Customer Reviews

Really pleased I admit, I bought this pan simply because it was relatively inexpensive; what a pleasant surprise. I cannot yet speak to longevity, but I am really happy with this pan so far. First, it is VERY non-stick. I haven't really been able to get anything to stick to it. Surprisingly, the outside of the pan also seems nearly non-stick cleans up easily. Hot water and a plastic bristle brush will get anything off so far, I only use soap to make sure it hygienically clean. (It is interesting to note that my old Calphalon, even where the interior non-stick is still working, is very stained on the exterior and will not come clean at this point.) The pan is medium weight, this is important to note. Some types of cook tops really need a heavy weight pan, and this is not one. Be careful because there are many differnt pans with approximately the same name (this precise pan is the one I bought and am reviewing). I have a natural gas stove and medium weight has not been an issue for me(I also don't cook with high heat and so reduce the danger of warping the pan). The pan will brown/sear meat with no higher than medium high heat. The pan heats evenly without noticeable hot or cool spots. The lid fits tightly and the grip/handle (both on the lid and pan itself) is sturdy with a sure grip/feel. Handles are riveted, so no real fear of them coming loose. The depth of the pan and slope of the sides makes it easy to cook with the pan relatively full without slopping over the sides. I have not used the pan in the oven (and am not sure why I would), but on the stove top the handle has never been so hot that I needed a pan holder (bearing in mind that I am a guy with relatively high tolerance for temperature extremes, delicate hands may feel things differently, still a useful comment as a relative gage). For reference purposes I bought this pan to replace a twenty year old Calphalon saute pan. I like this pan better. So: 1) non-stick, very good. 2) clean up, good. 3) even heating, good. 4) overall shape/size/utility, good. The only other measure I can think of is durability and I won't be able to tell you that for several more months.I can't think of anything else you might need to know, ask if you have questions. Joe. 5Great product! This is a large pan made of hard-anodized aluminum, which means it is lightweight but at the same time strong, and distributes the heat over the whole pan like nothing, and the non-stick is natural to the whole pan in and out. This pan is 12 inches wide at the mouth, and deep enough (3 inches) to prep a 4-person large meal (or 6-person), and it also looks good. I recommend to everyone who is making food for 4 people or more. Just don't forget this pan burning alone on the fire, because it will overheat, and therefore dilate and bend like any alumninum pan (center of the pan inflates upwards)... but if you forget pans on the fire you shouldn't be buying any of this anyway. 5They cut a corner everything about the pan i like: heft, surface, size, etc. and i would have given it 5 stars except for this: not too terribly long after i bought it the bottom of it warped. The pan had never been accidentally alone with high heat and rarely used for searing purposes. My guess is they just cut a corner by not using properly tempered steel. i do not recommend. Its no fun when you crack an egg into pan and everything just rolls to one side. 2Great Non-Stick Pan This is a nice large pan. It's good as a skillet or for stir-fry. It has high sides that reduce splatters. The non-stick surface works great and it's easy to clean. The only thing that surprised me though is that it tends to have a hot spot (see update note below). I've noticed that things cook a little faster in the region closest to the handle. That seems strange to me. I have hot spots on my BBQ grill, but I've never noticed this in a pan before. I even tested it out by cooking batches of bacon and turning the pan around. No matter how I oriented the pan or the strips of bacon (north to south or east to west), the strips of bacon or the ends of the strips closest to the handle cooked faster. This pan looks nice, cooks well (except for the hot spot), and cleans well. The sticker on the pan says that it's safe to use metal utensils, but I don't plan on testing that.______________________________UPDATE (3/8/16):We've owned this pan for less than three months now. My wife loves it so much that she just made me order another one. That's about as high praise as I can imagine. The pan works great and cooks fantastic. I have a hunch that she's going to make me order her a third one for our RV.UPDATE 2 (July '16): We now own four of these: two in our home and two in the RV. That's about as high praise as I can think of. And about that hot spot in my original review...either I got used to it or it went away, because I can't find which pan had the hot spot anymore. We're all good now. 5Best. Skillet. Ever. I am an avid cook and have been using the same set of Crate & Barrel pans for years now. They were OK, but as time went on they became stained and ugly, plus the non-stick teflon didn't work very well. Eventually it started flaking off so I knew it was time to invest in a new set. I decided to try these pots from Anolon, and I am extremely impressed.I compared these to Calphalon pans and didn't see many differences in the features, so I went with these due to my budget. I can't imagine that Calphalon pans are any better. The Anolon pans I bought are beautiful, easy to clean, and truly non-stick. I have melted cheese in the bottom of the pan and left it sitting for a day just to see how easy it would clean up, and I swear that it lifted right off when I added water. No scrubbing needed. I've used this skillet and the other pans multiple times and they still look brand new. These are literally the best pans I have ever used, and I will be buying Anolon for the rest of my cooking needs. 5THE PERFECT POT This pot I have had for close to a year. It is still non stick and still heats up well. It is very large so you can cook a variety of items at the same time. I have cook breakfast meals mainly with this pot and dinner as well. It also makes a good sauce pan for making sauces or stew mix items for example if you are making low mein with lots of noodles and vegetables. It does come with a lid that fits well. It is very sturdy and heavy. It weights 4-5 lbs..this is a good thing though. Those cheap pots where you can get a whole set for 29 bucks will fail on you this is very strong material and built to last. It is also easy to clean and I usually wait for It to cool and clean after. allowing oil to remain in the pot over time is not a good idea. Also you don't want to clean as soon as your done cooking you want to let the pot cool by it self and then clean. I have not tried with dishwasher but it should be safe. if this is helpful please click the helpful link at the bottom thank you. 5I love these Non-stick Anolon pans from Amazon. I ordered both the covered 12" skillet and the smaller 8" skillet from the Anolon Advanced Bronze Collection and was delighted to see they are even better than I expected. The weight is ideal--impressive but not too heavy for my older hands, The finish shouts quality inside and out. Cooking with them is a step-up in ease of cooking and cleaning. Meat browns nicely with only a tiny drop of oil in the pan. Instructions say no oil is needed, and I may get brave and try that, but in the meantime, can report that both skillets are a pleasure to use for a variety of food I've cooked on my gas range, including eggs, steak, chicken, fish, grilled veggies, e.g. onions, potatoes, stir-fry, etc. Pancakes and French Toast browned without using oil. I particularly appreciate that the exterior finish is also non-stick and wipes clean as easily as the interior, This should extend the attractiveness of the pans for a long, long time. The bronze color is nice, but I would have ordered the stainless finish if the sizes I wanted had been on sale at the time. Note: I forgot just how large a 12" skillet is, and will be ordering a 10" soon, as I'm usually cooking for two.18 MONTH UPDATE: These pans were everything we wanted for about 12 monthsbefore the exterior non-stick finish began to break down and I was unable tofind anyway to keep them looking good. Another 6 months, and the inside ofthe 12" skillet had lost most of it's non-stick qualities, and was impossibleto clean. In all, these "better" quality" non-stick lasted just barely longerthan the less expensive ones and price considered, were not as economical.BTW: We are a 2 person household and we both love to cook and know how tocare for our equipment. These pans were never over-heated of abused, and werecleaned as instructed. In the 18 months of almost daily use of one or the other,I could count on one hand the times the pan was NOT hand-washed and put away after useand not just rinsed and wiped out. Only the small pan is still usable--but unsightly!Question: Should I now order "best" non-stick, and hope they're worth it, or justplan on replacement every year or so? 5Fabulous pot, yes, it's a great investment! I just left this review for the Anolon collection of pots that I bought along with this one:I've been using this amazing cookware for more than 5 years now, and can only say how very glad I am that I bought it. It's solid, non-stick without adding any unexpected flavor to the food -- and VERY easy to clean. On that note, I have NEVER put any of these pans into the dishwasher, they are easy to wash by hand, and the glass lids just shine. Highly recommended. All I can add is that this is my absolute Favorite of all the pots. It was well worth the extra expense, I do mostly one person cooking, but when I want to make a batch of anything, then freeze single servings, this is the pan I use. Fabulous! 5Well-Made Kitchen Workhorse This pan is a workhorse in the kitchen. The hard anodized nonstick material is exceptionally durable. Solidly made, it has some weight to it but is not too heavy. My ony complaint is that I am disappointed with the color. I got the bronze deep skillet and it is no where as pretty and bright as shown on Amazon which I would have preferred. The bronze is dull and matches the inside of the pan. (And why couldn t they make a pretty red color?) I do love that it s deep and that it is a 12 pan because I make numerous dishes that require this big and deep of a skillet. Clean up is truly a breeze. I expect the pan to last a good long time. Aside from the color, and I can overlook that as it s a very neutral tone, this is exactly what I wanted. 4Nice Durable Pan, But Heavy! It's a nice, heavy-duty pan and the non-stick finish seems quite durable so far. It's also quite deep, so it allows for cooking a larger volume of food than most pans of the same diameter. The one potential downside I can imagine for some users is that it is pretty heavy, especially with the lid on and full of food. The pan does not have a second handle opposite the main handle like some other pans of this weight, and it might be a bit much to lift safely for people who are on the frail side or have issues with their hands and wrists. 5
