4Design flaw, FYIWe have used this and had it installed in our shower for several months. Although this works well, there is a significant design flaw. If you look at the pic, you push in a button to elevate the front panel to refill the soap containers. Well, those buttons are not firmly attached to the containers. When you lift that panel up, one or more of those buttons come off and fall on the bathtub floor. You then have to bend over and futz around to replace the buttons. Don't laugh, it's a minor PITA. Otherwise, the provided silicone gel has been holding this firmly and the buttons dispense soap fine. They need to redesign and fix the buttons or you'll be picking those buttons up every time you open the latch. 3Great Product! Now my Bathrooms are clutter-Free!:THE GOOD:I was soo tired of having my bathrooms with junk on the counters. I always put things under the sink until I used them but now I don't have to do that anymore. My first reason for this was to put in the shower but then I thought to myself that I could use it for the main area of my bathroom as well. So I have one in my shower (the 3 chamber) and one in the main area (another 3 chamber)! In the shower there is one pump for 'Soap, Shampoo and Conditioner'. In the main area I have one pump for 'Soap, Lotion and Germ X'.I have two of these in one of my bathrooms and one in the other. They come in one, two, three and four chamber sizes. I use the three chambers in my main bathroom and the two chamber upstairs. The 2 three chamber ones, I keep in the shower and by the sink in one bathroom. The shower one is labeled 'Soap, Shampoo and Conditioner'. The sink area is labeled 'Lotion, Soap and Hand Sanitizer' and etc. There is no supplied label for Hand Sanitizer so get a label printer machine to customize yourselves some nice labels ;-)THE BAD:There are NOTHING bad! - lol! The ONLY issue I have is that there is no label for the 'Germ X'. So I substituted the 'Shower Gel' for that until I find a label-maker. I also put a 2 chamber in my upstairs bathroom where there is only a sink and toilet. Yep you guessed it, I put one for 'Soap and Germ X' in that bathroom! I'm soo happy now, just trying to figure out next how to make my bathrooms, 'towel-free.' ;-) - I have ideas on that but not ready to do it at the moment...Love this Dispensers though.UPDATE 2019: I just bought another for my small apartment (I m living by-coastal now). I have a set in the apartment bathroom like in my home, but this time I ALSO put a set in the kitchen for my condiments! One chamber holds ketchup, another holds mayo and the other holds mustard! You do not have to always store your condiments in the fridge, it is only recommended for quality not for freshness. I also keep the bottles of these condiments in the refrigerator but having the ability to dispense them at will from this wall mounted unit - is priceless! 5compact but hotel-ish. .... now one dispenser does not workThis dispenser is a bit 'hotel-ish' in appearance, but is a real convenience. It goes up easily and seems quite firmly attached to the wall with the included tape and silicone glue. It dispenses a very small amount with each press of the button making it more difficult to use too much product. Also, the containers are somewhat difficult to fill especially if using large bottles since the top does not lift completely out of the way. The color is more beige than shown (which works well for me since my wall tile is beige.) It is compact and does seem sturdy. 2018.0427 Update: I have had this item for a little over a year and the pump of one of the dispensers no longer works. It will cost me over $12 to get a replacement bottle/pump. I think I will just replace the entire unit since i'm afraid the other 2 might also stop working and will end up costing way too much money. Disappointing. 1Great Space SaverI love this dispenser. We have an unbelievably small standup shower and I think an airplane bathroom is bigger than our shower... there was nowhere to put our soap/shampoo so we had bottles everywhere. We first bought one of those hanging shelves that hangs from the shower head but the bottles were always falling off and whack u on the foot when u had soap in your hair and eyes it was a real hazard. I was able to get rid of everything: that stupid useless shelf and all bottles/containers and now it's safe to take a shower. I LOVE THIS!!!!!!!!! I read reviews about units falling off the wall or busted bottles etc so I prepped the surface VERY well before attaching to the wall of my shower: I cleaned the surface with Lime Away to be sure no film of any kind was on the wall to effect adhesion. I also used a fine sander and sanded the unit on the back where I was going to put the adhesive strips. I literally pulled on this thing with force and it did not budge. As far as the bottles I know to be cautious when opening the unit to refill. I will use a bath towel as like a net to catch anything that might fall out while refilling as a safety precaution. But I have opened and closed it a dozen times and the bottles never came loose or popped out, so hopefully I won't have issues. I'm trying this out in my home shower because if it holds up I want to buy one for my RV. So far so good. Lifetime warranty on this so I'm optimistic. 5
