    We were so disappointed in these stoolsWe were so disappointed in these stools. In less than a year all four of our stools started falling apart. They tip from side to side and are no longer safe to sit on. Upon our inquiry, American Woodcrafters declined their assistance. 1They were very well packed and easy to put togetherBeutiful stools. Assembly was difficult for me in that the instructions were very small for my eyesight, a lot of achy fingers using the allen wrench, however the end results were worth it! When we opened the box, we experienced a chemical smell(formaldehyde?) that forced us to put them in the basement to gas out. Still there with little reduction in smell. I put them together...fairly easy except for two missing screws...found my own and proceeded. Took them up to the family room and promptly returned them to the basement because of the smell. Tried leaving them outside to air out...little success. Not sure of our next step. I would like to return them but they are already assembled.2. These were made in China...different standards...check out Lumber Liquidators. I thought that purchasing from American Furniture in North Caroline (furniture hub of the easy coast) that I would be getting American made goods. I don't remember seeing the Gina connection on the ad, not to say it wasn't there...should have been more prominent if it was there...wouldn't have purchased them if I had known.3. This experience will affect my decision to renew my Amazon Prime contract next year. 1
