When down feathers attack, get this cover!I have a king sized down pillow (note I bought the body sized one, that was my mistake so it doesn't factor into this review) which I put between my legs for lower back issues, and I was constantly getting scratches on my legs from feathers trying to stab me to death.I had the equivalent of a non-waterproof pillow protector-protector-protector (yes, 3 of them at once) as well as the high thread count pillowcase, and STILL those sneaky little downy bastards found their way through!I finally considered that if waterproof cases keep stuff out, maybe they can keep the feathers in?! Yes! Hallelujah, sweet baby Jesus - it worked! No more stabby nights for me.(note that when you remove the cover for washing, they will attack, but since you are hopefully clothed at this point, you'll be fine) 5These are a terry cloth towel Material!! How is this hypoallergenic let alone waterproof?My son has the worst allergies to dust and about 2 months ago started developing hives from them or something he s touching daily! I decided to buy him all new bedding, new pillows and also allergy coverings for everything!!!I ordered this for his new body pillow and I really do not like this covering at all let me tell you why!!First it is like a very thin terry cloth towel!! It s rough feeling and definitely not waterproof... (see pics). I did not know the material would be like this...in my opinion terry cloth has much more pours or grooves dust can hide!?! I thought I would be receiving the thick cotton type feeling ones that are actually waterproof!!!! I am Not sure how these at all can be hypoallergenic or mite proof either because of all the terry cloth they can hide in!!! There isn t even a waterproof lining under the terry cloth so not sure how the waterproof works but I know by the looks of it, it isn t! My son does drool and since I bought all new pillows I d like to protect them from his drool!!I ordered a 4 pack for his regular pillows and those are the ones I wanted!!I will be returning this cause it is not what I hoped it would be!! 2Should have listened to bad reviewsIt's the 2nd night, and I'm still VERY unhappy with the pillow case. The outer material is not soft. Feels like a cheap, thin motel towel. You can hear the plastic lining. It radiates your body heat back onto you, and WORST of all, it traps air inside. It's like hugging a body pillow sizes animal balloon. I unzipped the corner, laid on top of it to get all the air out, and then zipped it closed. It looked like a funny vacuum sealed pillow for a few seconds, and then it started re-inflating! The trapped air worsens rhe angle of my hips and legs (which is the reason i need a body pillow). They are my first dust mite pillow case, and if the rest are like this, i will never buy again. Alleviating my allergies are not worth these pillow cases. 1It is indeed waterproof.I have 1 dog and 2 granddogs. This pillowcase encloses their mattresses perfectly. It is certainly easier to wash a pillowcase than the mattress. I love the convenience. 5Has a Terrycloth FeelI wasn't expecting the terrycloth covering, but I enjoy it. It doesn't heat me up and I don't hear any crinkling sounds when moving it around. It seems to work well for keeping my pillow dustfree, which is the reason I purchased this pillow cover. The zipper is well hidden but not hard to close and keeps the pillow in place. They arrived on time with good packaging and no defects in the product. Overall, very satisfied with this purchase. 5Great product, not for memory foam pillowsThese are great covers for normal pillows I would think, but not for memory foam pillows, which is what we have. So I do not recommend this if you have this pillow type. The problem that we encountered was that the memory foam needs to be able to breathe so it can conform properly. We found that if we compressed the foam that it would very slowly return to form once released as opposed to the near immediate re-form it would do without it. When trying to sleep with it we would end up with a fully flat pillow with no support. Overall this is an excellent product and I have no doubt that it will do exactly as it claims, but it doesn't work well with memory foam. 2LOVE!It's soft, yet the material keeps the pillowcase clung to it so it doesn't slip off in the night. Easy to wash and reuse and comes with detailed instructions for care to maintain its useful life!!! And VERY affordable! 5Great product soft and silentI bought these for my husbands pillows as he took the last cover off because it caused him to sweat and was very noisy. These are soft and hardly noticable. Great product will defiantly be replacing previous covers. 5Noisy and RoughIf you're a person who doesn't typically notice textures or sounds, these pillow cases would probably be fine for you. I am sensitive however, and disliked these so much I got out of bed and changed the pillow case the first night I tried it. I have microfiber sheets that are soft and a little silky. Having this under the regular pillow case dramatically changed the feel of the pillow. The terry cloth is hard and rough to the touch. In addition, every time I shifted on the pillow it was quite loud. 2Highly Recommend for Guest PillowsSet of 2 Waterproof Pillow Protectors Zippered - Dust Mite, Bacteria, Allergy Control - Encasement - Bed Bug Proof! (Standard Size, 2 Pk)I've purchased 2 sets of this type of pillow protectors and will purchase another when budget allows. These pillow protectors are made of a thin terry cloth material on the outside and a soft vinyl or plastic type of protective material on the inside. They do not make any of the crunching plastic noise that some waterproof liners do. Nor do they make you sweat. I especially find them very useful for guest pillows. I don't have to fuss over washing pillows after having overnight guests. Just wash the cases and protectors. They do need special care when washing/drying and because of that I recommend you wash them separately from other items. You will need to turn them inside out, very important! Or the water will not drain from them. Normal wash in cold or warm water setting but will also need to do 1 to 2 extra spin cycles before putting them into the dryer. Dry at LOW temp. You should wash them before first use to remove lint. Also they do make it a bit of a struggle to get the pillow cases on. But it's worth it to me. 4
